People seemed to like my last article on squares, so here we go with more.First of all Astrology is a LANGUAGE. The good news is that one can learn the parts. The bad news is that it takes a long time to learn the parts and a longer time to put them together, but one can do so, if one truly desires to do such, with all of one’s heart. That is what I think, at any rate Speaking of the square. First of all, it is a THWARTING. It presents an obstacle and that obstacle is stuck, in my opinion. It could be likened to a barricade on a road. One cannot go through the barricade. One must go AROUND it. In a similar manner, one must “go around” a square. One can do this by accessing one’s gifts. One can “make up” for a square but one cannot abrogate it. In a similar fashion, if a women had beautiful eyes but a strange looking mouth, she would highlight her eyes. People would not see her mouth due to the magnificence of her eyes. Conversely, if one had a beautiful mouth and unattractive eyes, one would put emphasis one one’s mouth by using bright red lipstick, for example. People would not see her eyes, due to the magnificence of her mouth. However, deep inside, there will, usually, remain an insecurity, as a result of the “flawed” feature. Let’s look at some squares. Remember, it’s hip to be a square. Let’s do some Moon squares, first. The Moon is one’s deepest heart. How do you feel when your heart is blocked? You feel frustrated. You feel sad. You may feel hopeless. Eventually, you may throw this part of yourself away into a little inner compartment. One does this for self preservation. Back to the specific squares. Saturn is one’s parental voice. It can tell one to eat his peas, keep his reputation, save his money and take a shower every day, lest you be caught in an accident with dirty clothes *sigh* Saturn can be such a kill joy but we need him, lest we go off the deep end of life’s precarious road. *another sigh* To the native who has a Saturn square, the parental voice may too, too,too critical. The parental voice may scream at him that he NEVER eats his vegetables and he will rot away with a disease if he does not stop eating so much sugar. It may scream at him that he has not done enough with his life and that he is a failure. Hence, the parental voice may become a terror in a square, whereas it had been a blessing in a trine. I hope that is clear. Let’s look at Jupiter square the Moon. Once again, the Moon is the deepest heart. Jupiter is risk. Jupiter is Mr Cool. He is “big man on campus” He has swagger.Jupiter is expansion. Jupiter will tell you to buy an expensive lottery ticket when you went into the store for milk. Jupiter will tell you to throw caution to the wind and marry that girl you just picked up in the bar. Jupiter will tell you to eat the whole cake. In the Moon/Jupiter square, we may have Jupiter telling the gentle Moon to be wild and free. The Moon, in turn, may push Jupiter away into a safe compartment, such as a naughty child subjected to “time out”, so the whole class does not get ruined with debauchery. Hence, the Moon/Jupiter square native may not know when to be wild and when to be pull back and consider the consequences. Remember that the square is, always, a STRUUGLE. I will leave this article here, lest it get too long and cumbersome. If you want me to do more articles on specific squares, I will. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I see Ami.I have on the other hand, considered a square to be "externally perceived resistance". So the individual with it can act over- sensitive and even downright forceful- because they are touchy about anyone challenging them on the issues involved in the two planets concerned IP: Logged |

This is INCREDIBLE! I wrote a whole essay just now on this very aspect. And I quickly edited it out-as I thought it too long

Venus Square the Moon in the Natal Both Venus and the Moon are “yin” planets. In Chinese theory, the yin is the passive/feminine principle. Yang is the active/male principle. The concept of yin and yang helps to understand how planets act with each other.
In this case, there are two yin planets, so the square is not as harsh as would be a Mars/Pluto square, for example, in which both planets are yang. Back to the Moon/Venus square. The Moon is one’s deepest heart. Venus is one’s love nature. Venus is what we find beautiful and pleasing. This extends to things we wear, how we decorate our houses, food and traits we find attractive in other people. A Venus in Gemini(me) is attracted to the mind and to words. Those are the domain of Gemini. A Venus in Scorpio may be attracted to intensity. This could translate to liking sultry, black clothes, for example. She may like interiors with dark wood and dark colors( I don’t know why the den of Don Corleone is coming to mind) A Venus in Scorpio may like intense music and art, as well. If one has a Venus/Moon square, the native may feel as if her love nature does not work well with her emotions. She may feel clumsy about expressing herself when she loves someone. She may feel shy about sharing her emotions. She may feel clumsy in social situations because Venus rules social graces. She may feel as if she does not know how to say the right thing at the right time. She may not know what to say at a party. She may not know how to be socially at ease. This square may be more of a nagging kind of “feeling uncomfortable” rather than a “glaring” kind of struggle as may be the case with Mars square Pluto, which can be a raging temper. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Great writing, I love your take on the sqares. I think I finally understand them but what would you say about 0' Aries sun square 29 degree Gemini north node? Is it something about maybe getting to the true ego of the person/destiny. North node is in 12th house btw.IP: Logged |

Thank you, Gracha
Sun sq the NN may make it very hard for your ego, which I see as the core of who you are, your identity, to work toward your purpose. They may fight each other. Let me give an example. If I am an outgoing person such as a Gemini, who likes to have fun and my NN tells me I need to work in a hospice or someplace that is very serious and grave, my ego would fight my NN That is just an example from the top of my head,G lol ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Thank you Ami, great example because I've worked with hospice and elderly patients, but i'm not a fan of hospital type careers. Honestly I HATE that type of work. I worked in a group home for years and eventually made manager (which I loved and found I excelled at btw) but hated the caregiving aspect. I like helping people but this has to be done in a different aspect which is why I'm going back to school to study law. I have a 9th house sun/mercury don't know if this will help my career much but i'll give my all. Also Ami, my gemini moon is conjunct the north side inside the 12th house. IP: Logged |

I really like that make up example you used in accordance to squares, how exentuating our positive qualities can overshadow the negatives (squares). Do you by chance know more info about angle squares, like Ascendant squares to the NN/SN? IP: Logged |

This is all the squares I have in my simple natal chart:Sun square Uranus Sun square Chiron Moon square Mars Moon square Jupiter (you covered it already) Moon square Pluto Mercury square Neptune Venus square Mars Venus square Jupiter Venus square Pluto Venus square MC Mars square ASC Jupiter square ASC Pluto square ASC I'm still learning about my squares. Because I don't truly understand them yet so I feel socially and mentally awkward all the time. It's even harder to be in a group environment.
