What Do You Do When You APPEAR Different Than You Are?

I am kind of fascinated with this situation. It can come about in a variety of ways.

One may have an Ascendant of an ELEMENT of which one has a void.

For example, a water void may have a water Ascendant, such as Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer.

An earth void may have an earth MC, as does Donald Trump.

A fire void may have a Fire Ascendant.

In a similar manner, a person may have a very strong planet conjunct the Ascendant but the rest of the chart may be mutable.

An example of this would be a Pluto conjunct the Ascendant with a mutable Mars such as Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius. The person may have a mutable Sun, as another example.

My point is that the person would appear very, very strong and powerful, but that would not be how he feels inside.

For example, a person may have Neptune conjunct the Ascendant and so appear dreamy and gentle. However, the person may have a powerful Sun such as Leo and a powerful Mars, such as Scorpio. Hence, the person would appear much gentler than he was.

I hope you can see what I mean with the examples above.

The possibilities are endless.

What is a person to do when this happens?

I suppose this situation cannot be remedied, per se.

The person, simply, needs to know that he appears a way that he is really not.

Other people will, probably, get confused, but as people get to know the real person, the confusion will abate, I think.

Hence, this person would be most comfortable with people he knew, rather than in superficial encounters with people.

I think that when a person has a professional astrology reading and discoveries this dichotomy, he may relax a bit.

Nothing in the chart is one’s fault– not a single thing.

One’s chart came into existence when one took one’s first breath, as a tiny baby.

Only God can answer the whys.

Some charts are much harder than others.

Some charts are not hard but have a terrible synastry with a parent, as I had.

However, everyone seems to have struggles. These struggles seem as if they cause a lot of pain.

That helps one to feel not so alone.

One of my major messages as an astrologer is that your struggles are not your fault.

I think this gives peace to others.

It does to me.

I have this issue. A Fire void with an Aries Ascendant that squares my Sun, Venus, and IC. From first appearances, people always assume I'm this confidant, outgoing ball of energy when really I'm a very shy and quiet Cancer. My chart is mainly Water signs in Water houses too, making me extra shy and introverted. It's funny, I have a very typical Aries rising, broad shouldered and athletic look, but I never felt my appearance was a good represention of how I really am inside. I remember in school during group projects people would usually look up to me as a sort of leader for the group and I always hated that. I never felt comfortable dictating orders to people, it's just not in my nature.

Additionally, I can be loud and boisterous without me realizing it and at other times shy and awkward. This can confuse people. I have also noticed that I usually attract very outgoing and bubbly individuals while the more Watery and Earthy people are turned off by me. However, the more outgoing individuals sometimes become disappointed once they get to know my true self and move on, while the people who initially disliked me would later warm up to me. For these reasons and having Saturn in the 11th house, I've always had a difficult time making friends.

The great thing about Astrology is that I've come to understand myself and why certain aspects occur the way they do in my life. It's true that I only feel comfortable around people I know on a profound level, and that's honestly okay with me. It can be lonely sometimes, but I think everyone feels that way at some point. Hopefully this helped in some way.

I don't know. I'll have to come back when I'm more awake, because I've had this problem myself, at times. It's annoying, unless I'm in a mood to let someone have their assumptions (that's usually easier - fighting the assumption tends to leave them thinking that they're right).

ouch XD Virgo is not boring :P also think positive, you just have various layers to you, you can relate to many other signs and placements. I would trade your interesting placements with my stereotypical Sagittarius everything any day.

Hey I'm also a fire void, but I have a Sag ASC. I do appear to be loud and confident, and tend to draw in ppl with lots of fire to their chart. But, I dont always feel that I'm all confident and all as i appear to ppl i barely meet. I have mainly air and earth in my chart. So because of my Libra Sun and Aqua moon, i have good aspects to my asc so its not like a internal struggle.

The only thing I can say is that I would love to get rid of my Saturn Opposite Ascendant aspect. God, I hate this aspect with a passion. Screw Saturn and the crap it's trying to put on my Mars. If I didn't have Saturn there, I wouldn't be putting up these rock-solid barriers that are impossible to break down, and more people would be willing to see the real me because I wouldn't come off as cold and indifferent.

I have an Earth Void but an Earth DSC. However, my Saturn is in Aries, just a few degrees before entering Taurus. Saturn makes it hard for me to have a normal flow of energy; I either keep myself closed up or indulge too much into the situation to the point that I feel somewhat invasive, even if no one tells me directly. I just need to channel my energy through my Mars instead and be myself; why should I give a crap about what people think of me? If people don't like me for who I am, then I don't need them around.

Anyways, I would be willing to say that I am not as misunderstood as I thought I was. I was so stuck in my own little world that I must've fabricated all of these ideas about the people around me, when in reality a lot of them weren't even true because I never actually tried getting out into the world. I guess I'm just looking for some sort of extreme reaction from others so that it can confirm my assumptions, even though I probably won't get one.

Having a Water Ascendant though does make me attract a lot of watery people. For some reason I tend to find that a lot of really attractive people are Cancer Suns, and I have a good understanding of Scorpios as well. It's probably because they typically take relationships with people just as seriously as I do, so they know where I'm coming from. It's typically those who have weak water/earth that I am often repulsed by. I also have a lot of planets in water houses, so that helps too.

All I can say though is that a badly afflicted Aries Saturn is a real downer. It sucks...a lot...
