Not the most fun, carefree thread. But, I feel like it hits close to home for people, as Saturn is pretty much our worst fear(s) in life. Feel free to discuss, debate, and/or add your own. Also, it can apply to the Saturn sign, as well (i.e. Saturn in the 10th/Saturn in Capricorn). But, I think Saturn's house placement is more powerful and influential. Saturn in the 12th is definitely true for me.

----

Saturn in the 1st House: People hating you or getting "the wrong idea" about you, sucking at life in general, failing at everything you attempt

Saturn in the 2nd House: poverty/bankruptcy/losing what you own, not being good enough, never having enough to feel secure

Saturn in the 3rd House: coming off as stupid, having the wrong answer or not knowing what to say, running out of ideas

Saturn in the 4th House: reliving the past/history repeating itself, creating the same household you grew up in, not being there enough for those who need you and/or them not being there for you

Saturn in the 5th House: being a flop/failing to get others' approval, losing touch with your creativity, having no talent or charisma

Saturn in the 6th House: being stuck in the same boring cycle all your life, not doing your tasks/jobs/chores effectively, getting so sick you can't function

Saturn in the 7th House: marrying/dating the wrong person (a monster, a liar, a mess, whatever unattractive trait), losing your best friend, never finding "the one"

Saturn in the 8th House: letting your dark side take over and becoming a "psycho", being betrayed or abused or manipulated or controlled, achieving real intimacy (emotional and sexual)

Saturn in the 9th House: living a life full of limitations, having no inspiration or enthusiasm for the path you're on, losing your way and your faith

Saturn in the 10th House: never becoming somebody important or worth recognition, being robbed of the status or success you deserve, dealing with nothing but struggle on the way to the top

Saturn in the 11th House: being bullied or ostracized or treated like a social pariah, fitting in too much/conformity/no longer being an individual, the thought of a future without change or progress

Saturn in the 12th House: being either a "nobody" or a tragic victim, something unknown and mysterious that is out there to get you, completely drowning in your problems and/or others' problems

I have Saturn in the 6th and yup! True for me! Sometimes doing bad at work makes me sick or I worry so much that I can't function for the rest of the day. I hate hate hate routine! That's when I start slacking off so I need a job that constantly changes.

This is accurate. I would say that I'm not afraid of having no talent or charismatic, but rather afraid of people not liking me and me not being able to do what's needed.

Great job by the way!

3H Saturn here.

When I was younger, I was sensitive about having dropped out of school and labored to appear educated. I took it too far with people OL seeing me as a nerd to even being a college professor!

Someone pointed it out to me, that I didn't care what people thought of me save in this one manner, and I realized that was true. There were some minor practical reasons for it (don't feel like going into it) but overall this was a big deal to me. I worked on it and overcame it, however, and now I'm a lot more casual about it.

That said, I wasn't that concerned with my school work when I was in school. I even loved ISS (in school suspension) because I'd get the week's assignments and typically finish them all before the first day was out (and typically with very good grades, usually an A), and then I'd work on my writing or just read. I remember how magical the typewriter was to me and I used it a lot, which the coach who oversaw the class allowed me to do (at least until the last time when I was put into the suspension class in part because of my writings, including a story in a zine that included the killing of the high school principal and two teachers, that part added by another classmate just before Columbine and then the story becoming a big deal right after Columbine). Generally speaking, the teachers (including in ISS) wanted their day to go by smoothly without any headaches, so the last thing any teacher wanted me to do was get BORED (and so I was even allowed to use a typewriter for hours).

Just remembered, I did take a lot of pride in that I made a 110 on a semester exam. I'd been flunking earlier and needed a good test score, and I'm surprised I got ever problem right...and the only one who got the bonus answer right. But then I took similar pride in when I overcame other problems. (That same year I realized I hated school because I loved learning, and I felt school was wasting too much of my time that I could spend learning instead.)

These days, however, the only fear that seems to haunt me are those I care about dying or being harmed (even more than such things happening to myself).

