So I have been informed a number of times that I tend to come off as a "snob" or at least that's who people think I am before they truly get to know me. (Mind you I have social anxiety so it does make me more introverted and quiet. People tend to take my lack of direct communication as snobbiness.) I have an aries ascendant, ruler-mars in 8th house in scorpio. Venus (in leo) square mars (exact), saturn (in taurus) oppose mars, mercury square mars (wide orb) and saturn square mercury (exact). Pluto trines my asc exact. I have moon conjunct neptune (exact, aquarius) in the 10th house. Jupiter square moon. Sun in virgo (5th house) square pluto. What aspects do you think would make someone appear as a snob? I think it's mainly my mars (ruler) in 8th house - kind of gives lots of depth to my personality.. a lot that people don't see at first. Saturn square mercury - I imagine contributes a great deal to my lack of verbal communication and moon conjunct neptune makes me daydream excessively (so I'm not always "there" in the present moment..) -The snobbiness is usually just a first impression people get, I really am quite a nice person. Venus square mars can give a standoffish vibe. At least I've noticed that in people.Mercury square Saturn would make you edit, censor, rehearse, chaperone everything you say. You can't quite express yourself freely due to fear, so everything goes through your inner editor. Mars opposite Saturn makes you overthink about every action before taking it. The impulsive, spontaneous, and "strike when the metal's hot" nature of Mars is subdued. Overly cautious drive-nature. IP: Logged |

Sun square Pluto can give a lot of inner tension, at least early on in life. People may sense it as directed towards them even though it's more of an internal thing. The first impression thing of being a snob probably stems from these aspects. Good thing first impressions are just that - first impressions! IP: Logged |

Capricorn risings can have this unfortunate appearance of 'too good for you'. Not all Cappy risings, but about half of them can suffer from this. Also, Saturn in the 1st house can give a similar effect. IP: Logged |

Aquarius moon right up there in H10 could give off some snob waves imo. Aqua moon is kinda ahead of curve and aloof. H10 means everyone sees it. Snobs are good though. Someone ought to have taste IP: Logged |

Hah I wasn't about to comment, because although the similar thing has happened to me, it was only a few times and hence not frequent enough to call it a thing. But then I read of Sulkyarcher's comment about cap asc and 1st house saturn (I have both), the "too good for you" described the thoughts of the other people. So I think I wanna share my experiences.I'd say that each time it was less about me appearing as a snob, it was more about other people projecting onto me. So I wouldn't call it unfortunate. If anything, it helps to weed out the unwanted ones, and leave me with people who have their head on straight. I have 1st house saturn conj ascendant. And 12th house placements. When my s.o first introduced me to his friends, some of his friends thought I was "high maintenance". That was just from the first sight. What do you know, it turned out that the ones who thought that way had major issues in their love life, and to a certain extent, with women (and people) in general. His sister even went as far as saying "Don't even think that you're better than us", out of the blue. I knew for a fact it was her issues, coz I was always low key around them. So I looked her in the eyes and asked "Do you think I'm better than you?" and smiled a Cheshire cat smile. The look on her face lol. In the past, usually I tried to be understanding, but then I stopped because heh, no fun. Feed their "impressions", eventually they'll drown in their own stew lol. IP: Logged |

Isn't that just human nature? I don't mean that all do it, but it seems incredibly common. People are insecure and hypersensitive to any possible slights against them and generally assume the worst, which is why many brokering deals tend to have an elaborate system of showing all sorts of interest and respect with those they deal with (and I've found it necessary because if I was less than enthusiastic then some people felt uncomfortable in my presence as if I was judging them or something if I wasn't radiant in their presence and praising them). I laughed at the definition of "**** " I came across being "a woman who has sex with everyone but you" because of all the men who have assumed I was just too stuck up ("stuck up ***** " is something I've frequently heard) not to show interest in their flirtation (or even refuse them casual sex), that is they think I would've responded as they wished but something about them put me off, that I was thinking "I can do better." Though it's not just that, refusing to smoke with, drink with, drug with, or plenty of other things can also make you seem stuck up rather than simply not interested, and it doesn't matter if you're male or female. That is, if you don't drink with someone, it doesn't even occur to them that you don't drink, but rather think that you just won't drink with HIM (therefore you're rejecting him rather than the alcohol). Some just don't like anyone who isn't cringing and stuttering, sometimes because they can't manipulate those who aren't, but others because it makes them wonder why they can't be that way and to hate (that is they feel inferior and thus assume I made them feel inferior on purpose, just as some guys turned on by me when I don't even notice them feel I did so on purpose and with full knowledge of my actions). But as common as that all is, it's not like everyone is that way. Plenty see me in unusual ways, even face to face (where they can't imagine a "tone" or "fill in the blanks" in other ways that are silly to me, but reflexive to them). Sometimes this can be to the point of putting me on a pedestal or imagining me as a monster of some kind. Some see me as casual and laid back, others consider me snobby because I'm not chasing them for their flattery (in exchange of constant flattery of my own to them). So if there is astrology involved here then it includes the synastry, not just an individual chart. IP: Logged |

I have been told this, although I definitely am not. The aspects I have that I think because this are maybe Saturn conj. MC. Or maybe Venus conj. Saturn? Anyways, I think Saturn is involved. IP: Logged |

^ I got that sometimes (always from random men). Sometimes it's "You'll look prettier if you smile. I always tell them to fk off. Or something similar. The only time I didn't really mind was when an old man (he's my neighbour now) gave me a rose and went "Can I get a smile, darling?". He had the most charming, sweet little smile ever and I just...melted lol. IP: Logged |

Oh ya they say that to me "look prettier if you smiled"....lol.... maybe I was being creeped on and I didn't realize. Maybe it has nothing to do with my cappy rising then LOL quote: Originally posted by 12muddy: ^ I got that sometimes (always from random men). Sometimes it's "You'll look prettier if you smile. ^ Haha I think so. A lot of my friends get told to smile too and they don't have cap rising, or even a lick of cap in their personal planets. IP: Logged |
