Hi everyone,

I normally do not let Merc rx get to me, although I have ALWAYS noticed it, always. Even if it was mild, something has always shaken up for me during Merc rx, exes always return, technology ALWAYS gets screwy for me (I have had multiple computers randomly break during these periods in the past), and at least two loved ones have had massive accidents during them as well. I generally try to look at it as a time to reflect and slow down and be careful... but well, right now timing is not on my side.

I have to apply for my Visa for the upcoming year (s) in the netherlands by Sept. 6th, no sooner, and definitely not later. I don't have a choice in this, or else I won't be able to work on any kind of contract until at least January or, worse, I'll have to head back to America. I've had my ups and downs here, but have found my place and heart and soul in Netherlands and really really do not want to leave. I've been following paperwork to the letter but it is super complicated and I do not need any additional astrological hurdles getting in the way. So, naturally, this is all happening during Merc Rx.

I am scared because is this going to mean that if I DO manage to get everything accomplished, it will be a mistake later? Or that I will have trouble to get it done? Either way it feels lose/lose. I don't have reason to think my visa will be rejected, but I'm anxious anyway because, well, yeah. I don't want to get it all approved only to find out it was a mistake later on.

Or, does this not apply since I've BEEN in the netheralnds already for over a year, so I'm technically renewing a visa situation? (A different visa, but to do the same thing I did this time last year).

would love any advice possible. THankssss

I personally never notice anything different during Mercury retro.

But, if you have no choice, then you have no choice. I am sure it will be fine.

thanks. Yeah, I definitely have NO choice about the timing as my current visa will expire on Sept. 6th.

I've never had issues with documents in the past, but I did take a job during merc rx once that didn't work out. So I guess I'm nervous because of that. Still, it's out of my control so I have to do it this way or not at all.

The appointment was made today by the IND here, for September 21st. This is (no surprise I guess) the busiest time of year for immigration here, so that was the ONLY date they were able to give me.

Anyway, deep breaths. I haven't looked at what aspects Merc is making to my chart at that time and almost don't want to look in case I find something potentially stressful.

Not to be negative my girlfriend applied for visa during rx and she doesn't have any rx planets besides Pluto and she didn't get the visa. I'm sorry maybe for you it won't manifest but I personally feel you shouldn't apply during Mercury rx because it happened to us. She applied and went to interview at foreign embassy all during Mercury rx and didn't get the visa.

However when she got denied for visa transit vertex in the 8th house conjunct her natal Chiron in Gemini in the 9th house.

Best of luck either way!

Angel, if I don't apply, I have to go home to the states. As in, have to move and not work in the job I'm in haha. That's the worst case scenario and I'm kind of not capable of erring on that side just because of merc rx. That would be a very extreme and irresponsible approach for me to take here.
Why was she rejected? it sounds like she had aspects being made to her chart which indicated this specifically.

There is no reason for my application to be rejected at all, and almost all paperwork is finalised. It's not a situation in which I am afraid of getting rejected, but your response is similar to what I am reading everywhere about merc rx. It seems very strange to advise not to apply for a visa I have to, when I'm not given an option otherwise (like, it's basically a renewing process once my current visa ends on the 6th).

Not to react harshly, it just seems a little bit cruel to scare me on this thread `has anyone else had better experiences?

I've never had any issues of this nature during a merc rx, and when I had some serious paperwork and passport issues previously I was able to handle them without anything more than just a lot of hassle during merc rx period. So I don't think this is a one size fits all kind of deal.

I've bought vehicles and other things during retrograde and all has been fine.
The ONE AND ONLY thing that I ever do differently is try to look over things a little more. I try to be less impulsive in signing contracts and etc.
There's no reason to actually worry though.

Thank you Dopgang!

I had one appointment today at the US Consulate and I'll have another one to get some documents legalised. I was on the phone with immigration a lot today as well. I agree with you about just making sure to look everything over. What overwhelms me right now is the fact that there are obviously a LOT of details that go into the Visa process. Nothing is missing so far (that I know of!) but I'm somewhat perfectionist about these things and there is a lot depending on this working out,so I had a strong reaction to being told I simply SHOULDN't apply. (Wish I could pass on it and wait, but simply not an option unless I want some big troubles in my life).

In any case, I feel a little less crazy today and more goal-oriented. I've never had major catastrophes during merc. If something fell through, I had a lot of warning prior to.

Anyway thanks again!

You're welcome!

When I bought a car for example. I requested a certain financial institution for my loan which they did. Later they said that they can't and that they had a contract (I think) with another financial institution, which in all honesty is every bit as good and has been.
So I needed to go resign. A little annoyance but it didn't hurt anything.
That's the kinds of things I would expect during this time.

Follow thru with your paperwork. The process was started long before Mercury went Rx. This goes back to the beginning with your first Visa.
This is just part of that process. More than likely it's just time consuming, the important thing here is to not be late or it will turn into a typical Mercury Rx with paperwork errors. You should be fine. Good luck.

Great insight Lala THANK YOU.

The last few days have been extremely productive and focused and all of the paperwork is done and prepared to go, so I am just going to give my trust to the timing and DO THIS.
