So, I have been planning to ask you some questions about my daughters health. I do not want to post her chart as I am anxious as to what people might say and it might influence my feelings. Not right now, maybe later?

In June my daughter has been diagnosed with Juvenile idiopathic artritis. She does have some natal indicators like Moon in 1st house. When the first inflammation started in her left knee transiting Saturn was exactly conjunct her natal Sun in Sag in the 4th house. This was the second hit. The first hit happened in February 2016. This was when the awful fights with her two friends started and is, in my view, most definitely the trigger for the inflammation. The second hit was just after a few months when she had experienced some nasty fights. It was emotional and she was so so angry but only expressed her anger with me, at home. It was after this period, end of April her knee started to inflame and walking was impossible. The second hit of Saturn conjunct her Sun. (typical right?)

She is on medication and these are working very well. For me (as a side note) this was an awfully emotional process as I am the all naturel type. There was so much resistance and it made me stressed. So I had to transform this, cope with it, handle it and I did (not entirely but good enough). We have a good rheumatologist and I am doing a few things paralel to this (like alternative healing methods, foods and supplements).

Anyways. My question is, what does a third hit mostly do? I am not even sure you can say anything sure about it. The culmination point? What are the possibilities?

I am a firm believer of healing any disease even when the docs say it's not possible. It's not like they say this in this case because a lot will grow over JIA. But a big part of her healing will benefit from working on or getting a handle on her fiery emotions. This disease is making her aware and Saturn wanting her to release etc..

She is doing very well now. Saturn conjunct our IC's (we have the same Asc)

My colleagues daughter also suffered from this when T. Saturn hit her natal Sun! Awesome astro research!

What else is/was happening in her chart? A few. North Node conjunct Ascendant and sq. her Sun and Jupiter there as well. Neppy in 6th almost conjunct Descendant. She has Uranus unaspected in her 6th. Don't you just find this such a Uranus thing to happen? Auto immunity?

Anyway, a last hit by Saturn somewhere in nov. 2016. Maybe some of you have good examples of transits and their retro fases and hits. I have myself but relationship related.

Thanks so much!

Sorry you two are going through that. I'm glad you understand the physchological and astrological triggers that may be a factor.

My daughter suffered from depression and phobias when Saturn was rolling over her sun. It was a seriously awful period of her life. I have a picture I took of her at an amusement park, and her eyes are so deeply sad.

She also had Lyme disease and Bell's Palsey for a time, until the antibiotics got it under control.

To answer your question: the last hit of Saturn seemed the most solution-oriented. Honestly, we decided on laughter as the best medicine, and I encouraged her to watch comedy shows and take things less seriously. She's an 8H Scorpio sun and really needed to learn this.

Great documentary on the healing effect of laughter, by the way: Laughology...trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qgSam2Pjcc

I'm glad you've been able to get your daughter out of pain....and happy you believe in natural medicine.

As you may know, natural sodium (not table salt) can be an excellent arthritis remedy. Zucchini is rich in natural sodium, so is goat milk:

Anyway, best wishes

Aw thank you soooo much sweet Faith!!!
That documentary seems awesome!!! I want to watch it. My daughter and I are one laughable pair. We frequently scream with laughter. She asks me:" mommy, are we going to do this again tonight?" And, we eat a lot of zucchini. Maybe I should let her eat some more, more, more! I will make her some raw spaghetti soon; zucchini spaghetti with some fresh tomato sauce I make (from the blender). It's amazing and so tasteful!!

I love your tips!! I have visited the site and will look into it some more!! Cannot get enough tips on this! I have been doing a lot of reading ever since she has this condition. I am a real pit bull what this is concerned.

Okay, so you are saying more solution based. That sounds just like I thought and of course what I like to hear. Do you also think it will help to check out the rulership? Saturn is ruler over her 5th house so 5th house things might help her? Just popped into my mind.

So did your daughter get cured from depression or is she prone to it? Did the solution come with the third hit? I know someone else, born on the same day as my daughter, she is depressed and will attend therapy. Right ... Saturn ....

I love your enthusiasm. Thank you!

The final hit was last summer. Well one thing is, she needed certain things, needed to be able to dictate some terms about her life, needed to feel in control. We made huge concessions for her. For instance, she was afraid of sailing and that was the main reason we sold our boat. She couldn't bear to sell our summer house so we kept it one more year. My family was grumbling a bit like, "Is she just going to determine everything?" but I saw it as a phase of hers, and honestly I was going to do ANYTHING to get her out of that funk. It's not like she was faking the depression. And I knew she wasn't going to become spoiled because of it.

Another thing that helped her seriously is astrology. Not sure how you feel about introducing your daughter to it? But I talked to my daughter about being a Scorpio. She had thought she was just nuts for being depressive, and I used astrology to convince her, "This is just the way life is." It was actually a kind of turning point for her, she felt okay with herself again.

Her best friend is also a Scorpio, which helps, because they lean on each other through everything. And they're both funny.

She is not really depressive anymore. She can be too silly and flaky but that's easing off, too. I think she is rounding out and getting pretty strongly on balance.

A lot of it also just has to do with their age, you know? Pre-adolescent girls can just feel all tumultuous inside.

Not sure about house rulers.....but Saturn rules my daughter's Cap MC which is conjunct Chiron. So, there is another layer of pain. Currently she is attending a medic camp where she learns the basics of working in an ambulance, and she is entertaining the idea of being an emergency medical responder. What a nice expression of Chiron-MC that would be.

