Sneaky dream invaders. They will never show you their hand.

I had one lie to me about his birth time. I was wary of him (he had a dishonest aura) so didn't ask. He volunteered this information, which was a lie.

I find they hang out in Neptunian/Piscean environments.

Shape shifters, they can appear with different faces, even have inconsistent walks and movements. Usually very musical and artistically talented. Over sensitivity causes them to become intentionally evasive, so as to avoid picking up energy around them. Some can really suffer as energy sponges - Neptune square ASC can have a similar effect. A close friend of mine has the square and goes by a number of names, none of which are his registered one.... ;-)

I am not a shape shifter.
Not a liar either or dishonest.

But I am quite sensitive to other people`s energies or energies in general, and occasionally have to withdraw, to get centred in myself again.

Neptune conjunct ASC and Mars.

I have Neptune in the 1st but not conj the ASC. It makes it hard to find an identity, I think.

Neptune makes amorphous what it touches

The ASC would be more so.

I have a pretty clear identity (but I also have Sun in 1st house), however for some times in my formative years it was very difficult for me to differentiate between if what I was feeling was really MY feelings or if I was feeling someone else`s feelings really.

Luckily nowadays I can differentiate between that, but for a time it was a tad confusing and exhausting.

I imagine someone doe eyed and helpless....or they seem that way. Gentle and soft spoken, likes to blend in/be invisible not attracting attention. Shy and private. That's just the veneer, who knows what they're really like. We may never know!

Yes I think Sun and Mars in the first would give you quite a strong presence Ceridwen. I would expect the Neptune adds appeal and intrigue to how others perceive you.

Neptune with Mars is extremely charismatic and can be incredibly persuasive and almost hypnotic.

Neptune would need to be 'out on his own' for the shape shifting element. I have friends in mind when I think of this and i know them to be so sensitive they adapt, whereas with most people you can recognise their walk and stance from a long distance, not so with one who merges into their surroundings. This isn't to bring dishonesty into the mix, I've never considered Neptune to be dishonest personally. Fluid, changeable, adaptable and evasive but only when confronted by a request for definitives and structures..

Dreamy appearance. People see themselves in you. Identity is fluid. Absorb the energy of your environment. Psychic sponge.

Pisces Sun and Neptune 1st house here!

I don't think I am a shapeshifter either.
Always had strong presence and individuality because of my Asc (Sag) conjunct Uranus (1st), trine Aries Mars/Venus. I was always very sure of what I want and need.

I think people generally didn't understand how I set my boundaries which to them seemed practically non-existent, although I felt like I had my own?? Hahaha I guess this part is sort of shape-shifting from third person pov but I was never not myself. I wasn't those people with different sides. I am a multi-dimensional individual with loads of contradictions.

I am very, very piscean

Sun in Pisces, Saturn in Pisces
Neptune leads my 3rd house stellium. (I talk and think like a Pisces)

I have a 12th NN
Venus rules my twelfth so I love to escape. Neptune is Conjunct my Venus by a 1°. I am not a dishonest person but a weary person.

Amorphous is the perfect way to describe us. The more Neptunian you are the more shapeless and charitable you perceive things. My imagination and dreams often get me into trouble and my dream is to be a working musician. If I'm nowhere by 23 (Jupiter Return) I'll take it as a sign that it wasn't meant for me, and probably go back to school I guess. Being an actor also interests me and I've had a successful YouTube career in high school. Been in some music videos. Now I'm rocking out for the time being.

Worse thing about Neptune is having unobtainable goals or dreams which will drive you crazy with an "amorphous" personality. You see things from all angles, all the time.

Very difficult to pinpoint their intentions. My bf has Neptune conj the ASC and when you look at pictures of him throughout his life, he looks like a million different people. I don't even know how many times I've said "that's you???" when looking through his old pictures.

When I first met him, I started shaking. There was something extremely unsettling about his energy. There are times when he comes off as "spooky" (no other word to put it), and other times when it's like soaking in a warm bath filled with the most aromatic perfumes.

These people tend to have extremely beautiful, expressive eyes.

He once told me his dreams are so vivid that while in the dream, he'll start accepting that this must be reality (the material world) and is freaked out whenever he wakes up. There are times he's had conversation in dreams and assumed that he *actually* did have these conversations with these people and bring it up to them when he's awake. They look at him like he's insane and say "we never talked about that.."

