Heh, not really mad.

It was in some thread on this forum where we got a bit silly and one said I reminded him of Jinx, even showed me the LOL (League of Legends) trailer which I wasn't able to make much sense out of (I thought Pow-Pow was the strange wind up monkey rather than her minigun), but now I know who she is:
http://gameinfo.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/game-info/champions/jinx/#champion-lore

Really, I remind you of her?

Though when someone talked about astrally projecting to Venus to a perfect society later on, I shared that trailer myself saying it was spooky how much it was like the last time I astrally projected to Venus which made me wonder who was watching.

It was from a thread I think 3-4 years ago, something I think about a specific placement, and I believe another one of those "is everyone with this placement a big cosmic mistake that should have never been born?" (Not literally, but that would about sum it up. Of course I could easily mistake it for other threads at the time, and it's a fairly common one in this forum.) Naturally, it was many pages long.

Me and at least one other (the one who said I reminded him of Jinx) got a bit silly. He and I got into our own private conversation in that thread, but I forget the details. Of what I do recall, I wasn't able to use any search terms to find it again through the LL search engine or Google.

He had said something along the lines of he imagined me as Jinx and left that vid (which you can see by clicking on "trailer" in my OP). As a fan of surrealism and silliness I loved it, but didn't understand it...until recently when I began researching LOL characters and found Jinx among them.

I hope he (she?) sees this and remembers it as well as I'd like to talk about it some more now.

Hi,
it wasn't me, but I play LOL Jinx was released less than 3 years ago, as far as I remember. She's one of my top3 favourite characters.

I don't know Pixie, but you don't really remind me of Jinx, judging by your posts. Well, we didn't interract more closely, so hopefully that person is still a member and will see this thread.

Actually, there is one member, who reminds me of Jinx more. I don't remember her user name, but I remember she was from France and a Gemini

Jinx is really fun to play with!

"Hold on! I'm about to say something really cool!"

I just found it and it was about 2 years ago. I don't want to link to it, but suffice to say it wasn't the thread I was thinking of (as I said it might not be above), and many of the links we gave don't work.

It was also 7thGuardian, who I think is female rather than male. (Someone please let me know.)

S/he didn't say Jinx (which is why the Search couldn't find it) but rather linked to a Jinx vid which has since been taken down (since it wasn't LOL who uploaded it, and Jinx still being new and all).

But yeah, I don't see myself as Jinx. I'm not sure which one would be the "greatest fit" for me as I still don't have enough context. I was just curious what inspired the connection.

Though don't get me wrong, Jinx is interesting, and I loved reading about how she did the daring break-in but then left the money when she could've taken it because she wanted to be absolutely sure that they all got the point, that it's not about the money, it's about sheer chaos that won't tolerate law and order anywhere, and Jinx herself can't be made predictable (other than the sheer crusade for pure chaos and disorder, she probably even hates money as it can't help but bring a little order to society that wouldn't otherwise exist and Jinx would probably destroy anything used as a standard of currency if she could get enough of it to cause the standard to collapse).

Maybe more later.

Anyone ever read the SERRAted series? It's urban fantasy that mixes fantastic beings like elves, vampires, and people able to use sorcery in visible ways (lights, lightning bolts, songs that summon spirits, etc) as well as notable psychic abilities (can include visible instant healing of wounds) and the like.

I'm not sure if it's actually part of the series, but there's also a trilogy (at least, though it looks like there's at least one more I didn't hear of until today) featuring Diane Tregarde who is a powerful Wiccan witch and Guardian that sounds a bit like Charmed (I've only seen a couple eps or so of Charmed), or similar to magic in season 6 Buffy (save that it's not a drug). The novels about her and the SERRAted series keep making references to each other so they're in "the same universe" at least, if not the same series. I'm pretty sure that Jinx High inspired the season 1 Buffy episode Witch, though the book was so much better. I mention it because I do think it inspired a Buffy ep (and hey, JINX High), but I should also mention Burning Water which features reincarnation and quite a few other things that are really well done (though the author is just not kind in any of her books that I've read to Thelemites, they always seem to be the bad guys). But then most people here would probably prefer Children of the Night since it features a romance with a blood drinking vampire (who is in turn fighting scary soul eating vampires and a gaki vampire that is much more frightening than the hungry ghosts described in Japanese folklore).

Anyway, I digress. One of the SERRAted series that can stand alone, as many can, is called Chrome Circle (though it would make more sense if Born to Run is read first since Tannim is a main character in that one as well and events there contribute greatly to the events in Chrome Circle, and note that both books also get printed as one book called Chrome Borne). It's a bit complicated to explain, but suffice (I hope) to say, the human mage Tannim (also an expert driver) gets abducted (along with his Mustang, though Underhill reacts poorly to so much "cold iron") at the machinations of the Unseelie Court (and a 9-tail kitsune trickster) into Underhill while others characters of both this world and Underhill go on a rescue ops.

Underhill can be seen as many pocket dimensions folded onto each other, perhaps some would envision it as the astral plane or dreamlands. They range from realms that are almost modern to those that are barely above the stone age (and the scene of ancient gods deciding to hunt the Mustang Tannim and the 9-tail kitsune are racing through their realm... ). There are heavily armored humans with larger than life armor and weapons (probably cold iron to give them an edge over the many critters vulnerable to it, and it also helps protect them from the magic of those creatures) to various kitsune and dragons and more (can't forget the Unseelie elves, the ones that quickly learn to fear steel jacketed bullets).

Well after seeing this trailer, I realized someone could make Chrome Circle (and others of the SERRAted) series into a movie!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzHrjOMfHPY

Having a lot of context from the SERRAted series, I could fit it to that more than I could LOL, so that I'd have thought it started off with a trickster kitsune with a Seelie elf (one that looks and acts as portrayed in SERRAted, especially when Underhill) with the red haired one being an Unseelie elf (they tend to be loners who don't play well with others, though they're generally forced to), the humans described and so on.

And though the 9-tail kitsune are powerful (and not impressed by cold iron), they're still tricksters at heart, as that kitsune was. She wasn't fleeing those assassins, she was TOYING with them, getting them weaker before she struck (and also to save her Seelie elf friend by getting them away from her before they realized she was still alive, and perhaps she'd have continued her game awhile longer had the reappearance of her wounded elf friend not forced her hand).

ETA: that above interpretation is how I'd see it IF it were applied to SERRAted rather than League of Legends. But as this is LOL rather than SERRAted then something else is going on. I repeat, seeing that LOL trailer made me realize that books like Chrome Circle could be made into movies today and that's the point. If any here actually recognize the SERRAted series then so much the better.

ETA 2: A vid on the the kitsune!
