Hi everyone, so as I've been analyzing my chart more I've really been trying to come to grips with my ascendant aspects. The two aspects I'm really wondering about in my natal are Uranus square Ascendant and mainly Neptune square Ascendant (I haven't found much on this aspect at all). So with that in mind I'm asking for some wisdom on what these aspects could mean for a person and what do they have to do with appearance (especially Neptune square Ascendant)

These are very different, but you may have both making it difficult to slice the difference for you personally.

Uranus square Asc reasserts at various times in unpredictable fashion an electric identity that makes you stand out whether you like it or not. It brings an attitude of independence/indifference into the relational dynamic. There is a distinct on/off pattern can can be quite sudden. (Take Angelina Jolie for example.) These natives are turned off by dependence and unimaginative lives. They are turned on by the extraordinary and those on the fringes.

Asc/identity is in strong tension with what transcends the mundane (Uranus), what goes beyond the norm. The specification comes from the Asc sign and the sign and house Uranus is in, whether that relates to unusual domestic arrangements (4th house), or unusual thought (3rd), etc. The person is distinct and strong in their tastes and can be met on the level of ideals and intellect.

Physically Uranus square Asc tends to reinforce fixed quality, even squaring out the facial outline as much as any fixed sign IF the aspect is tight enough or unaltered by other planets in strong aspect. It also tends to bring out unusual physical characteristics or nerve/electric/brain syndromes.

Neptune square Asc sits in a far more passive posture typically in observant, sensitive perception; it is a far more susceptible or impressionable state and may mean intuition or being easily led astray from one's true self. This perceptiveness tends to come out when dealing with those they are not as personally involved with directly. It dissolves much of the usual ego in the 'self' related to the Asc identity (I'll be what you need me to be ...). Sacrifices are made often far too easily, and relationship is experienced as a place of sacrifice. They are turned on by the chance to help someone or by a dream shared with another. They are turned off by insensitivity and harshness.

Asc/identity is in strong tension with what one can imagine or with what feels like empathy. There is a strong drive to make self into the more ideal person in nearly ever relationship according to what is imagined as best (for you or them). There are people pleasing tendencies in this aspect -- very unlike with Uranus.

Physically Neptune square Asc tends to elongate the face/head or at least round it out, making mutable or cardinal quality more noticeable, even as much as any such signs if in tight enough aspect and unaltered by other planets in similarly tight aspects. Problems tend to be more in the fluid systems, toxicity, kidneys, bladder, sometimes with secondary nerve/anxiety issues.

Wow thanks again Kannon! You hit everything I've been feeling from these two aspects my whole life. You really are incredible! Also, you were right, I do have both. It's like a crazy ride for my libra ascendant. Would you say that Uranus square ascendant could come off as weird at first? Also with Neptune square ascendant, do you think people might have an idealized view of me or I may come off as something I'm not at first? I feel like those things are true for me at least

I have all of these aspects, M, right down to the libra ascendant and (I assume?) cap sun. Everything you wrote, Kannon, was spot on and I've been trying to separate these aspects for awhile. This made it so much more clear.

Also, I do very much feel that people have a false impression of me upon first meeting. And having Neptune so close to my sun as well, I feel like I have trouble getting people to see me as I actually am on any level.

Cap Sun and Libra ascendant, yep! That's so cool we are almost astro twins! I had trouble separating them too, I'm glad it helped you as well.

I feel you on people having a wrong first impression, that happens to me all the time. I have trouble letting people see the real me too. Just know that some people are genuinely good people and are really interested in finding out the real you.
