I've always wondered this. Does the way you express natal chart positions change as you grow older. As a little kid, I was such a leo sun!! Very loud and energetic and happy-go-lucky.. bossy and definitely enjoyed being in the spotlight (quite literally, I loved to perform). I also portrayed the leo sun/gemini mars qualities perfectly through the above characteristics.

Now I barely identify with my leo sun. I hate being 'on stage' and have grown to become very introverted. (I was born on the cancer/leo cusp) and the description of a cancer fits me through and through. I'm definitely more nurturing, motherly, caring, sweet etc.than I ever was before. Now my mars in gemini manifests in being very verbal and verbose/great with words. My venus in virgo is also prominent now more than ever (I have major OCD when it comes to cleanliness and order, and I'm extremely conscious of my public image-social propriety and decorum).

I'm only 22 btw. And I have gone through some [many] traumatic experiences that could explain my change of pwrsonalty. The nature/nurture argument would be interesting to study here.

I felt like the older I get the more in touch I get with my Capricorn moon. I am pisces sun and when I was younger I used to be real pisces, still am I guess, but I do feel my moon more now. but that might be because of tpluto conjuncting it

I would love to hear what others think.

I really dont like it, but i am growing more and more into my Asc in Aries.

Individuality, being on my own, doing my own thing and resenting people who get in my way, are increasing as i grow older.

My Libra Mars is splitting this energy. Now i see what is meant by "detriment". Its as if i am at war with myself many times.

The only time that this energy converges with the Aries expression is when i am voicing my opinion about the injustices in this world. Or when i am arguing with a mate.

I want to be alone, but i also realize that i really enjoy sparring with someone. So frustrating

That's not exactly how I see it.
I don't think that I've began expressing different placements.
I think I've began expressing the SAME placements differently.

Leo Suns evolve into Virgo Suns... Scorpio eventually branches out into Sagittarius... within 30 years of age, we all change our Sun signs... it's the natural progression of things. You're probably describing the effects of secondary progressions, OP. Do you know when/if your Sun entered Virgo by secondary progression? A look at an ephemeris would tell you... find the year you were born and count a day for a year until the Sun changes signs. What happened that year?

Of course many other factors, transits, etc could contribute to what you are describing... And I certainly have noticed that we express different qualities of our signs and symbols throughout our lives. However, I think you've intuited the effect of secondary progressions on your life. Well done!

Bernadette Brady, in her book about Predictive Astrology- The Eagle and the Lark- she describes the progressions of the Sun signs very clearly and beautifully. She makes reference to several historical figures, and how their progressions were in evidence in the way they lived their lives.

If you're born near the end of a sign, your solar sign energy changes sooner. If nearer the beginning, you have a longer way to go before you move on to the next sign.

I hear you, saadsarah, regarding your difficulties, and wish you well.

I actually have a similar story. When I was young I was crazy about performing (Leo Midheaven)... I've never made the connection before, but something definitely shifted when that Midheaven switched out. I was a ham, needed center stage, the spotlight. I can still command a stage and stuff, but being appreciated and revered and celebrated isn't my primary focus in terms of how I present anymore. I'm more shy, more reserved... I'm distinctly more Virgoan in my total approach these days, although given that my Midheaven has progressed to conjunct my South Node of the Moon, this complicates the picture a bit

Exactly like I am virgo but often people will think I am libra or sag! I am a virgo at the decan of libra so must of my life till this year I had progressed sun in Libra and now is in Scorpio conjuncting my natal saturn.

I also have Jupiter conjunct Uranus in the 1st with southnode in Sag so that is why people pick up on sag as well in me but I have the dark watery big eyes and curly freezy hair often associated with scorpio rising and how I react automatically to my environment is very scorpio etc...

I will also add that most children I would say tend to be a bit like Leos to some extent after all leo rules children for a reason.

^^ Ahh yes, you do have progressed Sun in Scorpio conjunct Saturn now It is so interesting to observe people and then learn their placements/how they evolve. you have a distinct maturity about you these days, hope you don't mind my saying.

"I will also add that most children I would say tend to be a bit like Leos to some extent after all leo rules children for a reason."

