Has anyone tried to live without Astrology after discovering it?

I started diving into Astrology when I was 10 years old and each year it feels like I add another fascinating discovery to my many layers of Astrological knowledge BUT Astrology can be addictive and as for myself, I think "obsessed" would be too nice of a word to describe my passion for it. & as you can guess, I've tried countless times to try to meet and get to know people without Astrology but I'm always finding myself digging for answers and searching for birth information to form a chart and/ or synastry.

I love Astrology but I feel like it takes a lot of life's mysteries away while adding to it at the same.

Do any of you here on LL find it easy to detach and let go after learning so much anfld if so, what's your secret?

No, it's not easy living without it once having discovered it. You would have to really not care about in order to do that. Now, I'm always making astrological connections to worldly experiences. It's a way of condensing down the complex in order to be able to understand it imo.

I can live without it. Whenever I feel like it, I just quit it cold turkey, after a while the habit of analyzing everything from astrological viewpoint starts to fade away on its own, and then one day it seems like I got into astrology once upon a time, it all seems like a distant past, a chapter that has already been closed. And finally, that state arrives in which my slate is completely clean, with not even a trace of astrology left on it.

I got into it as a teenager and then I quit for years....I rediscovered it at a weird time in my life. I have very mixed feelings about it. I think consulting a thoughtful, gifted astrologer can be extremely enlightening and a super-useful and thoughtful way to work with your life and yourself (I'm working with one now , who is very knowledgable and sensible), but some uses of astrology (and especially anonymous forums) have been VERY unhealthy for me....then again, I've also met brilliant and beautiful people on these forums who have helped my health.

For a while I banned myself from using forums. Not from turning to astrology, but just from anonymously discussing it.

If any use of astrology feels like it lowers my vibration a bit and/or i get obsessive about it and put energy in it that should be going elsewhere (this happens to me, 8h stellium), it's time to take an astrology break.

Astrology helps to explain what I feel intuitively but have no raw data to explain away.

I still instinctively get on well with Virgo Moon, Taurus Moon,Mars in Libra and Venus in Gemini well before I even know the position.

The difference is that I now am able to "discern" the energy and just have thoughts that sound like "there must be a Virgo Moon here" etc.

Many people the world over don't care for it. But that doesn't stop them from having to go through transit and progressions.

The difference being that they may interpret such events as "bad luck" or "I didn't know what was happening to me" periods of their life that send them into therapy. Especially when they are ignorant of having to look within themselves.

I like the fact that I have a candle. Albeit one that others think is "rubbish". As there is a level of comfort in knowing that I can review what is happening within objectively (Moon in 3rd).

Now is Astrology like religion/spirituality in this way? Yes. If spiritually is inner guidance and constant introspection, astrology has served that purpose for me for a long time now.

Detachment is not necessary, unless I want to "forget" what I have come to know about me and the kind of person I am

No way I'll never go fully without it

There was a period of time (maybe 6 months) where I laid off it, but each time I go back to it, I learn more and more

At times, I feel like it's the only thing I have

No.

It's just way too accurate for me to just drop it like that. I was never a believer until I went beyond the Sun signs, and knowing the mysteries of life has made me more accepting of things like political differences and culture changes (I've been researching all this stuff, and for example I noticed how quickly the 80s went from New Wave music, which is VERY progressive sounding like Neptune in Sagittarius, to hair bands and heavy metal, which are very intense like Pluto in Scorpio, once Pluto and Neptune changed signs. Throughout the Bush years, I was wondering when the 90s culture would come back for example).

With all that I know about the characteristics of all the signs, the appearances of all the signs and astrological generations, the influence of the three outer planets on generational character, culture, and politics, the political indicators in people's charts, etc. there is no going back.

great thread.

last year, for about 3 months, I lived without astrology. I went about doing what I felt I needed to do without consulting if it was the right time astrologically. My life didn't get any worse than it was before.

Honestly, i think it doesn't matter. In my life (can't speak for others) what is supposed to happen will happen and what is not supposed to happen will not happen. I should just give up trying to control my fate when I have been shown over and over again that it's not in my hands.

maybe sometimes this year, I will definitely drop astrology. I felt so free when I was not busy checking the stars. But I have to have a strong faith in something greater than me to make living without astrology worth it.

I can, cause sometimes you meet new people and don't know their birthchart and got no way of finding out... and then sometimes even though you get to know their DOB you still don't know their Age perhaps, and just knowing the Sun sign, doesn't say much IMO

So in that way I usually force myself to not know too much.... but still I find myself guessing a lot, and that is actually funnier to guess their energies and signs, and then later on when I might find out their correct birthday and year, it is so interesting to find out if I was right (sometimes I am, other times I get surprised a lot)

So in that way I think astrology is 50-50 anyways, I am usually able to guess some of their main energies, but the rest they have probably changed about themselves, through life experiences and life choices ^^

I discovered astrology through my mum; she is a professional astrologer.

Astrology is a part of my life, no matter how I evolve. I believe in astrology and continue to validate it through life experiences; although sometimes my inexperience in astrology restricts me to make the connections with energies.

To answer the question: I would not want to live without it..........

not just yet 😊
