Transit Saturn conjunct South node.

Has anybody experienced this transit?? What was it like for you? What houses were involved?

Did good things happen like been rewarded for hard work? Did it coincide with an increase in responsibility but in a positive way?

I just realized an hour ago that Saturn will be sextiling transit Jupiter so hopefully it means increased responsibility but in a good way bc something you want is been granted.

This happened to me when Saturn was in Leo. It was also conjunct my Sun and in my 7th House.

I was about 17 going on 18. Graduated high school (which I was THRILLED to do and did feel like a long term reward), so I did feel a sense of beginning adulthood. I started working more hours at my summer job. Thought a lot about the future.

The other major thing that happened was me losing a really dear friend of mine in a car accident, a month or so after we graduated. It was something that really changed me and made me take my friendships and other relationships more seriously. Even though I was very loving and genuine growing up, I often formed friendships more so out of convenience and whim. But my friend who passed ended up changing me for the better (in her life and in her passing) and it changed my idea of what close friendship should be and that it should be about having a very important impact on each others' lives.

But I also think that this change in attitude also affected me down the line by making me put too much stock in my relationships with others, reinforcing my bad habits. So, maybe, its a catch 22 transit?

^^Interesting so it coincided with a milestone towards adulthood (graduating from high school) and increased responsibility as a result (increased responsibility at work, working more hours).

It also lead to you re-evaluating how you view close friendships which I suppose makes sense since Saturn was falling in your 7th house.

Interesting that your friend passed away during this time since the south node can be about endings to relationships you have outgrown, in this case the ending itself lead to personal growth.

My ex and I broke up when Pluto was conjuncting my south node and I felt I outgrew the relationship but was deeply in love none the less and it hurt like crazy to let it go, took me a long time but inside of me I knew it was for my own good even though It went against my feelings. Similar to you the ending is what lead over time to a lot of personal growth.

So Saturn on the south node can signify an ending? and increased maturity and responsibility in the context of milestones towards adulthood?

Thanks so much for your reply.

You're welcome! Both Saturn and the South Node are very karmic, in their own ways. The combination of the two by transit can definitely lead to a time where things that are very fated happen, as was the case for me with my friend (which I have never fully put together until now!) It can possibly lead to more responsibility. But keep in mind that my Sun was also involved, so it really affected my sense of self.

I think it may be more so about learning how to deal with negative consequences or avoid them in the future due to something quite powerful or life changing happening to you.

So Saturn is conjuncting my progressed southnode exact the day I will close on the house I am purchasing November 18. It will also be conjuncting my natal southnode by 3d the day I close on the house I am purchasing while it sextiles transit Jupiter. I think Jupiter is protecting that purchase and together with saturn rewarding my hard work.

I have southnode in the 12th house in Sag. Jupiter rules my 1st and 12th and conjuncts exact Uranus ruler of my 2H.

This is a milestone into adulthood bc is the first home I purchase and I am 33. My finances will be tighter and I will have to stick strictly to a budget or get a second job. Actually my partner is suppose to start this new job and if that goes well we should be comfortable enough and there will be no need for me to have a second job.

Talk of tighter finances definitely sounds like Saturn transiting the 2nd and with the South Node involved, this is may bring out a negative obsession with the material. At the same time, it can also strengthen your natural skill of handling money because of the limitation.

Something you may also want to consider is that the challenges that Saturn poses when it transits a house can make the affairs of the opposing house much easier. Since you are being pushed to work really hard in the house Saturn is going through, the opposite house can be a place of relief, a way to breathe and feel free of pressure. I think this is especially true if you have a placement in that opposing house, like with your North Node. And since Saturn will be opposite your NN as well, strengthening that intimate trust and support between you and your partner will make things easier as money gets tight.

Thanks for talking to me it has helped a lot clear my head about the meaning of this aspect a lot. That is how my brain operates, talking to someone gets my brain cells going or brain storming with someone helps me a lot.
