What indicates good musical ability and a strong singing voice? I'm a Taurus sun and it's obviously widely known that Taurus rules the throat and thus people with many Taurus placements (I only have the sun in Taurus and it's on the cusp) are good singers, but what else? I have Venus and Mercury in my 10th Aries which are said to be good placements for Venus and Mercury in terms of a successful career in singing, but I don't want a career in singing, I just want to do it (and also learn guitar) for fun; also my Venus is in detriment being in Aries anyways. Chiron is exactly conjunct my Leo 2nd house cusp, so I don't think that's good since I've read it takes a strong 2nd house to be musically-inclined. What other placements are important? I've been wanting to pick up guitar and start singing for the longest time just for fun. IP: Logged |

venus and Neptune so.. Taurus influence specifically.. Neptune in the 3rd house.. angular venus/Neptune

I'm very sure from my progressions that Aries does rule ears just different part
Aries. I may be wrong but I believe Aries rules the outer part of the ears- the part that senses loudness. Just from some progressions I experienced I know anything connected to a part of the body, the more you are connected, the more you utilize it-meaning the ears, the more you pay attention and hear sound, the more you pay attention to it in your mind, and since humans are artistic, will use the sound in artistic ways, thinking up melodies and singing and such. Also you might notice people with strong Aries/First house might talk quieter than others. This is because they can sense their voice really loudly themselves. IP: Logged |

I am a singer and I have Neptune, Venus and Mercury in the 3rd.
Ruler of the 3rd is Jupiter.
Jupiter quintiles Venus.
Pars Fortunae in the 5th.
MC in Leo sq. Jupiter.
Libra rising.Singing for me gives a voice to things I cannot speak very well of, so I write of them and cover the abstract feelings and atmosphere through composing the music to accompany them, then sing them.
Everything I have written comes from deep thought or emotional chaos, I fail completely at 'light' songs. As for being "good", I cannot judge this myself, I have been told such though, from a young age.

For Mr Sag, who is a singer, Venus-Neptune does not show in the longitudinal aspects, however he has a loosish Venus-Neptune-parallel (0°54); and the ruler of his 3rd house, Mercury, is parallel Neptune (0°50)
(in the declinations that means that Mercury is basically on the Venus/Neptune-mp by 2 minutes).Mercury rules his 3rd, 4th and 7th house.
Venus rules his 2nd and intercepted 7th
Neptune rules his 1st. (Aries is intercepted in 1st house, which puts Taurus on the 2nd house cusp)

I have a wide (6°) Venus-Neptune conjunction, with Venus sextile and parallel to Mercury, and I cannot sing to save my life.I do try though. I'm working on it. Sometimes I think, once I learn to sing, a lot of other problems in my life will magically clear away....you know, I'd be finding my voice. IP: Logged |

I am learning to sing(Neptune trine Mercury and the Sun)My teacher says most people can learn to sing but it is inhibitions that really stop adults. You will be much better if you start as a child, generally speaking. ------------------

I sing and I have Venus in Libra in the 2nd house...My South Node is in Taurus in the 9th house. Mercury is in Leo in the 12th house. I think those aspects matter?? IP: Logged |

I am an electronic musician and do have musical ability, but I cannot sing to save my life (I hate the way my voice sounds recorded anyways, and I don't want to believe that it's how I really sound lol). Mercury rules my eleventh, Venus rules my twelfth, seventh and eighth; and Neptune rules my fifth. Jupiter in Pisces in the 5th
Venus conjunct South Node in Aqua in the 4th
Mercury conjunct Neptune exact in Aqua in the 3rd
Three way conjunction between Merc-Neptune-Sun
Moon trine Neptune (wide)
Merc + Neptune in T-Squares with Mars-Saturn opposition
Venus in Point of Thales with Mars-Saturn opposition (trine Mars, sextile Saturn).
Mercury sextile Jupiter (wide)
Mercury-Neptune sextile Chiron exact
Jupiter trine Chiron Lots of aspects lol. Not positive that they all correspond to creativity, but they could in various ways. I'm also thinking if the Moon may have something to do with it, since art in itself is a form of emotional expression, and therefore the way one handles one's emotions can describe how their art comes to fruition? In that case:
Moon in Gemini in the 8th, opposite Pluto exact.
Sun and Uranus conjunct both Trine Moon and sextile Pluto, forming Point of Thales. If MC is included, they become Mystic Rectangles.

There are lots and lots (and lots...) of Gemini singers. Perhaps even more Libra. And surprisingly, Capricorn. Leo makes for good performers but not as much for the creative/composer side perhaps. I'd look for strong Venus and Mercury placements. Uranus probably plays a role too (communicating with the masses)IP: Logged |

It really depends on what kind you are referring to.For a strong powerful singing voice that puts you in awe look for fire (esp in the sun or moon). Whitney Houston is a Leo. Lisa Fischer and Christina Aguilera are Sag. However Aries comes in at #1 for this with the likes of Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis, Lady Gaga, Kimbra, etc. For a beautiful / sweet ethereal voice look for Pisces moon specifically. Otherwise Pisces has more of an unconventional voice (Rihanna, Erykah Badu, Nina Simone, etc). None listed are very strong / good singers but the voice can have an unexplained pied piper effect. Like Pisces Moon, Venus in Pisces tends to sing better than Pisces Sun. For a voice that is both sweet yet powerful look for Cancer or Taurus. Lovely. Libra can fall here too but more on the sweet side. If a Libra (or any of the sweet singers for that matter) happen to have an unusually powerful voice look for fire. Adele is a Taurus with Sag moon (fire). Toni Braxton and Ashanti both have Sag moon (fire). Teena Marie (Sag Moon), you better go listen to Fire and Desire like right now...now! LOL Caps typically have smooth, mature, pensive and sultry voices but not necessarily phenomenal (Sade,Dido, etc). The men seem to have much better voices than the women (Tank, R.Kelly, etc.). The amazing Shirley Bassey is a Cap but she is an exception. Her moon is said to be in Scorpio, but based on it being literally one degree away from Sag (coupled with her voice and extravagance) I'm sure she has a Sag moon. Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce both have Leo Mars. So always look for that fire influence if a power-house voice seems unusual for the sign. Geminis are rappers. Period. They are the best rappers on the planet lol. None of the other signs / placements guarantee good singing ability from what I've observed (some may have it some may not). Scorpio is not always the best singer but I feel they still deserve an honorable mention. Their voices can (whether it sounds like heaven or sounds like nails on a chalk-bored) can stir so much feeling an emotion in you. You get the feeling they mean every word and are connected to the whole experience. I love Pagan Poetry by Bjork and Bryan Adams can do no wrong in my book. So that's my take on singing ability. I have strong Aquarius in my chart too (Sun conjunct Uranus, Aqua Stellium including Sun, Merc, Neptune, Uranus, and Venus), so the Aquarian bits should be pretty evident lol. ------------------
