This is for Luke. I love people’s suggestions. Keep them coming, please! The North Node
The North Node is that to which we aspire. The NN takes us out of our comfort zone. For example, some people are tongue tied at a party. They may have the NN in Gemini, the sign of the party girl or guy.
Some people are intimidated by deep passions. They may have the NN in Scorpio.
Some people are intimidated by creativity, especially when it involves a public presence, such as singing before others. They have have a NN in Leo.
In terms of Houses, some people may be shy. They may have a NN in the first house.
Some people may be intimidated in the area of making money. They may have a NN in the second house.
Some people may be insecure about their sexuality. They may have a NN in the eighth house.
I hope you see the pattern here.
The Angles
Let’s discuss the Angles. There are the Ascendant, IC, Descendant and MC. Each represents a focal point of one’s life.
The Ascendant
The Ascendant represents one’s daily walk through life. Think of how you would handle a situation in which you want to return an item and the store clerk says no.
A Libra Ascendant would try to make a harmonious bridge between what she wanted and what he wanted. She may split the difference.
An Aries Ascendant may threaten to punch him( exaggerated for literary purposes)
A Scorpio Ascendant may give him a death scare.
A Leo Ascendant may make up a story about his grandmother falling in the toilet due to the faulty plunger that grew two heads as she tried to plunge it.
Hence, we can see an example of how the Ascendant operates in our daily sphere of activities.
The IC
The IC is one’s childhood home. We can use two planets to see how the IC functions in the chart. If one has a potent planet such as Pluto conjunct his IC, one may have had a very turbulent childhood. If one has Jupiter conjunct his IC, one may have had a happy childhood.
The Descendant
The Descendant is the angle of the partner. This angle can be a struggle in that one searches for the TRAITS of the planets touching the DSC in one’s partners. In other words, if Pluto conjuncts the DSC, one may look for powerful partners.
If the Moon conjuncts the DSC, one may look for an emotional partner to express one’s own emotions.
I call this the co-dependent angle.
The MC
The MC is the angle of society and career. That which touches the MC will be seen by the public. I have Moon conjunct the MC.
Moon conjunct the MC is destined to show his heart to the world.
Pluto conjunct the MC will show his power to the world. Think of Putin. His power comes out through his pores. Think of Michael Corleone in Godfather Two.
Now, we go onto the subject of our article—The North Node conjunct the Angles.
The ASC is the angle of daily life. If the NN conjunct the Ascendant, the person’s purpose has to do with some activity/activities in daily life.
The IC is the angle of childhood. If the NN conjuncts the IC, the person may have to make peace with his early childhood or the person is called to be a mother and/or a housewife.
The DSC is the angle of the partner. If the NN is conjunct the DSC, the person will, likely, feel incomplete without a partner
The MC is the angle of society. If the NN conjuncts the MC, the person may feel his purpose is to have a career. He may be a public figure in his own, personal world or the world at large.
