I have an 8th house Moon with an exact opposition to Pluto. On top of that, it's in Gemini.

I like to think that the irrational, emotionally bound side of me clashes with my logical, reasonable side. I am super sensitive but with all of my air in my chart, I try so desperately to figure out why I am feeling this way and in turn I tear myself apart.

I once met a guy that I had a crush on. All I did was see him and was extremely attracted to him, and the next day I obsessed over him so much. It was like seeing him installed him into my brain and put him as my wallpaper; I couldn't stop thinking about him and the tension that had built up inside of me was absolutely unbearable. I wanted to explode. It's like my insides are being stretched and ripped apart.

One time, I had found out that my number one favorite character in an anime had died. Now, as an 8th house moon, you should understand how easy it is to get attached to someone like that. Finding out about their death was a traumatizing experience for me, but thinking about it I set myself up for this sort of experience by building such a strong attachment to this character. I went to bed at 9:00 after having a mental breakdown with a friend of mine on Skype and cried for hours straight. Devastated would be an understatement. I would literally turn in my bed like I was plagued with anxiety, get up and sit in the bathroom just staring at my phone with millions of thoughts running through my head. I felt physically sick and unable to physically do anything. I was completely broken. If anything, thank god that I am a master at hiding my emotions; otherwise this horrifying memory would've been filled with hate and regret. I fell asleep at 5:00 in the morning and got up at 9, went to Karate, came back and basically walked around my room. I would randomly burst into tears over the ordeal, lay on my bed and get up each 5 to 10 minutes, and freak out. I wrote a panic email to a favorite music artist of mine whose music I was listening to in order to get over it, to which I didn't get a reply. I wrote a poem on it and posted it as a fanfic, and I physically couldn't eat. I would eat something and have trouble swallowing it, and would feel like I was going to puke. I'm very fortunate due to the fact that he didn't actually die, which was a massive relief.

That's just one part of my experiences. I've had worse experiences and such, but oh man it was horrible. My suggestion is to learn to come to grips with your emotions and understand them, know that this is a part of you and that there is nothing you can do about it. It's not easy but it's something

I'm sorry you feel this way.

I also have Moon in the 8th but in Capricorn and Venus in Virgo, my aspects are not as difficult as yours (except for the Capri part) but I think that we all are very sensitive people that feel too much and can't or don't know how to express ourselves.

One thing that worked for me was therapy. These past 3 years had been a nightmare for me and my family, and I got worse and worse every day, closing myself off and feeling very anxious. 6 months ago, after hitting rock bottom, I started therapy and that helped a lot, I was and I'm really committed to improving and be more open about my feelings.

Moon in Scorpio 8th house with Pluto conjunct. You can feel how intense my emotions are. I feel my heart will explode. My heart and chest area gets cold. I feel like barfing all the time, I stop eating. My heart area literally cools down and hurts. Heart feels heavy.

Solution: I like pain in a weird manner. So my analysis for me or people like us is we like pain and such problems. That's why we keep on inviting it on some level. I go through with it, realizing that the pain is temporary and no matter how much it hurt right now, I will eventually be alright and get over it and something new will come to hurt me. (And no matter how much you think it is the worst thing you will ever experience. The truth is something new will 200% come to hurt you more because life is really big.. and believe me YOU WILL LAUGH AT YOURSELF ONE DAY FOR HURTING SO MUCH OR WASTING YOUR TIME FOR THAT BOY. I CAN GUARANTEE IT)

And within a week or few months I am seriously over it. Atleast on surface level. YOU WILL BE OVER IT TOO. TRUST ME.

New solution: I distract myself with new problems. I have started using this strategy. If my leg is hurting, I will intentionally hurt my hand harder sothat I forget about leg pain. Hope you can understand. And I helped.

I am going through with it, my ideal man will get married next month. But I am going through with all the emotions and feelings knowing it will help me to grow and I will eventually be alright. ☺

I relate to this thread on a deep level. If we get technical, my Moon is officially in 7th house, but my Moon is so close to the 8th house cusp, I believe it has traits of being in 8th house as well.

And let me tell you that my emotions drive me nuts. My feelings run far deeper than anyone would expect for a Gemini Moon and I could probably go on and on about the trivial things that bother me. It's utterly ridiculous how much stuff can make me teary-eyed. I think that my problem is a bit different from the typical Moon in 8th house experience though.

