Hello. I have Saturn in 3rd house and I'm trying to figure out how to best prepare for my Saturn Return. I've had multiple sources claim my Saturn Return will be difficult and I believe that's possible, but I'm not sure what to expect in general. Is there any way I can determine the best way to handle it in advance? My Saturn is in Aquarius.

Is your natal Saturn retrograde by any chance?

The Saturn return of itself is not difficult necessarily. A lot depends on the configurations of your birth chart and the mindset with which you approach it and the circumstances involved.

What to expect generally is that it is a time in which you have a chance at a new understanding of responsibility as it relates to you specifically (and less as it may`ve been handed to/imposed upon you). This new start will probably first come with an awareness of some failures or not measuring up.

This is a measuring period in which you can look at your efforts and see what was worth your time and is truly within your capacity and what is best left behind. It is Saturn come full cycle around to its starting place. That of itself need not be difficult. If you find it quite difficult, look at expectations you`ve had of yourself and the correlating judgments or self-critical thoughts you may be making due to perceived failures or shortcomings.

Saturn is paternal and tends to trigger issues of *earned approval*. It is important we always approve of and encourage ourselves *regardless whether anyone else does.*

I have read that post already. The main reason for me making this thread is I don't relate to descriptions of Saturn in 3rd house and I was hoping this forum could offer some alternative interpretations and views that may not be commonly found in cookbook descriptions or suggest how it may function in my chart based on its house placement and the sign it's in. I'm not sure how Saturn manifests in my life, but I am primarily interested in figuring out why I don't relate to my natal Saturn placement.

It is not retrograde in my natal chart, but it is currently retrograde by progression.

3rd house is a house of communication and siblings, and not a very harsh house to experience Saturn return.

Barring some very difficult natal placements of your Saturn, consider yourself lucky this is the house where you will be experiencing Saturn return.

Honestly there isn't much you can do. You can't control your Saturn Return.

IF anything if you got a fear or something you are afraid of learn to deal with it and tolerate it. Learn about yourself more and gain more awareness of yourself.

Be open minded and be aware.., willing to take responsibility and reflect on what you do. Otherwise there's not much to prepare. ... You might prep yourself up for the wrong thing and Saturn will pull the rug from under.

I don't mean to scare you. Attempting to control life is kinda an arrogant thing to do. We all are subjects to things. And I don't mean to call you arrogant btw. We all just want certainty. I've done what you're doing here and then I realize all this need to control an outcome removes me from the life lessons I'm supposed to learn.

I'm not trying to control life. I'm trying to understand more about my Saturn placement so I can better learn its lessons.

Saturn will restrict your 3rd house which would include communication in general and with siblings, short distance travels, writing, media. You will not be involving in idle gossip because Saturn is looking at this house. Maybe relations with siblings will be strained but if you already worked on it then Saturn will bestow good wishes. Same with other aspects too. Maybe you can try writing down your thoughts in a journal or do something creative. Take up any hobby you have always wanted to take. It will for sure pay in the long term.

Saturn is not bad at all. It just wants you to take a look at the mess of a particular house to clean it. So if you did your job it will turn out to be easier.

Also life after first Saturn return is said to be easier.