Pixie Jane,

That is totally a Saturn in the 3rd House tale, right down to dropping out of school and then overcompensating for it. I do feel like this placement is much harder during one's upbringing because the 3rd House does represent those grade school years (along with Mercury). But when the intellectual inferiority complex is addressed as an adult, there is much less pressure there because the person accepts they are no longer in school and pressured to give the right answer. Still the demand on oneself to be educated is still there.

Have you been through your Saturn Return yet?

Saturn in the 9th House: living a life full of limitations, having no inspiration or enthusiasm for the path you're on, losing your way and your faith

So true.
I find myself saying to myself all the time that when I am on my deathbed, I want to look back and feel happy. I want to see I have done something, and I am proud of what I have done.

Now that I am taking steps toward this, I have random moments of panic that I don't know what I am doing, that I am lost. I rely on my spirituality a lot to keep me going forward. As for limits, I think mine are mostly self imposed, and I am afraid to break through them.

Good read! Thank you!

and my ex is Saturn 8th house.

eerily accurate. those were the core of our issues. I am an 8th house Sun Jupiter, so I bet he needed what I offered but it probably scared him like crazy!

the guy I like now, and another best friend of mine, both have 10th house Saturns. You are right on for those too. I have heard that comment from them both. Again, I have a strong 10th house and a Cap moon. I bet that is part of the attraction in our relationships. Interesting for sure.

oh my god! If I am Saturn 9th house, I am looking for strong 9th house or Sag qualities. No wonder I have so many Sag people in my life. I could never explain this, except that it is also my first house. But you just made these pieces fall in to place! Thank you thank you thank you!

Interesting about Saturn in 10th. If I'm not important to the people I love, not contributing enough to my work, I feel really depressed and helpless.

Yes. Interesting enough, a fling turned into a real relationship became "solid" after I read a book of philosophy by an obscure Greek philosopher (that my partner had done her thesis on) and was able to talk with her in depth about his and his words. I compared and contrasted him to other philosophers, and said that reading him made me inclined to reject one theory that Machiavelli wrote The Prince as either a satire or even intentionally bad advice because it appeared to me that Machiavelli had read this Greek philosopher (this was years ago, I forget the details). She was starved for conversations like that, and it helped me get through the Saturn Return very well (so many details I'd rather not go into). Who knows, maybe that was a "test" Saturn threw my way, a type of "read this book and write a report." Though given the other things going on, I barely noticed and even found it a nice distraction.

In a Vedic astrology article, I read that Saturn in the 1st house people don't usually feel happy until age 36, when a huge chunk of their karmic load is released.

They usually are more cheerful, light-hearted, and happy, starting at that age.

Pixie Jane,

Wow that is interesting. Yes I would definitely say you were being tested in that way. Sounds like you passed! 3rd House Saturn people are meant to be intellectuals and it's great that you found someone who helped you in that direction (fateful relationships like that can happen during a Saturn Return).

Mollywu,
Life will get better for you. The thing is that you just beat yourself up so much because of your Saturn in the 1st. I am sure you are much more competent than you think. Once those with this placement stop being so hard on themselves, they are basically reborn.

Totes me. In fact, during most of my primary school years, I was considered so stupid that my teachers kept suggesting that I repeat the grade. On the other hand I was actually too young for my year level (parents put me into school a year early because they had me late and lied about my age to get me in). I always felt worthless because I was made to feel like I was dumb and incapable. It wasn't until later that I started coming into my own. I still have this fear of being considered stupid or giving the wrong answer if asked a question.

Both the Saturn in the 1st and 9th H resonate with me. I have Saturn in the 1st H in Sag.

I still to this day have this debilitating fear that everyone thinks I suck and I'm stuck in life and will never travel again, and be stuck in my routine forever.

Saturn in the 1st conj asc/NN.

It started with the environment which I grew up in. Very restricted. There was a mould which I was expected to fit in. Now I hate feeling restricted and response harshly to any "attempt" to rein me in, or expectation for me to do certain things.

About fear of being hated by others. It sure doesn't feel nice, and I might analyze the situation to find out the reason, especially if it's detrimental to me. But it doesn't escalate to "fear". Being misunderstood and/or disliked is a part of life, I think.

