Hi everyone I would really want to discuss that with you because I read a lot about astrology and still I don't get my planets in 12th house. What is your experience? I think I don't feel them like I could. Alyssa Sharpe in her video said that you have to unprison these planets and express them selflessly. Venus- by unconditional love but the rest of them? I don't get it. I have Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and NN in 12th (all in intercepted Aries) and Venus in Pisces. Pisces on cusp. I want to take the best of these planets. I know that is a long process but I need to know how to do that first.
Like, e.g:
Sun - by freely expressing yourself?
Mercury - by telling what you think?
Jupiter - just go out and socialize? Or meditate?
And in unselfish way so.... do not hurt anyone, don't have ulterior motives, have hearty feelings? ugh I don't know

Mmm...
I wouldn't put pressure on yourself to express them outwardly or to expect that you'll be able to make them "normal".

My biggest challenge wasn't trying to make myself to be like others but to accept and appreciate myself for all of the ways that I am, and am unlike others. Not that everyone isn't unique anyway but you know what I mean.

Welcome, my Friend

12th House planets turn INWARD, though no fault of the person

For example, Mars should go FORWARD to reach goals.

The 12th House Mars turns inward and may become passive aggressive or even shut down.

That manner of inner inclination is the same for the 12th house planets, whichever they may be.

I have many articles on it

12th house planets have a lot of Piscean characteristics. the person can become a favorite prey for people with more assertive placements.

I would never advise a person with 12th house placements to try and act more assertively, directly or "forward". because it is simply not their true self and if anybody tries to be someone they really aren't, situations can turn out against them. it's quite a simple law of the universe.

I would advise them to keep being who they are, and not let the criticism of others become the framework upon which they shape and plan their life. more importantly, I would advise them to be much kinder to and more accepting of themselves.

I have Saturn and Uranus and Neptune in the 12th. I agree with what everyone has said in that 12th House planets will never be really in your face and blatantly obvious. They are not meant to be. But they still definitely need to be acknowledged and expressed.

The way I see it is that the 12th House person must find outlets for that planet so it can be experienced for the self in a way. Then the person will feel recharged enough to selflessly give that energy to others without being drained or feeling insignificant.

Like with Saturn, I find structure and discipline through artistic and spiritual things. That helps me find my purpose in a very internal way. Then I can help other people in the world find their purpose, without expecting that structure back from them. The best route for me is to help other people be a success in the world while doing unworldly things that make me feel successful.

So my idea of success is not of this world and, in fact, I know I couldn't get anywhere worrying about all of those material trappings anyway. Saturn is my chart ruler so my life has been quite difficult because of that. But I have achieved so much in terms of being enlightened and spiritually evolved in exchange for that sacrifice.

When in doubt, art and spirituality are the best ways to fulfill your 12th House planets as well as satisfying alone time. This allows you to tend to yourself enough (an important thing for us to remember) to then just give that energy to others. Because there just comes a time where you realize that the day to day world can't truly satisfy that planet, no matter what you do.

With Uranus, I strive to free other people and open their minds and get them to not care about others' judgments. But being an artist and spiritual is where I feel the freest and least judged. And with Neptune, its just about real compassion, giving it in this realm but receiving it in the other realm.

12th house planets are not meant for the public. They are for you.

Having Sun/Mercury and NN there suggests that much of your life, you will work "behind the scenes" or within the confines of closed/protected spaces.

It could be because in these spaces, your Sun has the power to have its light shin and be a beacon for others i.e hospitals, prisons, getaway destinations, remote "spiritual" valleys or retreats, illness centres etc.

When we go to the 12th house, it is usually because we are exhausted, drained, feeling vulnerable or looking for deeper meaning etc.

12th house represents dreams, the "god" within, self appraisal i.e "Am i fulfilled?" ,recovery from injury, hiatus or hibernation etc. It is the "drawing in" and is not meant for the public.

You can work with people in private i.e be their confidant or help them through a private meltdown or issue that uncovers/ exposes their weakness and makes them unable to face the world confidently

^^^I personally wouldn't say that they are not for the public. The last three houses deal with the masses. So I do think that the public can benefit enormously from a person's 12th House planets. I would just say that the person should not look to receive what the planet represents from the public. It is more about just giving that to people and touching their lives as a result.

Yes.... twelfth house planets could be described as transpersonal... they can't be satisfied through normal avenues because they relate to an infinite realm of feelings which can indeed be enjoyed and utilized to the greatest effect through dreams and art, and occurrences and places which are quite far removed from all that is banal and normal... even a brightly lit public avenue could become a twelfth house ruled location for a given moment, if the querent were meeting with a secret lover to exchange a letter... for instance... That scene then, normally rather blasé, would contain a whole story, a hidden secret... a fantasy.

The twelfth comprises something of all the other houses, and is therefore able to construct dreamscapes, novels, rich experiential comas (hospital) and religious ecstasy (monks and nuns).

It requires a certain transpersonal quality to be acknowledged by the mind of the twelfth house planner person, in order to fully understand or unleash the range of capabilities a planet here actually has. When we see that our own personality and ego is really just a small part of a reality which is both wholly our own (subconscious) and basically uncontrollable, and also linked in with the essential spiritual ether, that which runs through everybody... then we can swim with our twelfth house planets in the realm of fantasy more safely, with a less fear of what others might think of us for being so wholly willing to play in the waters of the unconscious mind (of which many are quite terrified, because that which is not allowed to exist on other planes is sent to this one... so there is actually a lot of unlived life here, a great sadness, a big secret... the "hidden enemies" which are spoken of in relation to the twelfth house are those people in the world who are aware of some of the contents of our secret or hidden lives, and even those contents themselves could be seen as "hidden enemies.")