Anyway, just take comfort knowing that you are doing the best you can for your daughter and, you are an AWESOME mother, I'm positive...it will most likely get better, and you will feel so relieved when it's all a distant memory!

Good luck to both of you!

(I might erase some of this later because I feel like I made this post too long!)

I'm sorry your daughter is going through that, and that you have to witness it.
Like Faith said, a lot of it has to with age as well. Girls need a steady, comforting hand at such a time. They need to know there's some place to come home to, that you'll love them no matter what. It's just a phase, and I don't think those reasons consciously trigger anything, but sub-consciously, they act out because there's a *lot* brewing beneath the surface that they haven't learned to get a handle on just yet.

I'm sure you're doing your best.. And all you can do is be there for her, and introduce her to a way of thinking that helps her feel okay with who she is(astrology, as Faith said, can do wonders like that). I too truly started accepting myself once I started studying astrology.
Wish you and her the best and good health..

Aw, you two, thank you so much for the kind words!! Really does me so much good!

Faith, what a lovely mother you are! How old is she? My daughter is 11. Yours is a little older right? I talk to her about astrology but nothing to deep yet. But she does know a few things. I talk to her about her emotions, about her maybe being too hard on herself, too critical etc. All in baby steps. I mustn't overwhelm her. Although I sometimes do, can't help myself

As a mother you work on your intuition. Like your story about all the concessions. Outsiders will always think something of it. And even if she will get something out of it which wasn;t intended by you or your husband, then it has always been done with the best intentions and the carefully selected thoughts that made you decide. We all do our best and that's what we can do. I can sometimes slap myself on the head for stuff, after all, I do have to behave like my Virgo rising. No, seriously, I do, but I also don't. I am looking at all sides and more (typical Gemini way of thinking) and will make sure we are having FUN FUN FUN!!! When we have to be at the hospital I always joke around with the people there. Just ease up everyone!
So the final hit was about things falling into place, more awareness?
Thank you so much for taking the time!!

Elysia, thank you for the well wishes!! Yes, she needs a good base camp and we are providing this for her. I too think this is a phase.

Always great talking with you, Sylven.

Thank you, perfectly said, exactly!

My daughter is 13.

Just realized one more thing:

Delayed reaction that shouldn't have been delayed!

Cap affects the knees, Saturn rules the bones and joints, right?

"Capricorn : The knees, joints of the body and the hair." http://www.homeoint.org/morrell/astrology/medical.htm

Lyme Disease also hits the joints...hmm.

Well in our case, the medical issue was resolved. Hope it works out the same way with your daughter!! Sounds like you are doing the absolute best you can...I loved reading about how you keep things looking bright and enthusiastic.

@Elysia

Hi! Glad you understand what I meant about girls at that age just being generally vulnerable, kinda plagued with issues that sometimes manifest physically (stomachaches, digestion, anemia, etc.)

And...

I too truly started accepting myself once I started studying astrology.

It just helps make sense of everything.

I love talking, and talking to you dear!! You are such a sweetie!!

I have just had a cool conversation with one of my neighbours who studies to become an orthomolecular therapist. We have also talked about the psychosomatics behind disease. I love talking about these things!! As you maybe know I am a psycho therapist and I love health stuff and healthy foods (south node Virgo 12th). So really getting my hands on this rawks!!
She said she has learned one of the things people with rheumatism experience is a suffocating mother. Haha, it was so cool to see I didn't take this at all personal. It has been different in the past. In the past I would have taken it personally and it would have been more difficult to work on it. We have talked about this and I thought about the way she may be experiencing things and how I am and can be (with all the best intentions). She has PLuto/Moon square and she is an only child. One of the other things is the fiery emotions she has and couldn't regulate. We really talked about the whole picture. Also about cold showers (have you heard of the Iceman?) to wake up the immune system and supplements and the whole thing. Also about the family, us, at home and the communication. About mindful eating, gluten free etc.. It was a very exciting conversation!! And all this father Saturn gives us!! How can we be negative about Saturn? !!!

It's exciting because I don't shy away from changes in my way of doing but I don't know if my husband is willing to do that. I mean, I have Pluto in 1 and am very accustomed to doing that and I love it and I actually have no choice.

And yes!! Saturn and the bones and joints!! Yes!!

Anyway, I see this all as a gift!

13?! Yep, similar age though. The sweet hearts!!

She is tested on Lyme, negative (still doesn't say anything because the spirochetes are excellent in hiding themselves.

My daughter now also has her eye infected which can be part of this jia and she got more medicine just yesterday. :'(
I read somewhere that the eyes are the midpoint between the Asc and the second house. Strikingly her Moon is this midpoint. She is afraid which is so understandable!! I really hope this whole thing will fly over soon! Really also will change the diet; no sugar, gluten, dairy etc. Lot's of veggies etc.

Life has pretty much changed after a very nice holiday. Saturn conjunct IC sucks big time! I feel helpless and my daughter feels scared. I have no real question, I realise, but I am hoping some astro support from other members?
We didn't think she would have a big chance on an eye infection as well but she has it and with the prednison eye drops it might ease up but it can also cause damage. Sigh!! Our only choice is to be positive, eat well, sleep well and ENJOYING ourselves. We will have to see how this goes.

(((Hugs to you and daughter)))). So sorry you are going through all this. Current transits are hitting a lot of people HARD and I wish I had good insights to offer. Just stick together and love each other.
