Hey guys - does anyone have experience with or know information on the South Node conjunct the ascendant in natal?

Someone told me it gives a difficult personality, and I found this online but that's all the info I can find:

Those with the South node conjunct the ascendant are typically shy, quiet spiritually oriented people. Many people who can accurately recall detailed information regarding past lives have this placement. With the south node conjunct to the ascendant, there is a need to 'wake up' from the past and live in the now. Ambition is often thin and the ego is not well formed with the south node here and if there is not help from a mate, often these people do not realize their dreams. South node/ascendant people can feel as if they do not really exist and can be somewhat neglected due to their lack of "showing up." The part of the physical body that is ruled by the sign on the ascendant can often have a weakness infirmity or illness. If the Moon is added to the mix at the south node, this placement is even more acute.

I'd say forget about negative things some websites write.

I mean, who can confirm for sure that the south node is connected to past lives (which I personally don't believe they exist, it's just that there are many other current lives on different astral levels, but that's another discussion..), and not about the abilities/qualities that a person is more familiar with and how they have been treated as a child?

I don't know but personally to me, people with planets conjunct their SN have an aura of spirituality, morality and angelic innocence about them. like people who are too good for this world kind of thing.

delusional astrologers may label these people as having huge karma debt, or having a difficult life, etc, but I personally don't believe this.

I just know one person with the SN in their 1st house, and their TOB isn't exact so it may or may not be conjunct the AC, but definitely in the 1st. this was one of the sweetest people I ever met, and none of the things mentioned above by you seemed to fit them.

I have this and I agree with the part "there is a need to 'wake up' from the past and live in the now"

For me it's a real pain in the butt

South Node forces us to be detached from ourselves and work towards our destiny (7th house) which actually ends up being back and force dance between 1st house and 7th house.

So for me, every time I am alone, I am mostly disgusted by the thoughts of my former self. As a result, I try to get away from the thoughts of myself, be brave and try to fit in with others and form companionships, only to realize that there is north node's smoke screen (I find people incredibly difficult)

Some people can do stupid or selfish stuff and not be bothered by it at all, while south node in 1st house people (or at least for me), would constantly be forced to regret it.

You know how some people have no problem being selfish regarding petty stuff, like being unable to admit that they are wrong (*AHEM KANNON MCFEE), lying, etc etc. We just can't do the same lol

When we are proven wrong or criticized fairly, we can't get angry instead or distract/redirect like most people. . We acknowledge our shortcomings and constantly remind ourselves of how embarrassed we felt at that moment. In this sense, I think 1st house south node people can also be considered a perfectionist
(although.. if you have mars conjunct south node in 1st house.. you'd probably be at 99% anger level almost always and be ready to explode most of times)

On the positive node, I hear south node in the 1st house people are often forced to be famous, although the fame is more like a curse to us lol. (scale of fame is decided by the aspects and the house sign).

While most people would work to be famous, 1st house South Node people would gain fame through their work.

There are many more positives for having a 1st house/ASC conjunct south node but can't think of much for now

Thank you guys for your responses!

I've only just started looking into this aspect, but it describes the difficulty I have felt of not 'showing up' to social situations enough, or like was said - bring too genuine and full of guilt about the mistakes I've made, that people use it against me, usually just to coverup their own mistakes! Whereas my conscience would be far too guilt-ridden to do this.

I have a venus Pisces, so I thought that description was apt enough to give away power to people, but this placement really shows the added intensity!

The sweet innocence I can relate to as well, due to a high-functioning conscience and guilt!

But that's not helpful - I'm too much of a pushover, even with an Aries stellium.

All I can say is, thank god for self-awareness as we get older!!

During my research, I read the sign that the SN is in, will lead to illness in the area that sign rules. So for me, Libra and intestines - IBS!

So due to a lack of self-awareness and growth with this placement, I am getting IBS. The more I am comfortable with myself and learn not to give away my power, the more I strive towards my Aries NN goals...

...easier said than done tho!!

I hadn't realized this was inching so near mine but that SN there is such a PITA. I hate
this. I need a huge amout of chocolate and healing frequencies. I couldn't figure it out and thought there must be more to this than I think. Looked it up - thank you OP for posting it.

I guess I need to meditate to release the "past energies". So odd I learned of this while discovering my "sparkpoint". The ring/cycle/wheel.
Past-now-future .. rinse+ repeat. I suppose.

Im a Virgo sun in the 12th, Virgo rising with my south node conjunct ASC as well as mercury and Lilith. Yes Im about as cynical, introverted and analytical as it gets

But for the south node I definitely feel some of what others have commented. I am constantly moving toward my north node in Pisces in the 7th but it’s like...I have to go back and reflect on my south node very often to really move forward. It’s hard to explain but it is a constant back and forth. Like I’ll go through life and events happen and I experience and I feel it in the moment but I have to go back into myself and analyze how it fits into the larger context of my life. I am very aware of the past and how it influences my present in this lifetime and others. I am introverted and very spiritual and always have been in touch with that part of myself and comfortable with my need for solitude.

Overall I think the node there actually brings a lot of utility and some of my biggest strengths but being in Virgo it is also really hard because I have a difficult time staying present, always looking toward the future in sort of an anxious way. When planets activate my north node in Pisces I can live in the present more but it almost feels scary, like I’m losing control in a way. Like I’m dreaming almost.

Anyways these are just how I noticed it manifests for me. I think it does more good in my chart than bad in the first house. Im very self aware. I know myself inside and out and I think it has a lot to do with it. Sometimes it does bring a painful amount of awareness though because I know all my weaknesses too lol.

I would think people with South Node conjunct ascendant would give a lot of importance to partners and partnership, since their north node would be in 7th house.

Their luck and fortune would be dependent on who they partner with, who they marry. And they probably don't have to go looking for partners, partners would just come to them as if by fate.

I have South Node in the first house closely conjunct Ascendant in Libra. I don't quite understand the placement myself yet. All I can say is that the above doesn't describe me very well at all.

I'm somewhat introverted... but definitely not shy or quiet. I have Mars conjunct Mercury on the Midheaven... you'll notice me when I'm in a room! I'm blunt and bold and kinda flamboyant. I have an interest in astrology obviously, but overall not spiritually inclined. I'm not an ambitious sort of person, true, but I get what's needed done and when I have an interest in something I'll go for it. And I have never needed a partner to do so. I'm aromantic and asexual, I've never had a partner of any sort, nor do I feel the need for one.
