I understand that the 9th house rules higher learning and our quest for knowledge and meaning. Does it also rule traveling, journey's abroad (wherever abroad may be), and finding meaning through those avenues?

I have had a sudden urge lately to learn anything different from me and travel to anywhere but here.

What's your 9th house like?

I have a 4 personal planet stellium in the 9th. I love to study. I love to read. I love languages.
I have been bored less than ten times in my whole life because I am always happy learning things.

I have two 9th house positions in my chart. That rings true for me.

Thank you all for your responses. Do you all find that school in the traditional sense was hard for you or did you enjoy the typical classroom setting?

I have sun, Mercury, moon and Venus in 9th.

I have never really felt the urge to physicaly travel to far away places. The (a) ocean tho and a view of the horizon while hearing the sound of waves sweeping up on the shore is something that want me to travel, but not for adventure and/or experience other cultures.

My stellium in the 9th has played out as an never ending thirst to learn about different religion and philosophies but never really to experience them in "the real world".
Ive got a bachelor degree in computer science and beside from some courses in law thats it as far as education goes for me.

The 9th house will probably play differently in other signs.

My mercury is conjunct sun, trine Uranus, square Neptune and Pluto and Sextile Saturn. I have been a constant underachiever in the traditional school system.

Taurus Jupiter in 9H conj SN, Chiron, MC. Have traveled all my life and consider myself knowledgable of a lot of things. I do get bored easily so sticking to one topic and thus making me an "expert" at said topic is really hard. I'd rather fleet from one thing to the next. Sadly I'm the same with people..

I have Jupiter opp. Uranus with Venus (Venus being ruler of 9H) square both.

I have always been kinda "lucky" in my worklife. There have been times when things initially looked grim but some unseeable "force" have always managed to push me in a direction where things turned out good.

There's no where particular I call "home". I can travel anywhere and find a "home". I see it all as a step to more learning.

P.S. I absolutely detested school! I pretty much detest anything that makes me feel confined. I like things, and people, to be otherwordly, non tangible and hard to grasp.

School in the traditional sense was hard for me. It wasn't the work I had to do but the feeling of how restrictive the traditional setting is. I felt like I wasn't having fun learning and that school was more about memorization than what I wanted to learn and as someone whose career choice hasn't changed since she was 11 the fact I couldn't just study what I wanted greatly damaged my creative abilities. Since my creative abilities weren't properly nurtured I find that I am having to go back and learn how to be creative in order to do what I want to do in the future. It's frustrating and I didn't even learn in a traditional school setting. However, it was traditional enough to make me feel overly restricted and like my learning was hindered. I wasn't learning what I wanted but what I had to and that sucked out the fun. I really really love to learn about certain things and I don't appreciate having to memorize things for a test. Most things I end up memorizing don't even show up in the test material. This just goes to show that I learn differently than the majority.

i have saturn/neptune/uranus conj in 9th house, uranus is on the cusp of 8/9 tho, opp jupiter 3rd, also squaring my sun/mars/merc 6th.

my whole life ive had a hard time adjusting to academic structures. when i was younger i would frequently take time out of school to travel, whether it was short distance or farther. my summers were spent camping for weeks at a time. even now with college.. theres definitely been delays and changes in directions. never really been good at being on time.. ha sorta been a rule-breaker all my life.. nicely tho
im deeply, deeply curious about everything, i dissect just about anything that catches my attention.. not that thats necessarily a good thing at times. always had an easy time taking trips mentally too! haha saturn def adds my skeptical side were i will dig deep for proof and evidence.. or direct experience. digging for the truth is very very fulfilling for me, i am frequently reading about something or the other..

with traveling.. as ive grown, my experiences traveling to other countries are usually pretty interesting. spiritual in a sense and its pretty common for me to get into accidents lol ive had some of the most amazing and spiritual connections while traveling, particularly costa rica.. i want to live there for a short bit at some point in my life.. meeting the neatest people while abroad! also, my mom grew up in ghana, africa so ive been very exposed to all kinds of cultures my whole life.. my dads side of the family is complete opposite, traditional, american family, european descent.. im pretty sure my great grandpas were in the KKK and freemasons lol
culturally, philosophically, spiritually and with traveling.. its all deeply impacted my growth and acceptance of life big time!

Aries rules my 9th, no planets there accept my NN in the last degree conjunct my MC :/ Mars is in his fall in Cancer, but is conjunct my sun, in the 12th. I don't really know how this affects my 9th though. Conjunct my sun gives mars extra power, so I guess in my case it just makes it less debilitated? Never been on a long journey, lol...Unless you count like 3 hours from home long distance. No official brick and mortar higher education, although I love learning and still seek it, just on my own. Never really been in legal trouble, doesn't 9th rule legal matters? My conjunction makes a trine to Saturn and is widely conjunct my moon. I guess I don't really have a strong 9th, lol...it's not really noticeable in my everyday life that I can tell. Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong.

I have Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in 9th house, so yeah, I do love traveling and studying. I absolutely love learning about hobbies and languages through books, videos, and others's experience. The process must be self-taught, though, as I hate being in school following certain academic requirements. To me, it's not learning; it's more of fulfilling a set of rules that is placed on an individual.

9H Aries Chiron
9H Aries Jupiter --> aspects most of my chart

I've always loved travel and international people (Sag Venus) and would gladly just become a nomad if I had that freedom.

'Enjoyed school until I realized that for all the effort I put into it, I didn't actually become as smart as I thought I did. :-/ So I liked it at the time but have complaints, in retrospect.

Pluto in Scorpio/9th, 9th house cusp in Scorpio, Sag MC, Jupiter in Leo trine MC…

I would travel and be a nomad if I could. Instead, I read a lot, write a lot, watch documentaries/shows about other places, other ways of life, etc. I also do not get bored easily.

I liked college but didn't care for any school before that.

I have nothing but chiron in 9th house. I like learning, but not all of things can interest me. I love travelling so much, that is my biggest interest in my life, although I haven't been to many places. I wish I could.

For my s.o, it does. He has sun in the 9th house. He has learned a fair bit in his travels. He seeks meaning/answers. His desire to travel isn't stemmed from wanderlust/itchy feet syndrome (unlike mine).

Once when I was dealing with a little crisis, he took me to a little remote village that he once traveled to.

My 9th house is empty. Ruler mercury is in the 12th house, in sag conj sun/uranus, sextile MC. I've lived aboard, changed countries. I'm just restless. I seek the thrill and excitement in new things/environment. I have a long list of places I want to visit. Tristan da Cunha is next on the list lol.

Knowledge interests me and makes me happy. I like to try things out, but few keep my interest for long, so I flit around doing a lot of stuff, picking up a lot of hobbies..etc... My s.o picks one thing he's interested in, and gets deeply into it. His 9th house ruler is venus (virgo), in the 8th house, conj mars, square uranus/neptune, sextiles saturn, trine asc.

We're both avid readers. Creative writing is my thing. His is research/academic papers He writes romantic poems when he's in the mood or when he wants to butter my a** up though.
