Has anyone ever read upon and heard of applying and separating conjunctions.I am reading my Cosmi-tec monthly for July on June 21, today. Summer Solistice!!! ------------------

An applying conjunction is when two planets are conjunct one another and the orb continues to grow smaller because the faster moving planet is moving closer to the slower one. A separating conjunct is the same, instead with the faster moving planet moving away from the slower moving planet, thus the orb growing larger and the aspect itself weakening. Traditionally, applying aspects (for these can happen with any aspect, not just conjunctions) are stronger than separating aspects. Hopefully that helps  ------------------

Look at the conjunction as if you were looking at a natural chart.When the two planets in question are forming a separating conjunction (also known as a new phase conjunction), the dynamic will possess a quality reminiscent of Aries/first house, i.e. the planetary dynamic is relatively new and is in a state of self-discovery. The soul has just concluded and is beginning a new part of its journey where experiences are being initiated to learn more about the two planetary functions and their relationship to one another. The applying conjunction on the other hand (or balsamic conjunction), is reminiscent of Pisces/twelfth house. The soul is in the process of concluding this particular journey with the two planets and is preparing itself for the new cycle. Dynamics existing between the two planets that are no longer necessary to the soul's growth are progressively and intensely being transcended to make way for the new experiences to be had as symbolised in the separating conjunction.
