I would say Scorpio and Taurus placements followed by earth signs in general.

I say this because earth signs/placements have a thing for structure and organization. While Scorpio has a nasty bite and will defend there view to the latter.

Gemini Sun,
Capricorn Rising
Aries Moon
Gemini Mercury
Venus Taurus
Mars Cancer

I have Mercury in the 8th house and I read that people with this aspect make great detectives.

Hey CapriciousCapricorn,

Mind if I "pick your brains" for a second,
would that not make sense for most Scorpio suns.

As Pluto is the ruling planet for Scorpio and most would have the Pluto and mercury aspect?

Just trying to "connect the dots".

Thanks.

If you mean practicing law, like in courts, in pursuit of like civil justice, i would say positions in 9th house and some air, maybe Libra.
If you mean practicing law for the sake of personal power look for Pluto/8th house.

You will of course find all possible positions in a court room.

What do you mean by personal power? Would me having Sun/Pluto, Moon/Pluto and several planets in my 8th house cause this?

If you are a Scorpio, your Mercury can fall in the sign of Libra. Now Scorpio Sun (criminal) and Libra Mercury (justice) is perfect for that job, no? just like Sun Mercury conjunction in Scorpio is. Theoretically. But of course not all Scorpios have Mercury in Libra, and not all Scorpios have their Sun conjunct Mercury.

Now I wrote this and re-read what you wrote. I think you are asking me something else, not what I thought. You are saying most Scorpios would have Pluto Mercury aspect. Probably not. Depends on the degree Mercury is in. Don't think conjunction is that common. So, same as above. Not all Scorpios have Mercury Pluto conjunction.

My guesses would be Libra/Capricorn on MC, AC or in 12th house. Maybe even Scorpio or Sagittarius to a lesser degree, as I see Libra and Cap as most balanced or interested in strict systems.

Pluto in Scorpio generation (late 80's/early 90's). I have this in my 5th and true crime and detective shows have always interested me.

My childhood best friend's dad has been a cop for over 25 years and is an Aquarius rising with a Scorpio Midheaven/10th house cusp, the Midheaven/10th house MODERN ruler of Scorpio is Pluto who is situated in Virgo in his 8th house(natural inclination towards mysterious and the seedy underbelly of things like solving crimes).

I would also say Mars in Scorpio (Mars is the TRADITIONAL ruler of Scorpio) and/or Scorpio dominant. Some Taurus for stability, tenacity and true grit and/or some Libra planets for balance and justice.
