What aspects would cause one's family members to be prideful (not the good kind) or not very humble? I'm not talking about the good pride, I'm talking about the negative type of pride!What signs, or aspects would cause this? IP: Logged |

The only person I know that is this way has mars conjunct asc. This in no way is meant to imply that all people with this placement are arrogant. Asc in the beginning stages of CapThe mars / asc conjunction stood out to me in their chart because I noticed (maybe guessed is a better word) that it along with a cancer / leo cusp moon gave them a strong need to appear better than others, especially where family and career are concerened. The other chart factors that may have added to this are an aries / taurus cusp sun and venus in aries (competitive).

mars or sun in the 4th house and for siblings specifically i would say mars or sun in the 3rd house or aspecting mercury can indicate prideful family members. IP: Logged |

I've seen it in other people. I don't want to reveal too much about my family. For example, I've seen a Scorpio (not a family member) not talking to someone unless they had money. He looked down on those with not enough money! IP: Logged |

i wouldn't say that I'm prideful towards my family. I would say that I need boundaries between me, and their big egos, or else things can get ugly really quickly! It's more of a protection thing with me than a pride thing.Of course, how do you know I'm not biased and just making myself look good? I guess you don't, or can't. IP: Logged |

I have an aunt like this, but I've never done her chart, and offhand I'm not even sure what her birthday is (and there are plenty of others for me to confuse her birthday with, and as she has never liked me due to her hatred against her sister--my mother--I never was welcome into her life). Maybe I'll get it later, if I can do so casually. But I know someone who had a packed 12H that could make her this way, and I think it's not so much that it gave her "pride" as it did guilt and self-doubt that she tried to overcome by finding scapegoats and the like. That would fit in just how many people who are vocal about their hatred of certain groups people reflecting their own insecurities and guilt about themselves. I don't feel like giving examples now. I've seen insecurity can be toxic when expressed negatively, yes.

Is mars conjuncting from your 1st or your 12th. In the person I was talking about, their mars is coming from the 12th - while still assertive, as most mars/asc people can be, she is a bit on the insecure side and very worried about how she appears to people (inferiority complex). She wants desperately to be viewed as wealthy and successful. I'm guessing that your sag sun helps to blow a lot of this off as in you probably don't stress much for too long. Usually sag is indifferent to what others think (an endearing trait). IP: Logged |
