Why is almost nobody talking about this? Every person I meet adores their Moon! But I don't know, I don't have Cancer traits (I have Moon in Cancer). The only thing that identifies me about my Moon is my mom's personality and the beautiful relationship I had with her, but NOT my personality at all. So I'm searching, I don't understand why I don't feel identified with my Moon!!! I feel more like a Leo Moon and I have Leo in 4th house.
I also have Mars in 4th house and that describes my mom too, my childhood, like Moon in Aries. So why nobody talks about this? The 4th house is ruled by Cancer and Cancer is ruled by the Moon. Sooooooo, it makes sense to identify us with the planets we have in 4th house. Or with the aspects and house, for example I have Moon in 3rd and I have some Gemini Moon traits or maybe all of them, I have Moon opposite Uranus and that describes the relationship I have with my family in general like Aquarius Moon. And so on...
What do you think?

Planets in houses essentially shows us which part of life (houses) it is that we approach in a certain manner (planet). For example, moon in third house implies that you approach third house stuff in a moon-like way. Yes the sign is cancer, but it is only with third-house stuff that you express cancerian traits.

Moon in cancer is potentially a lot of things, but you would probably only feel moon-in-cancer ey over siblings, communication and books (maybe you are a crier when you read?) and short travel- maybe you are cautious or over protective with these things, but not generally.

I hope I'm explaining this right, its a little hard to put into words.

Leo Mars in the fourth house: proudly impulsive and protective at home, something like that.

I do know what you mean, and I think it is discussed, but sometimes for the sake of brevity and simplicity, planets in signs are discussed more. Houses just explain where exactly that energy is expressed. The house can certainly subdue or enhance the planets' energy. The first 6 houses in fact are a bit more introspective, focusing on self, the other 6 are more social houses anyway so there is that too.

I like to think of these things like this:

Sign: Adverb
Planet: Adjective
House: Preposition

Hope this helped. It was so simple in my mind and now I think I've just confused myself....ahaha

I've often thought the IC is the 'moon within the moon.'
You can see/feel it in tandem with a person's moon, but also somehow beneath it. However moon is definitely 'modus operandi,' so to speak...
I have a friend with no Scorpio planets in her whatsoever, no pluto, nothing in the 8th house, nada. Yet I always felt a strong scorpio undercurrent to her. Lurking beneath the surface. She gave me her birth time and wallah! Scorpio IC. This has happened a few times, with a Leo IC, and an Aries IC.

I do know that when my Gemini moon conjuncts someone's sun, I have never felt like 'supporting' them, or feeling somehow fulfilled by their outer solar expression like typical descriptions say I should.
However.
When someone's Aries Sun conjuncts my IC, or even in my 4th, I feel exactly this. Super supportive of their solar endeavours. Very emotionally fulfilled just by being around them.
I've always thought that was interesting...

Remember that, like FruityLlama said, houses/aspects modify greatly. Avoid generic descriptions too. Most people just regurgitate information and never bother to explore/experiment for themselves.

What do you think?

Well, when you incorporate the house position as well as the outer-planet. Things change.

Your relationship with your Mom could be due to the fact that you have Moon in 3rd in opposition aspect to Uranus.

Moon in 3rd often suggest a maternal figure/mother(Moon) that feels more like a sibling(3rd).

The opposition aspect to Uranus also suggests that the relationship between you and those whom you consider yourself close to(Moon), could be a lot more intellectual (3rd)and/or prone to some periods of detachment(Uranus).

This detachment is not entirely conscious and could be because you often feel a need to evaluate and reevaluate what is going on around and within you all the time. Beacuse seldom do things stay static. All things change and feel "new".

As a result, your brain function/perceives things in a lot more unique way that makes you unique even to yourself

So you may feel that you are NOT a girl. But NOT yet a woman etc. And this "in between" makes your feelings very unique and subjective because you rarely feel like you fit in.

Cancer is essentially a very emotional sign and tends towards dependency. But the opposition to Uranus tends to suppress that side a great deal. As you know that you are not one who is easily understood or can depend on anyone for long.

Moon-Uranus opposition may also have you not able to relax or feel settled. There is an inner restlessness that is apparent (especially when in 3rd house),that may make coupling/friendships quite a challenge.

Another scenario would be that early in your life(Moon),you were required to express yourself eloquently(3rd).

Since Uranus is involved by opposition, it could be that there were circumstances that made it improbable for you to go through the natural kindergarten process of teaching you the ABC's or bonding with your peers.

It is more likely that you were just thrown in the deep end and expected to swim i.eyou moved around so much that you had to make friends in new places and learn quickly the dynamics of every relationship you formed.

Maybe you started school early? Maybe you changed schools often? Maybe you changed neighborhoods often? Whatever it was, the early, elementary stages of learning(3rd) were disrupted/fluctuated(Uranus) so much that you just couldn't find security(Moon)

Your dissociation with Cancer is that part of yourself that could never be "still" and allow itself to be attached to any environment for very long.

It takes some deep introspection to connect with your moon, and some are easier than others. The house your moon sign is in has a huge influence over it as well! It ties in with your whole chart too. The degree of your moon sign could impact it as well. With your Cancer moon in the 3rd house, you may be intuitive and channel emotions into being an intellectual, be skilled with communicating (you can feel out what is best to say), knowledge will make your heart happy, and you probably are a psychic receptor to people's thoughts/communications.

Uranus does not mix well with Cancer, especially in opposition, so it's no doubt you feel conflicted! Uranus wants excitability and change, and Cancer wants stability and roots. What degree is your Cancer moon?

For example, I'm a Leo moon (1 degree) and I strongly identify with that, but I'm also a Cap dominant person prone to depression and that crushes my Leo moon's positive/optimistic outlook. (Parts of my chart take away traits from my moon).

Also, my fiance's moon is in Gemini (5 degrees, so it's strong) but in the 12th house. The 12th house is often described as the swallower of planets. You can see hints of his Gemini moon, and some traits are more there than others. But he hates communication, talking, and sharing personal things, he doesn't show emotions or his mood swings easy or talk about them. So his house took away typical traits of his Gemini moon.

It all takes time, the goal is to know yourself and with studying your chart you can achieve that.

Some times planets are people.

Also moon can also tell you how you would nurture people. This style of nurturing may come from a cancer type mother.

Moon = mother & nurturing.

Maybe it's only referring to your mother or maybe it's referring to how you would raise your children.

Just a small thought.