Yes that's a good point, but I was especially ostentatious... wearing butterfly wings to school, and enormous fluffy dresses, despite standing out like a sore thumb (now that's the Aqua IC at play too of course!). I think the OP likely noticed she was a bit more flamboyant than most of her peers too.

I got the lead roles at school (this changed when I was in high school), was celebrated as a responsible student, received awards, I danced on the street, I sang for complete strangers... being Leonine was my forte... I'm no longer motivated by applause though... it doesn't work for me anymore anyway. When I show off things go badly. Obviously as a kid you get away with it ... Well, some do... no two children are the same.

But many children, if not inhibited by fear and strictures of various kinds, will do variations of this kind of thing, the hamming it up, but not all, and performing isn't central to every child's life. The ones you see really hamming it up probably do have strong Leo placements.

But it's still a good point, that in childhood many of us are less inhibited, and such a good insight, that Leo and the 5th rule children and childhood for very good reason!

I dont mind at all and thanks for sharing this observation with me, its nice to know I am evolving, I am working hard towards that specially lately so thanks for the input/feedback, its helpful. I hope to continue this trend.

Yes one can argue that there a lot of shy kids out there so I agree with you on your analysis but kids like you pointed out even the shy ones are less inhibited as children.

I too would sing and dance in front of others as a kid. My dad would take out the guitar and I would sing with him in front of family ect..Dancing too was a big theme as a child for me including ballet.

I have always stuck out too but in my case it was rough bc I have chiron and BML parallel my AC plus Oscilliating Lilith and Oscilliating Priapus which always oppose squaring my AC, IC in Aqua, jupiter conjunct uranus in the 1st and sun in the 11th squaring neptune with saturn conjunct pluto in the 12th and venus and mars in Leo in the 10th with scorpio rising so group dynamics havent been easy for me and my desire to treat everyone well hasn't always worked for me specially in the context of females quite frankly as venus rules my 12th.

I would say my need for attention has always been kept in check by my sun in virgo I think...

Yeah ditto!!

When I was younger, I relate to my tension A LOT more than I do now.. And do I have a lot of fricken tension in my chart =O my Sun is conjunct Mars in libra by 0 degrees also conjunct Mercury, square Saturn/Uranus/Neptune opposing Jupiter. Jupiter is placed in the 3rd house so maybe that's why this tension is also so prominent when I was growing up? But I was extremely masculine for a little girl haha, complete tomboy, and very fearless, adventurous and wild! I was constantly climbing, taking things apart, building things, making something or just off in my own fantasy world. I was very accident prone and hot tempered, constantly got into fights, verbally or physically, I was just so reckless, the Jupiter/Uranus tension was super obvious when I was little. I was held back in school because I was so disruptive and restless. So whenever I read the 4 squares to my sun, my Mercury and my Mars lol I can relate to it so much when I was younger.. Thank goodness I've learned to handle and control all my energy.

I feel like the way I express my planets now are far more matured and controlled, like evolved in a sense? Learning from all my mistakes and expressing the passions and energies on a more confident and constructive manner, in however many ways I can express that.

Also I moved to Colorado in April again of 2016 and here I have Pluto conjunct Saturn in my 1st house instead of the 12th. This is part of the reason why I felt I found myself in Colorado bc it brings to the first house energy that is usually hiding from me to some extent and really puts it in my face for me to see it clearly.

When I first moved here I had this feeling of finally knowing who I am and finding myself; all of me the good and the bad, the light and the shadow without the influence of my family or others getting in the way of that too...

wonderful. That's all really cool, and good to hear. I read your posts with great interest. I perceived some of those energies too, before, I think... it's really amazing to see it settling out, the dust clearing, your calm and awareness and self possession... Good work with the move, and may you take these realizations and awareness with you wherever you go!

Venus rules my 12th house also (well it's also in my 12th house). I never realized that could give problems with females. In tandem with the Lilith stuff I can certainly see that.. it's hard...

The person I know who gets the most attention and the least ire for the attention she gets has a Virgo Sun. She is an incredibly vivacious, outgoing person, candid and creative and funny and brilliant. A dancer/performance artist, and always in the moment fully.

She gets no flack for the attention she gets, everybody ishappy to give it to her. I think the Virgo Sun helps with that. It's truly pure, humble.