About failing, meh. I win some I lose some. As long as I can still take care of myself, it's fine. So it's not a fear for me, either.

I fear being unable to take care of myself, it will rob me of my freedom and independence that I have now. And leave me at the mercy of others, and a bunch of other unpleasant stuff that make my skin crawl. Losing myself/my identity...Haiz

12H Saturn

Yes to "something mysterious."

I don't know what my worst fear is.

I remember watching a video of a girl who had survived a devastating skydiving accident, where her parachute didn't open. She described the sensation of realizing it wasn't going to open, and she that she was going to crash and die. Her words were something like, "I never had any idea of what fear actually was, until that moment. Thousands of times stronger than any fear I had before."

That's the kind of fear that I fear. Whatever is so big I can't even imagine it. I just have an ongoing reverence towards it, and a standing request with the Universe: please don't do that to me or my loved ones.

7h Cancer Saturn here. While I find those bad 7th house experiences very painful, I'm more scared of the fears listed for Saturn in the 10th house and Saturn in the 1st house.....wonder if that's because i'm a Capricorn rising?

I'm not scared of people hating me or getting the "wrong idea" about me, but horribly scared of sucking at life or failing overall....and so scared of all the Saturn in h10 things. Looking at my life overall, as a big-picture thing, I don't mind temporary failure as long as I know that I'll have great success eventually--even posthumous success would be okay. I can face imagining that I'll never have the relationship(s) I want, so long as I know that I'll complete the body of work I'm meant to complete during my life (I'm a writer) and it will be GOOD and it will be recognized.

"Saturn in the 9th House: living a life full of limitations, having no inspiration or enthusiasm for the path you're on, losing your way and your faith"

I'd say that freedom is a huge factor in my happiness, so this is pretty true for me also. There isn't much I dislike worse than being caged in or limited in any way. Especially intellectually, I don't confine myself and have a hard time not saying anything when others try to impose their limitations on me.

My Saturn is also conj Neptune and Uranus which is placed in the 8th cusp.

I don't know if I fear having no inspiration, I've never thought of it like that and it's not something I've ever lacked. I have, ever since a very young age felt very driven like I was ment to do a lot in this life, so inside there's always been a pull to what I love and it's made sense to me. The "fate line" on my palms extend all the way to my lunar mount to my Saturn finger ha, they're super long!! And my birthday numerology wise equates to 888 which I've heard is karmic.. As well as my chart in general. I don't know how true it all is, but I feel like this life is karmic.. I'm making up for past actions to clean my slate for spiritual growth, is what I feel.

But losing my way/faith is scary for me, so that I can relate to that. This is prolly the thing I struggle with, meaninglessness, not fulfilling this inner pull to make what's in my head happen.. I mull over ideas so much I'll get lost in thought/reality, run myself in circles and doubt myself.

Maybe it's also from my prominent Venus/Pluto conj but my greatest fear.. Ever since I was a child, I had seperating anxiety from all the instabilty from my parents and have always been terrified of losing my dad in particular but the people I love would die and I won't ever be able to see them again. I dread the day I will have to deal with it and go literally go thru denial coping mechanisms in my head to not think about it. I'll lose it. Maybe this is valid for everyone.. But I feel like this is one thing I try to be philosophical about but just constantly tears me up inside.. im not scared of my own death tho, maybe Uranus in 8th?

This is so confusing. I have Saturn in the 1st house but I fear what Saturn in the 2nd house description the most.

I always save money and create another bank account for "just in case". I will always feel anxious if I don't have enough although some people said to me that I have enough. I hate losing something that I own and I need to feel secure.

My sun in 2nd house. Hmmm.

Another note, as a 7h Cancer Saturn, the fears for h4 and h7 have recently come to pass for me already!!!

Maybe that's why the Saturn in h10 description sounds scariest to me--hasn't happened yet or come to pass yet.

I relate to Saturn in 3rd house and Saturn in 11th house. Saturn in 3rd house is my natal placement and I have Saturn in Aquarius. Most of these descriptions are scary to imagine though.
