I mean mainly for natal aspects, but if you want to talk about others too, I'm fine with that.I know this is more like a general, theoretical sounding question, but I'm curious, statistically speaking, what orb sizes do you guys use. Thanks IP: Logged |

For conjunctions and oppositions I use 8, trines I count up to 6, and sextiles are usually up to 4.IP: Logged |

Totally depends on the planets involved. Luminaries get wider orbs than planets, especially outer planets. Natals: 9-10° for luminaries in aspect to each other, a bit less (6-7) as you deal with other planets. Declination (parallels, contra-parallels) around 1-1.5°, wider for luminaries in aspect with each other. Transits: 4-5° max for major aspects, depending on how slow they are, which means faster moving planets actually can have wider functional orbs. Declination 1° or less. Progressions: 0°05' max with Moon up to 0°08'. In declination 04', Moon up to 06'. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Rising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |

well i'm obsessed with a certain opposition in my chart. But it's very wide rofl. but still- besides my bias of trying to prove that aspect worthy (maybe it is)
i use 8 for oppositions, 7 for conjunction (illogical? maybe.) it depends on what you value. 4 for sextile, 6.5 trine. 1.7 for quintiles. 1 for septiles. (cause i dont want a weak septile. i only care for a strongish one) thats why i said it depends on what you want. i have a 8.5 neptune conj asc. I dont consider it strong in the slightest. nor a 6 degree. i only value a strong trine. so that's why i said 6.5 is in the somewhat strong to me. i dont like trines anyway IP: Logged |

when i actually used a tool to view the real angles, i actually thought i saw a square being + or - 12 degrees from the exact square- that tension i thought was still inherent- although obivously weak same with an opposition, i thought it might even spread to 17 degrees, the kind of "pulling in different directions" energy. yeah i drew them on screen. then you can see them.
