All the energy of our lives can be recognized in the patterns we see everywhere. Acknowledging omens, messages, and spirit whisperings is something we are all intimately engaged with on a regular basis. As we attune to the pulse of the universal current, we can guide ourselves according to its divine inspiration… but it is more like when we play that game where we pretend another person is the mirror, and we imitate one another, and it becomes unclear who is guiding who, exactly… you are simply moving in synchronicity, and sometimes one, and sometimes the other, seems to lead… Are the stars guiding us, or are we shaping our fate? A bit of both. It’s a dance, an enormous, gorgeous dance, of Self with intimate Self…
The heavens are so spacious and beautiful, they comprise a macrocosmic picture of that which occurs on earth. The earth is so beautiful, the ten thousand things… And existence, concept, matter, energy– all is holographic, comprehensible from every angle. As above, so below– we can understand ourselves clearly when we clearly perceive the meaning in the patterns in that great, spacious, endless circle of light and space. As below, so above–an adept can surmise the patterning of the stars based on the evidence of earthly things.
We can identify infinite meaning in the smallest leaf’s veins, or the way a pebble flashes against the water when we throw it. We can enjoy stichomancy, the art off divining by flipping to a “random” page in a book. We can likewise derive complex meaning from the great configurations of galaxies, the turning of the planet, the rising of the Sun– the complex story of our time on earth, our collective narrative, is written everywhere!– if only we have the will to see, and an open heart and mind.
We listen deeply to the messages being offered… the sweet silence of trees, the slow sliding of the river in the evening… and they sing of tangible wholeness, of peace… We listen, and we thrive, as undifferentiated Being, in dynamic, thrilling, holistic participation with That-Which-Is. We cultivate this thrilling (and liberating!) awareness of our inseparability from That-Which-Is. Acceptance brings incredible freedom. It allows us to really ground into our creative faculties. We ARE the creator, and the created. We are the song, and the music, and the musician… anything can blossom from the still, silent place within. Anything, and everything–does!!
This awareness can be reached by many routes, and one of the paths is that of conceptual understanding.
In fact, each of us are the all (and the illusion of separation seems to really be the cause of suffering); yet we have, encoded within us, deeply embedded/integral imprints of the specific energy at play in the time/place of our birth as differentiated human entities. Events also have birth charts. So do buildings. Animals. Plants…
This energy can be identified and consciously channeled and re-formed as time passes, as we learn, and change, grow, and love. This energetic patterning could be referred to as karma, chi, ancestral knowledge–any number of mediumistic concepts can convey the intricate meaning of this patterning. But as the transiting planets move, so too do we… as others awaken, so too do we. The very planetary energies themselves are learning, growing, shifting, changing. The same beings which hung in the sky for an infinite moment and “recorded” our birth, these are the exact beings still transiting, and remembering themselves, and addressing those memories, those themes… they haven’t changed. “My” Venus at 17 Libra is also “your” Venus. It’s the same Venus! She has merely been journeying… dancing around the barn, as it were, and learning from each dancing partner… and singing to us softly, from within, of beauty and harmony and togetherness…
Astrology is the study of unique diversification within a cohesive and deeply connected whole. It is the charting of the non-linear interaction of any moment in time with any other moment in time. It is essentially a study in the synthesis of time and space, the dynamic configuration of our solar system and the stars beyond–everything we can see, or calculate, or imagine– as it moves and changes. We compare one moment with another, and we see the infinite meaning of the dynamism of interrelated moments. We also can see how time is like water, and though it may flow to the sea, and seem thus to be moving in linear fashion, it is always connected, it never was separate, and is constantly being mixed and melded together with itself, evaporating and meeting itself again..
When we let it work on us, when we accept that which is, we find it changing… when we accept nothingness, we find something… when we discover who we truly are, we uncover infinite possibility.
