First, it can help to better define it as the left hand path means very different things to different people (and the "black/dark arts" just mean "unknown/esoteric" to others still rather than anything good or bad). I believe you mean "black magic" that is meant to harm others and engage in the vices (even taboo), but many others simply consider it practical in that it's about making it useful in this world, like technology, and is meant to be used for gain but doesn't actively seek to harm others (in contrast the "right hand path" in this case is more about focusing on the realm of the spirit than the material). I'd think such distinctions would matter when considering the astrology. That aside, I've noticed that a lot of times the possible astrological manifestations are "equal but opposite" depending on if they manifest in healthy or unhealthy ways. Applying that to this, I suspect that many who are "black magic" would actually be very spiritual or "white magic" instead had they been raised in good, loving homes rather than the dysfunctional ones they came from. That is, if their Pisces moon makes them interested in the mystical, then in a loving home they could want to spread that love, and their mysticism will show that, but if horribly abused then they might instead seek to understand, embrace (and ultimately spread) that pain, which means the energies of the natal chart would spark the interest, but the upbringing would shape its manifestation. ('Course anyone who spends years helpless as a child might turn to anything they think might give them power to rise above their circumstances as abuse twists their minds.) There was a one time LL poster, I forget her name offhand, who was, IIRC, a Pisces sun or moon. She'd say her Pisces energy made her very sensitive to cruelty and such, and sounded as if she was oh so vulnerable to the cruel world that she tried to avoid while filled with compassion for others, and yet she started threads on serial killers (and claiming that women that helped them were not to blame as they were under the power of a man), and in one thread talked about how she tried to summon and worship demons. I was so fascinated by this incongruity that I asked her nicely and politely why someone who was so sensitive to evil would seek to conjure, evoke, and worship it, but she wouldn't touch it. I'm left with little choice than to assume she wasn't as sweet as she claimed, but rather repressed her dark, evil side that came out in interests in demons and serial killers (when the dark side is kept in the dark/subconscious is where it's most powerful, and when people are the most vulnerable to it) so she was unable to answer it (because it was a defense mechanism at work that she wasn't consciously aware of), though I was hoping for something more interesting that would give me an insight I didn't have before on the human condition and on moral and ethical philosophy & psychology. I agree with PixieJane. Maybe LHP is more materialistic and more about focusing on yourself more than on others, butI wouldn't say that Left Hand Path is neccesarilly evil or solely about "black magic".Pixie, I must admit that I'm kinda like the woman, you're talking about. On the one hand, I feel like love and compassion are the most important "things" (for lack of better word) in the universe. But on the other hand, I'm fascinated by serial killers , was for some time interested in Satanism, often listen to black metal (but I try to avoid bands that are racist - there is unfortunately a genre called National Socialist Black Metal) and feeling more related to Lilith archetype than to Eve archetype. Though when it comes to serial killers,I'm unable to read and watch documentaries about them for too long, because I almost feel the dread their victims must have go through. I wonder If that woman has something important on 6 degree of Aries "A MAN SUCCEEDS IN EXPRESSING HIMSELF SIMULTANEOUSLY IN TWO REALMS." Because I have Moon there. IP: Logged |

Trying to up the post count since some are concerned. I'm rather tired, though, so forgive me if this is too random. To me it's not random, but I can see why others would think so. Not going to let my Libra weigh this on the scales as I'll forget it by morning if I do.Though I don't have any real interest in practicing anything related to demons (and think most who do are actually rather silly and desperate), I can enjoy stories about them, which makes me interested in a way. I like this, After Dark by Seraphim Shock (to be on the safe side I'll add TRIGGER WARNING of those with memories of Satanic Ritual Abuse): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCSIL-IupQU I see a lot of symbolism there, in both the lyrics and the scenes. I'm too tired to detail it, especially as I'm not sure how relevant others would find it anyway. But I will mention that I think the 3 primary women (the one with short hair + 2 women that seem to seduce her) are all shown in "child form" at some point or another, and to me it represents the helplessness, horror, and trauma of childhood that can intrude on the adult life psychologically, and possibly even through bizarre synchronicity, though it's expressed symbolically. That's just part of it. And horror fiction can appeal to many from horrific and hellish childhood homes as a way to master the pain and rise above it, to work out their issues so to speak. I mean in an instinctive way, of course, and it's probably not even conscious. If you believe in these horrific metaphysical forces as literal entities, then it wouldn't be too hard to take it to another level. One reason I see people who get too much into that as silly and desperate is because I've mostly known kids doing it. They often got most of their inspiration (even "knowledge") from fundamentalist Christian sources (and were often raised in fundamentalist Christian homes, and that includes many serial killers that killed in the name of Satan or equivalent) that they'd then try to practice. They were usually in situations of helplessness that made them desperate for the power to master the pain they endured and to rise above the circumstances that were inflicted upon them, and may also be anger, be it at God and/or the world. (Offhand, I can't describe them astrologically, but then I'm not certain it's entirely relevant either.) If they were confident, then they wouldn't need to tear others down. They might use magick in selfish ways, but why risk the dangers of malicious magick (and its backlashes as well as just the energy and effort to go to in the first place) unless they were really, REALLY ticked off and/or desperate? Well, unless they're the serial killer type anyway who feel a need for a higher (or lower) power to worship (though plenty of these types can still call on a more traditional God/dess, just taking the worst possible version with a focus on being an instrument of punishment for the deity, to add that dash of self-righteousness with psychopathy). And then I could see the recreational kind, but again these would be people are dangerous in of themselves who are just adding a little role playing and such for novelty, and perhaps as a way to intimidate (and even terrify) victims. Firstly, be more specific when you say LHP, it's not religion and dogma, you have atheistic satanism, theistic satanism, atheistic and theistic luciferianism, and they can differ form each other, every satanist is different, and being part of LHP doesn't necessary mean to be evil.Personally, I'm into theistic luciferianism, qliphot, goetia... I have Moon in Pisces. My personal opinion is that people with a lot of water can be interested into occult. Water Moon, strong 8th house, also 9th, aspects of the Sun and Moon with Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.. IP: Logged |
