Venus in 9th often suggests that one enjoys (Venus)learning(9th). Or that relationships (Venus)are often a path to universal understanding (9th) of their relationship with others and the cosmos. So with Venus in 9th, the lover is seen as more of an intellectual standpoint from which the native comes to understand(9th) the dynamics of relationships(Venus) as a whole.
It can seem impersonal-as if one is looking from the outside in. But it is the way that one functions and can intellectualize/build a philosophy(9th) on what being in a relationship means/what the meaning of love is(Venus)
There is also a tendency with Venus in 9th, to idolize(Venus)philosophical ideals(9th). So be mindful of that when you are drawn to read books that speak of love i.e "Men are from Mars/Women are from Venus" types of things.
As long as they are not the the "be all" answer but a perspective and treated as such, confusion can be kept at bay.
Often you will hear Venus in 9th saying "I learned that with my relationship with John, I came to....." or "When John said this to me , i learned that..." etc.
Pluto is a very slow moving planet and so its ramifications are thorough and long -lasting and absolute(most times).
There might be something realized in relation to your relationship. If there is a secret /some unknown factor, it may come up and change your perspective on the coupling situation in a profound way.
Around this time, you may be thinking profound(Pluto) thoughts(9th) around your relationships(Venus) that may bring up fears or obsessive tendencies. Feelings may run very deep.
Your partner has Neptune as the ruler of the 7th and is placed in the 2nd. In both these houses/areas of life, boundaries are an issue for him.
Neptune in 2nd may suggest a self worth(2nd) that is fused together with others(Neptune) i.e "when you suffer, I suffer" situation.
This is further emphasized by Neptune ruling the 7th-meaning that the partner may feel very much "fused" or inextricably combined to you.
The Pluto square to Neptune may bring upon a rude awakening on their part. They may notice and see very clear differences between you and them that they had missed before.
Now this is not likely to be something that happens overnight but over time. As Pluto is slow and thorough. So the differences may motivate them to think more deeply on whether or not such discrepancies would weigh heavily on the relationship long-term.
Both of you probably looked at each other from an idealistic point of view with Venus-Neptune conjunct. But Pluto squaring both these planets will ask; Is that the stuff that real relationships are made of?
And by the end of the transit, the answer will be clear to both or either one of you. Like it or not