He is NOT GOOD at understanding the psychological motivations of people. I don't know why that surprises me so much, given the vast depth of his intuitive insight for other things (like movies, literature, general media interpretation etc). When you meet him professionally, he comes off as the all-knowing master of his Universe - yet when you truly get to know him, it's this total facade. He once described himself as "naive" to me and I was startled. On my own that would NEVER have been a word I would use to describe him, yet when it come from his own mouth it dawned on me that yeah... he is very naive. His past is littered with all kinds of silly sh*t that he used to put up with from other people. I would say that boundaries are easy to dissolve with these types.

I have neptune in the 1st house, saturn in pisces and pisces in the 3rd house.

I am extremely spacey, moody, imaginative, and I daydream CONSTANTLY. It's actually been detrimental and I feel like I can't function in reality. Someone will be talking to me and all of a sudden I'm drifting off into some dream or idea. Sure everyone daydreams but my escapism is excessive. I'm never "here in the moment". I tend to become exhausted after talking to people all day. I need a lot of alone time. I don't look the same in pictures, and I'm intuitive to peoples emotions.

I am magnet. People are drawn to me, but I am too mysterious and changeable to be defined. I feel like a chameleon. I have a creative streak. I have this dream of becoming famous. Music is important to me and I LOVE to write.

Receptive to energy of others. I know a few, one has just burst out in tears a few days ago due to the load of energy she received during a session with a client. I've known her for a while, she's a very very low-key, quiet person.

I also have Nep. in the 1st, along w/ Sat. & Uranus...

As far as my childhood goes, it was unusual. I grew up with a single mom who was younger and she was in rock bands and prided herself as a independent feminist and I went to a different elementary school every year until 4th grade.

Also I have the Pisces Moon in the 3rd H, so this could relate as well, and Neptune is square my Mars.

I can usually spot another Neptune Riser pretty quickly, and I can't really explain it other than..it takes one to know one. I was watching an interview with Norman Reedus the other day and caught onto it pretty quickly. It's just a very nebulous energy, and not always all that 'here'. But always receptive, always a little tentative and ready to withdraw...
There can be a tendency to want to blend in and not be seen, too.

My father is also a Neptune Riser, and I've personally known 3 other people as well.
Some things I can tell you:
1: we all tend to experience people who will argue with us about our OWN personality traits.
2: all can walk into a room and tell you the mood of the people in there.
3: all need more sleep than average, get drained easily, and enjoy solitude more than most.

Childhood I don't think is described by the Ascendant itself. It's how we deal with our immediate environment and the incarnating point of the soul. It's the physical vehicle (first thing we identify with) and the attraction axis (themes we attract into our lives). My childhood was very Saturnian/Arian, as characteristic of my Saturn in Aries 4th house.

However I can say my life has revolved around Neptune themes, and so has other Neptune Risers I've known.
I've always been sensitive to an unhealthy degree. Too receptive to other people's thoughts and emotions. I can't do crowds. I can't do most foods with preservatives/colours/etc because I'm allergic to EVERYTHING (even chocolate).
When I was younger I had extreme tactile defensiveness, crippling shyness, night terrors, psychic phenomena, etc, etc.

Shape shifter? Yes
Sometimes I'm aware of this, other times not so much. It's not as fun as it sounds. I'm often not sure if this is MY stuff I'm feeling or that guy's I spoke to briefly at the supermarket...
Spacey? Yes again
I get asked a lot 'where I am' or 'where I've gone' because I'm definitely not here, lol.

I'm not naive (too much pluto and Virgo...discernment and suspicion are my middle names ) but I've been told too many times I look like I am. Or that I'm gentle, soft or 'lost looking.' My Aries Rising friend says I look like a doll
Also have Neptune trine Moon, opposite Sun, square Mars, but these are what I consider looser orbs...

I have neptune conjunct the ascendant from the 12th. Not dishonest but I can be very chameleon like. It is easy for me to fit in with many different types of people. Not because I am fake but because I am open to accepting and embracing others.

I don't have Neptune in 1st. But Neptune conjunct Sun and trine Asc(and that is enough thank you)

I think Linda put it perfectly when she said that to the Neptune people(in that case Pisces), reality is not real. But the dream world is.

With all the Neptune people I have met, they believe more in the dream and the visceral feelings that these dreams evoked than they are likely to take things in "real life" seriously.

Neptune in 1st as a child probably had many imaginary friends and "lands"- if they were not sick all the time.

