I am sure most of us have met people who seem to be less involved with their own emotions than others.
It is as if they have "turned off" their emotions. They can even be this way with their spouse, children, family and friends too, and not just strangers.

Not necessarily proud, but they seem to not be shaken off by "bad" things that happen to themselves or their close ones.

And yes, they rarely cry.

Women like this are famously known as the "Ice Queen", but there are many men like this too, although the term "Ice King" may not be known as widely.

These people have the potential to evoke strong feelings of jealousy or anger in others as well, due to their ability to keep a poker face, and not be shaken off even when insulted.

* What aspects in a person's chart do you believe has the potential to turn them into an icy person?

* Do you know someone who is like this? what sign/house do they have prominent in their chart? and what aspects does their personal planets, and their Saturn make?

it is interesting. a best friend is an Aquarius stellium (sun, moon, mercury, north node), with uranus in the 7th, but she's pretty sensitive and has always treated even strangers very warmly for the 7 years I know her. But she's cancer AC, so that may be why!

To be brutally honest, I do hate these people! I hate them because I envy their strong willed control of their emotions.

I'm no ice queen but I say Cap suns have a freeze switch. Inconvenient emotion? Just shut it down and proceed as normal.

Hard Saturn aspects, I'd say. At least as far as "appearing" to be an Ice Queen goes.
Was actually going to make a thread on a somewhat related note. Might still..

I appear to be an Ice Queen to others. I deal with my emotions in private and away from prying eyes.

My Aquarius ASC probably plays a part.

And cry sometime later.... on a Sunday, or preferably non-business hours

Everyone has feelings and I believe those whose expressions have hardened release theirs somewhere you don't know. It's sexist to view women as only supposedly smiley and warm and nurturing and men as stern and strong and cold. That's damaging for all genders.

I'm the definition of an 'Ice Queen' lol seriously though, I hide all emotions, have complete control of my emotions at all times, rarely cry, never seem affected by anything, etc. Pick apart my chart

A lot of people who seem "icy" are people who are actually very sensitive and purposely act aloof and distant as a defense mechanism. I've seen this in Scorpio women and all water Sun men (especially Pisces).

Another type of ice queens/kings are people who are insecure or shy or both. Virgo, Capricorn and Saturn aspects show up often.

And of course the real people disconnected from their emotions who aren't doing it as a means of protection are the air signs (all of them imo, not just Aquarius) especially the air Moons. Uranus dominants too and maybe Mercury.

You can mix and match these and you'll get an ice queen one way or another. They may just be doing it for different reasons.

As a Cappy Sun, I'd say this is accurate. I don't like to feel exposed emotionally. I have maybe cried 3 times in front of people. Even as child I'd hold it back until I was alone.

I let things bottle up, and try to sort out my feelings on my own. I'd prefer to laugh away my problems My mother is the same way, we both have Sag Moons.

Don't have many moon aspects myself, just a conjunction with Mercury and Mars.

well, a true ice queen would still be one even when alone! like I said, they really believe it themselves too that they have very little or no emotions! and they're okay with that!

of course every healthy human has emotions, otherwise they would turn into monsters. but there are people who have full control over their emotions, and they are not like this because they are afraid of appearing weak to other, but on the contrary, this kind of personal power and control actually stems from their ability to accept things as they are, that is why their reactions to situations is more calm and rational, as if they expect anything from anyone at any time!

And I agree with you on the whole stereotype issue. although eventually everybody will end up looking for someone like themselves. If someone is very emotional, it would be constant torture for them living with an ice king or queen, and vice versa. Icy people seem to like their own type and prefer not to be romantically involved with or be best friends with very loud or emotional people.

P.S
I also find it interesting that some pets seem to be like this too. One cat is friendly and social, and the other seems to not care about you at all! lol...I've seen it in dogs too, but way less than cats

I see you have sun square pluto and moon/jupiter square venus. I think these fit the criteria for the icy effect.
