I'm aware of the Mercury Rx rule of not purchasing electronics during the retrograde period, but what about other purchases? Like not electronic type stuff and purchasing them online?

Life can't stop when Mercury goes retrograde. Don't be hasty (a rule I generally follow anyway) and you'll be fine.

Happy shopping!

i always exercise caution during mercury retrograde purchases. make sure there is an option to return or have it be a purchase that is not so big that a loss of function would cause too many issues.

obviously you gotta keep living soooo unless you're in a pinch.... maybe its okay =D

Yesterday I purchased three items that have been sitting in my etsy cart for months or weeks. I mean if its something you've been pondering for a while before mercury rx....why not?!

Funny thing though, I got a double shipment in of an order that got canceled a week ago. They didn't even know about the second one so I could've gotten away with a free item but I'm too honest -_-

My sister bought a VW diesel car during a mercury retrograde. Unfortunately, after all the emissions scandals that happened, she can't keep the car. However, she can drive it until January and VW will buy back the car at what she paid, give her between $5000-10,000 as a goodwill settlement, and a $500 gift card.

So in her case, the purchase is not lasting, but it's working out pretty nice in her favor! For what it's worth, her natal mercury is retrograde.

I bought a guitar amp during mercury retrograde and had so many problems with it (reliability, sound, peformance). While having it fixed, I decided to have the tech do some modifications to the amp that I specified. The amp is now amazing and people always ask me about it at gigs. It's a common model and they've never heard one that sounded as good as mine. My natal mercury is also retrograde.

EXACTLY

Eta:
Mercury retrograde happens 3-4 times per year. Let's say it's 3 weeks each time, four totes a year. That's not even including shadow periods, etc.
That's around 3 months a year that people avoid doing certain things.
Now, let's look at a 40 year period, say age 20 to age 60.
You then spend 10ish years of your life avoiding certain things.

Not for me. No thanks.

I can empathize. I bought an iron once during mercury rx and then next time it went retro again, the iron broke.

To clarify, I originally meant big purchases. Like furniture or new household appliances.