Neptune in 1st can often give the native looks of someone who is a very old ancestor of the family, an appearance of someone whom seems more from a foreign or distant land or rare physical additions(two differing colour eyes or an unusual hair colour/texture)

Being mistaken for a "foreigner" or "refugee" is common with this house.Infact being mistaken for being younger than they are or a false arrest/killing etc. may even happen because of mistaken identity.

The "gypsy" or "drifter" lifestyle is likely. Living on the fringe of society or in some beautiful isolated area- near a beach/swamp/river or wetland.

It is likely that they were ignored, had siblings taking the majority of attention or were often "underachievers" in childhood.

Maybe they had to fit into the schedule of their parents in a discreet way.Felt "invisible" or were the result of an affair, a concealed pregnancy or the paternity of the father being in question OR later revealed in adulthood-raising more questions of "who am I?".

When you watch the movie "White Oleander", the girl there is a Neptune type.

No clear sense of identity either than being an extension of her Mom. At the end,she learns to break free from her Mother and become herself.

If you meet one, they often appear "blameless" and so sweet. Which many are. But others are dealing with all sorts of addictions, identity issues and social phobias.

There is an incoherence in the way that they appear. They could seem like they are not very good at speaking clearly, seem overly shy or are always in some sort of "disguise".

Men love to grow a beard and have an unkempt appearance. Often "hiding" behind it.

Women tend to love camouflage:On shoes, pants or head wrap around head gear-again "hiding"

Neptune shuns the light but loves the nightlife. So most don't mind going out at night as they feel that this is the only time that people are "free" to be themselves.

Neptune in 1st(ironically enough) are incredibly commanding on screen or in theater.

Not because they are confident. But because it gives them an opportunity to assume an identity and be completely "possessed" by it.

These people should steer clear of games that involve the dark arts. As they have the probability of being easily "possessed"- because of the sensitivity to vibrational energy.

I also think that Neptune in 1st is very vulnerable to what one may term "psychic" attacks. As they can easily develop the capacity to channel spirits and entities.

Religious belief system or spiritually tend to lead their way of life . Or they choose to focus their life in that direction- often having had an experience with "God" or "extra terrestrials" etc.

Romance is often an ideal in many and so is love. But seldom do their real lives reflect the romance and love they yearn for. In fact, most may be painfully lonely(even when with someone)

So much to say...but I'll stop here.

Just a note:

"In mythology, folklore and speculative fiction, shapeshifting (or metamorphosis) [citation needed] is the ability of a being or creature to completely transform its physical form or shape. This is usually achieved through an inherent ability of a mythological creature, divine intervention, or the use of magic."

When I used the word shapeshifting I did mean physically.... these people look different, as if their auras are more vividly indicative of their thoughts.

Am loving these descriptions….with just Mercury in Pisces I can relate to so many. Particularly the having conversations in dreams and thinking they happened in real life. I love Neptune.

Radium I want to hear your music!! Do you have any songs on YouTube??

Elaborate more on this part.

What are some things Neptune types can do to guard against psychic attacks? I also don't have Neptune in the 1st, but have an opposition to Sun, square to Asc, conjunction to Moon. I have been the subject of "psychic attacks" As in people can contact me in the astral realms and I seem powerless to do anything. I have the feeling like the door to my astral/psychic house is open and anyone can just wander in. Eg. a Sagittarius w/ moon in Scorpio would show up in my dreams all that time and annoy the hell out of me. A Capricorn w/ moon in Scorpio I was avoiding set up a scenario where I was riding a bicycle, they hid behind a tree, put out their arm as a passed and hit me ff the bike.

Ha, this sounds like me! I have Neptune first house, and as a child especially I lived in a fantasy world and pretended I was someone else. My childhood was kind of unhappy so I think this is why. I still kind of imagine I am living a different life now. I have two different coloured eyes too, one also has a patch of brown in. I would say my intuition is very strong, and sometimes I know things before they happen, or I have a feeling about something or someone. Additionally I am very creative - I play 3 instruments and write and record all my own stuff, as well as writing lyrics.

I think for me I do definitely shape-shift, and I can be contradictory. I can very quickly pick up what I need to be to someone, and I can easily become that. However, to some degree this shape-shifting may be down to the fact I also have Uranus, Sun and Mercury in first house too. So in a way it is not really shape-shifting - I just really am lots of different things in one person. I am still not sure who I am completely and my biggest challenge over the years has been to find an identity - I have tried many and I still feel lost.