When we understand and embrace the hidden things as disowned aspects of the collective psyche and do not either personally identify with them OR push them away, THEN, I think, we can work with them creatively, with the artistic license which is bequeathed to anybody who is explicitly working with fantasy rather than reality...

Realities can be borne of fantasies and indeed they are... But the work of dreaming those realities into being occurs in the twelfth... in private... in that infinite realm inside of us.

I have Venus in Libra in my 12th house. It makes no Ptolemaic aspects to the rest of my chart, and is in many ways a keynote of my entire chart. I love twelfth house planets...

As I said there is a certain sadness; the unlived potential does want to be actuated, and when it is expressed the fountain of energy is just naturally likely to affect more than just myself... like if I were to write a book about my experiences with love, and Venus related matters, it would be likely to strike a chord for other people, just because my whole life I've been tapped into the struggles of the collective unconscious, and can give words to that experience... but whether I'm likely to or not is questionable, as of course it's already linked to the collective unconscious anyway (my Venus nature), and really enjoys solitude and secrecy and fantasy and... stuff...

A twelfth house planet is capable of soothing in others the phenomenal wounds related to that planet though, through the power of unconditional love (it loves even the deep dark secrets, it sees and loves everything).

Neptune style... it just happens...

I wonder, does anyone else with twelfth planets feel like there is an internal block?
Like, I have an ENORMOUS amount of thought and feeling deep down. Selfless love, tremendous evil, and creativity - ability.
All locked away.
As if I could create the most beautiful love stories or descriptions of evil, terror, and darkness.
The only person who can access any of it is myself.

Does anyone else feel that way?

I have mars, technically, also mercury and Venus.

Thank you for the appreciation!

@DopGang... Yeah, I know what you mean...

Others can probably sense it in you. I do think it could be helpful to remember that it belongs to everybody in a way... So that might help you unlock it... again, look at it as not you, not other, not bad, not wrong, but integral and real.

It can be hard to express it with Mercury there too, for sure. But when you do it can be very powerful...

I have Pluto in 12th and for a good amount of years I was pretty aggressive to anyone who tried to connect with me, somehow I tend to push people away yet most of my friends are still with me, now I do feel I tend to block all of this, I know I can be super destructive with words and actions but I choose not to.

lazymoon, 12th house factors are probably the hardest to understand.

The 12th house holds the theme of service, which can be undertaken a number of different ways, but which cannot be avoided. You'll see a lot of people in public and medical services that have 12th house factors in their birth charts.

Some folks go about this service by creating quietly for an audience (writers, philosophers), but it also generally is best to do something in which there is a more spiritual ideal or where you serve the needs of others in some way without strings attached.

Give it time. Your earnest questions are a great start. Assume you know a healthy way to express all these potentials towards a fulfilling purpose in life. Reinforce the question at night before you dream if you feel it still bugs you. You'll get answers, but they will likely come in the form of synchronicities, intuitions, and doors open. It is up to you to recognize them.

Are you sure they'll never be in your face or blatant, or did you mean that they wouldn't be that way to the native themselves?

Another theme of the 12th house is finding integration with the larger sphere of life, societal or spiritual. Mental health through spiritual development, coming to a comfortable inter-mesh of your subconscious with society.

Isolation is not the answer to 12th house placements. This house and its contents cannot be understood by looking just at the outward behaviors or tendencies of others with such placements.

Planets in the 12th have just rotated through the 1st, and are then in the position, just risen, of exposure. The (subconscious) awareness of one's inner self being exposed in such a way is what makes such placements difficult, and far less direct in how they express themselves. It is the discomfort in knowing others can see into us, influence us subtly that can create cautious natives of this house.

I will put it this way. There is a deep wisdom in the 12th that knows that everyday life can never truly satisfy what the 12th House person wants. This can be the deeply frustrating thing and a source of futility. But it also means that, when the person is enlightened, they are going to be able to satisfy the 12th House planet, for themselves, through other means.

Because otherwise, it is like you are demanding that your environment give you want that placement wants. Neptune in the 12th, for instance, will not demand compassion from its environment because it knows how cruel and harsh the world can be and is forgiving of that. But Neptune in the 12th can provide that compassion to others in a subtle way. Not out of an aggressive drive to do it but for the sheer sake if doing it, which calls less attention to the act. Therefore having this placement can make you downplay your high sensitivity even though it influences so much of what you do. Its like the student who does not fit the "nerdy" profile and then ends up making straight A's all the time.

Planets in the 12th will certainly be seen, in some capacity. At the same time, even when the person consciously expresses the energy, it will not "fight" to be seen. It will be more subtle and underplayed.

Another good way to look at is that while 12th House planets are very powerful in expression, because of the sheer depth of the 12th, they go against the "stereotype" of that planet in their outward expression. Saturn in the 1st and the 12th both usually produce "old souls". But a 1st House Saturn can behave with way more seriousness than the casual or carefree-seeming 12th House Saturn, whose level of maturity and wisdom can kind of blindside and surprise you in situations where we have to be serious or work hard.

It's because you feel planets in the 12th and feelings rise to the surface but then also come and go. So these planets have that ebb and flow to them, which is why they can be so overwhelming when not worked with.

I feel that way. I think (like I KNOW IT) that I could create great stuff and this is just here but I

can't touch it. You could say that it is just blind ambition but I'am so sure of these skills. In

the same time I am not so confident so it is all messed up.

You right, I shouldn't push myself to act like everyone else just because Mercury must to be Mercury.

It is so easy to forget about it.
