Hi Guys,Just wanted to share an observation I am making. I have been working at my new company since May 16 and we have been getting a lot of suicidal ideation cases since I started working which typically they are rare and happen spread out in frequency but there seems to be more of a concentration of it lately... I am thinking is Mars RX bringing out in people self destructive tendencies, negative self talk and increasing self violence since RX is more an internal energy. Internal negative self talk getting out of control more than usual leading to Suicidal ideation... Any how I found this intriguing and wanted to share with you all... Hang in there guys! Soon it will go direct, just a few more days.... Thank God. IP: Logged |

I'm not sure, apart of my Major Depressive Disorder is Suicidal ideation, but I felt it very strongly last week (my boyfriend helped pull me out), but this week as been as least okay (it's only Tuesday). Mars RX is sextiling my natal Mars and hitting my chart in very interesting places like Uranus and Neptune. The Pluto in Capricorn has been conjunct my sun for a very long time and I wouldn't say it's led me to become more suicidal, it's just pushed me to make much needed decisions in my life. Sometimes those decisions made me depressed, but I know Pluto will make it worth it.I think the Suicidal Ideation that you see could be the Mars RX hitting Neptune and Uranus, because there's a whole generation with Neptune and Uranus in Capricorn and then add in all the possible squares, oppositions and conjunctions and things can get messy. I suspect that Neptune is really the main contributor here since it rules escapism and suicide. ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

Maybe is just me but I don't think happiness exists, I think joy exists but nobody is in a chronic state of joy. I think the moment you realize that happiness is an illusion and that the purpose of life is to feel the entire range of emotions that are out there, you find peace.IP: Logged |

Happiness is all about the right proportion of chemicals in the brain- Serotonin and Endorphin....a bit of dopamine. Serotonin is called the happy chemical. The mars retrograde hit me very bad at its last one week retro run, it squares my natal Mars-Saturn square and makes it a T-square, exact. Thank got it goes straight soon. It rained, and it poured, very hard, painful. My beloved puppies, my two girls, were taken from my hands by animal control and impounded due to a biting incident and scheduled for euthanasia this week, if not tomorrow.

Yeah having the right proportion of chemicals in the brain definitely helps but we are emotional animals and not robots, I feel we experience joy but happiness I feel implies someone is happy all the time which I don't buy at all, life is filled with ups and downs.Truly sorry to hear about your dogs!!! I have not enjoyed Mars Rx on my psyche, rough. IP: Logged |

I think Europeans describe happiness better. It's more contentment. Not joy or bliss. I think advertisements and trying to sell us something is why happiness has become redefined in the USA, to show why we should want to pay for it (be it a psyche med or a host of products that somehow make us joyous directly or indirectly, or so the nonbinding ads promise or at least imply). I've found (and many others have observed, even back in the ancient world) that the more people enjoy on a day to day basis, the more they take it for granted and thus don't derive joy or happiness from it. Pain, bitter disappointment, even heartbreak are important for happiness. Too tired to say more, but obviously I'm not trying to sell you a product to be saying this. IP: Logged |

PixieJane, I was just thinking something similar earlier. I get what you're saying, and I agree. Hang in there, everyone. Thank you for making this observation and sharing it with us, hypatia. IP: Logged |

I dont like the word happiness or when people ask, are you happy?! Its a question that I find very unnatural and awkward. I think asking what emotion describes how you feel today like therapists often do makes more sense. I would then say I feel great today, or I feel kind of tired and numb right now, or I feel sad and lonely, or I am very annoyed right now or I feel hurt and in a lot of pain, or I feel like I am high and dreamy, or I feel excited, or I feel disappointed, or I feel bored out of my mind, or I feel angry or I feel guilty or shame etc... bc asking a general question like are you happy? is like sending a message that you are suppose to be happy all the time and if not there is something wrong with you and you bring up a good point that the media has been selling this illusion of happiness and is were this belief comes from. Contentment is a word I feel comfortable with, its a modest and more down to earth word. Joy and Bliss are fine as in we have moments of Joy like a picture my best friend send me yesterday of her graduation date in May from her master's program, her face was filled with so much joy and bliss and it was awesome, at that moment she was on top of the world truly ecstatic! but lately she has been having ups and downs emotionally like me too. Happiness is simply not a chronic state, we are emotional animals here to experience a diverse range of emotions and happy is one of many. I agree with everything you said, I have to come to similar conclusions and observations. IP: Logged |
