I was looking at my nine harmonic charts (the one that shows all the charts on one page) and as I tried to get a feel for each one, I found the planet corresponding with the harmonic (e.g Mercury with 3rd) gave an interesting précis of both how I am in communicative style, with relations etc and insight into my Mercury in general.

I don't yet grasp the architecture of charts but think harmonics are slicing up the chart into degrees that themselves correlate with aspects. But I don't know whether they also echo the signs.

how do your aspects to the planet which relates to the harmonic (Mercury = 3rd harmonic etc) describe your planet behaviour or self in those fields.

I'm not sure it can mean anything or maybe it's already built into harmonic studies?

I'll be back with a summary of major planet aspects to each harmonic house

2nd harmonic - Venus square Mercury/Pluto, sextile Jupiter

(this one is tricky, will edit later)

3rd harmonic - Mercury opp Pluto, conjunct Neptune trine Jupiter, square Uranus, sextile sun

4th harmonic - moon trine Saturn

Makes sense that this has little aspect because family is the one area of life I've never worried about. I've had tension with my mum and for sure, there's been other family dramas but these have always occupied little mental space. Like even at upsetting times, I just wanted to clear the mess up so I could concentrate on other things.

5th harmonic - sun t-squ, opp Saturn, sq Mars, trine Venus

Creative areas are a great source of frustration, I love beauty, art both quells and fuels depression . A huge part of my life, I could just put this on my gravestone. Same as having Venus-sq Saturn in natal, it represents that fun/pleasure always come at a cost, there's often an obstacle

6th harmonic - merc conjunct Pluto in a t-sq opp Uranus, sq Venus. Trine sun, sextile moon

This is very active (is that because my Suns in 6th?) which makes sense because work and daily routines are a really big factor in my life. My parents both undoubtedly contributed to this too (sun and moon aspecting) with unusual work routines in tension with other very habitual ones e.g at times my mum studied full-time, dad ran his own business, dad had a long sabbatical. There's an either/or quality involving intensive research, ideas and self-directed work that typifies my work exp. I'd also end up in research roles at work or quality assurance as I was good at this whilst hankering for more creative pursuits.

7th harmonic - Venus conjunct moon, trine Saturn

Very loving, very serious. This doesn't adequately represent my relationships but it does capture the meringue quality by which ... When I experience love, it is extremely beautiful and also quite serious but it's all abstracts of love without the substance of a r/ship - the marriage, the milestones, the normal life.

8th harmonic - Pluto conj Mercury & Venus in a t-sq opp sun/Mars, sq Jupiter

Again, this is very defining part of my psyche as rep here. Very obsessive, ridiculous mental expenditure. Lacking in interpreting these aspects enough to describe but this feels very right especially with Jupiter as belief is also involved. I suppose I could fit any aspects into an interpretation so will just leave it at the activity is a true representation and the planets feel right.

In summary, the harmonic no. Planet which forms a t-sq in that harmonic are very significant depictions to me, of that area.

These are -

3rd - Mercury-Neptune / Uranus / Pluto
5th - sun / Mars / Saturn
6th - Mercury-Pluto / Venus / Uranus
8th - Venus-Pluto-Mercury / Jupiter / sun-mars
10th - sun-Saturn / Uranus / Mars

I got tired so might edit the rest in after. Also I'm quite lacking at analysing aspects that I don't know anything about

But I definitely think the most active harmonic no. does describe a very active corresponding part of my psyche first and life, secondary.

Can you see any patterns or insights looking at yours? Or am I misunderstanding harmonics?

Aw thank you I was hoping you'd give some clarity as I know you have harmonics experience and really wasn't sure if this was a complete miss.

Please come back if you find anything interesting in your chart as my limited interpretations of aspects were a big obstacle here.

I just looked for the first time ever at my 2nd harmonic chart, and wow, instantly was drawn to the two Yods in it. lol

Moon sextile Saturn to Uranus
Jupiter sextile Pluto to Sun-Mercury-conjunction

I disgress though:

2nd harmonic:
Venus opposite MC and Pluto (Venus-Pluto on the wide side at 6 degrees)

Venus sextile Mars-ASC, which means that it`s open to form a Yod with someone`s planets

3rd harmonic:

Mercury conjunct Sun (it`s so tight in the natal chart, it is being carried over in the lower harmonics)

a Grand trine of
Mercury-Sun trine MC trine Saturn

Mercury sextile Mars exact (almost begging for someone transforming this into a Yod again )

4th harmonic

Another Yod-harmonic for me, this time

Mercury sextile Pluto to Moon

Hence the important Moon in 4th harmonic chart being the apex here

Moon squares Neptune-NN, too

Moon trine Saturn

5th harmonic

Sun conjunct Mercury, square Uranus

6th harmonic

dominated by a t-square of

Moon opopsite Saturn square Uranus

also

Mercury conjunct Sun, square Neptune - NN and trines Mars-ASC

so having some empty spaces to invite other planets too

I like playing around

Even though personally I wouldn´tr really do the equation of 4th harmonic = 4th house, though I know Vedic does it. So I am open to it, yet hesitantly sceptical.

the 4th harmonic is actually highlighting 4th harmonic aspects, conj, opp. and square. which fall as conjunction in this chart.

That's a very helpful way to put it - highlighting.

I suppose my thinking was ... Is the first harmonic the full natal, undivided chart? If it is, the 2nd by 2, 3rd by 3 etc. That's what I was assuming .. If it is, isn't the first (natal) like Aries ... The newborn baby, oneness. If the signs could correspond like that, I was thinking it could translate to planets. Well, I wasn't thinking concretely really .. It was more working backwards from noticing the 5th and 6th harmonic paint a tension, in specific areas, that I'm not sure my chart captures.

Would persona of planets work that way? Must have a look again at those.

I'd really like to learn more about harmonics but I'm reluctant to get too wrapped up in all the details.

I like playing too.