I haven't found a way to deal with my emotions that keeps them from completely overwhelming me. Not everything makes me cry, but I can be affected on a personal level by the simplest stuff. It's weird, and like I said, I think my problem is a bit different than Moon in 8th house, mainly because I question if even Moon in 8th house people are as sensitive and emotional as I am.

However, my main suggestion to you would be to find a creative outlet and just release all those feelings in a creative way. It doesn't even matter if you have artistic talent or writing talent or anything. With emotions, the important thing is to express them in a healthy way. I think keeping a journal would help you work through your feelings too. For me, singing songs brings emotional relief.

Also, if you need to, don't be afraid to see a therapist to help you cope with your feelings. Just getting things off your chest can be beneficial at times.

8H is a fixed house. I don't really do well with certain changes. I like some things nailed to the floor, predictable, rhythmic. Sometimes a simple loss of rhythm with another person has felt like falling into a deep existential abyss. Thing is, I'm aware that that's unreasonable. It's so far beyond reasonable, it's like a caricature of emotion. So I cannot take my emotions seriously sometimes ~ they're exaggerated. I have to ignore them, work around them, cannot really modulate them (though I'm getting better at this, finally.)

I read self-help books, spiritual books, practice just letting things go. It's rewarding to try and orient myself a whole different way. To try and do life differently. To avail myself of inner freedoms and learn to sidestep my own mechanisms...this can be more fun than the gratification of having whatever I sought. It's a feat of strength, creativity, and a little bit of help from the universe sometimes, maybe.

But I'm really just a kook...incredulous about myself, much of the time.

ETA: I think transiting Mars conjunct my moon, transiting Saturn squaring my moon today, makes things worse. Usually I just have low moods here and there. Lately it's been almost constant.

My old roommate from college had a 8th house Leo moon and his moods were always shifting. I didn't know this until years later though. I think that spoke more to just the tension he felt with wanting to be up and carefree but then feelings things so deeply he couldn't quite get it to balance out.

He was in theatre and was a film studies major. That gave him his outlet but in his off time, he spent a lot of time alone.

I got the moon in 8th conjunct NN and pluto and square Saturn

For me, self-control, introspection, awareness and spirituality/god are the keys to mastering my emotions

Once you know how to handle your feelings you can gain a lot of insight, wisdom and strength that other people don't have because they never dig down as deeply as you do

There is a saying that goes "No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell."

I have already died and I went through hell and I've come back stronger and nothing can bring me down anymore. I know that I can handle everything that comes along.

There is a great potential also for helping and healing other people.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I know that this typically used for combating anxiety and depression (For which I have been diagnosed), but even if you do not suffer with these disorders, CBT is a really good way to deal with instense emotions. If you are mindful, you can rationalize and discrease your distress to a more manageable amount. Sometimes, you can illiminate it entirely. Not always, but when it happens it's always nice.

Looks interesting, I'm going to research this. Thanks

I've always done meditation in order to keep my emotions under control. Even a simple 15 minute meditation for me allows me to keep my emotions inline and cleanse myself of all my tension and frustration that I am feeling on the inside. It is very helpful and I highly recommend it to any 8th house Moon individual to practice.

Even though it's a difficult placement, I am glad that I have it. It allows me to have such great insight into myself and into life itself. With great power comes great responsibility

That's a very interesting approach to meditation and emotion regulation and control. Is there a certain type of meditation practice you do?

When I first started I did guided meditations that I found on YouTube and it worked really well. When I meditate though, I close my eyes and sit with my legs crossed and hold that stance. It's important to have a very peaceful and serene enviroment to meditate in, otherwise the outside distractions can easily disrupt the meditation process.

I usually listen to peaceful, calm music. Ambient music is perfect for meditation. Listening to something puts me at ease instead of simply focusing on the sounds around me, unless I am surrounded by the beauty of nature. Getting lost in the music and/or nature and letting my thoughts take me away as I tell myself positive, balancing thoughts really helps put me at peace. One thing that I learned that helped me with meditation is to let your mind wander and to not put effort into trying meditation. Meditation is effortless; that's why it can be so challenging.
