Anyone have any experiences with starting something new during mercury rx?I am currently job hunting because my contract ended and sadly it had to fall during mercury rx. I have had many experiences of starting new things or signing contracts for new jobs during mercury rx and sadly they never really end well or in the long run something unexpected happens, delays occur etc.
My experiences:
-Got first job during mercury rx as a cashier. Made alot of mistakes in the beginning and almost got fired but boss changed her mind at the last minute. Ended up staying 3 years there but overall, it was a very unhappy 3 years for me.
-Got my first volunteering gig during mercury rx. Originally had to stay 6 months but my job kept interrupting with my volunteer time and eventually I broke the 6 months contract and left. Staff was not happy about it.
-Next job got hired in the hotel industry during merc. rx. At first there were delays and major confusion, the manager's native language was different which created huge communication barriers and she was disorganized. Very unexpected schedule: some weeks there were 0 hours and other weeks I would work 50 hours a week. Eventually walked out in the middle of my shift because of disorganization from management, very understaffed making me work alone during busy nights. It ended really badly.
-Signed up for college orientation during rx mode, and it later got cancelled by the counselor.
When I look back, I can see that things I started during merc rx. were never really 'successful'. I'm starting to think that maybe I should slow down with my current job hunt (I used to have the mentality of 'retrogrades won't stop me').
I noticed that merc. rx affects more my professional and school life. My personal life is not very affected by it.
What are your experiences?
