I have Venus in Aries in my 10th square Neptune in Capricorn and Uranus in Capricorn in my 7th and feel like they really ruin things for me.

By 'unlucky in love', do you mean:

-someone that lacks love in their life and never meets anyone OR has lack of romantic encounters due to whatever reason

-someone that does have plenty of romantic encounters and relationships but they all went sour and were 'negative' in the person's eyes

Well just off the top of my head, I would guess Venus-Saturn aspects and maybe Venus-Chiron aspects.

Or Saturn aspecting your 7H ruler.

Even Venus-Pluto aspects can attract too intense or emotionally charged people and situations that could be considered 'unlucky'

So I guess there are many aspects lol just depending on what you consider unlucky

Maybe we can post Halle Berry or Kylie Minogues chart? They are gorgeous but to me a bit unlucky but maybe they don't meet the real definition of someone unlucky in love?...don't we wish we were that unlucky lol... but they fall in love and divorce/end relationships after a few years. Halle has Neptune on the desc...Kylie has Uranus ruling her 7th conjunct Pluto ...yikes!

I consider "unlucky in love" to be short lived affairs that never go beyond that and/or the longest relationship you did have was with someone who was emotionally unavailable. And you are always the pursuer.

I've got a great double whammy having natal Saturn/Uranus conjunct in the 1st H opposite Venus in Gemini in the 7th H.

And natal Venus chart ruler is Mercury, which is in the 8th H conjunct Sun and square Pluto. Oh and Venus rules my 5th H.

So I go with extremes of short lived affairs that never go anywhere, but at the same time, I get very OCD about these meaningless relationships. To point that I constantly fret about them and feel like a sore loser, even tho I didn't really even like them that much to begin with.

It doesn't help that I'm going through Saturn return at the moment so that pesky Venus opposition to Saturn/Uranus is going on natally and in transit.

Venus-Chiron aspects. I personally have the square in my natal chart, but I don't consider myself that unlucky in love. Granted, I have spent a lot of time dating people without considering what I want in a relationship. That has resulted in selecting bad partners.

Then again, my chart is full of squares. Maybe I like them or something, because I'm happy with my love life right now. Even if it ends at some point, I feel like my relationship right now has at least given me a chance to experience love properly. I'm pretty fortunate, because not everyone gets to experience the kind of love that I have.

I have seen people with many hard aspects to Jupiter be unlucky in love.

I would look at the 5th house of love affairs, ad the 7th house of partnership and marriage. What planets are there, what aspects they make with other planets, the rulerships of the houses, etc.

But to answer the original question, let's go deeper. Typical markers of unluckiness in love such as hard Venus/Saturn, Venus/Neptune and Venus/Uranus aspects, I have found many of those markers among people who have entered convent to lead a monastic life in service to their fellow men.

Mother Teresa has Venus square Saturn and Neptune in 7th.

Padre Pio has Venus conjunct Saturn in Cancer.

Sister Emannuelle has a wide orb Venus opposite saturn and a tight Venus square Neptune.

Mother Angelica has a conjunction of Venus and Uranus in Pisces. and she has Saturn in 7th house.

I could go on and on, and those people have all the markers, but they probably didn't think they were unlucky in love because their focus was not on romantic love.

That being said, I am not sure where I am going with this. Excuse my ramblings.

Halle Berry has Neptune in 7th. Nothing wrong with that. but it's a difficult aspect to have in our world because most relationships are devoid of spirituality.

If she came to me for advice, I would tell her that the best person for her would be someone with whom she has a true spiritual connection first and foremost. To find that person, she cannot focus on physical attraction and the typical stuff our society uses as markers for compatibility.

I would also tell her to nurture her own spirituality so that she doesn't come into a relationship with a lot of emotional hunger. Humans are not gods and cannot fulfill our every needs. And people with Neptune in 7th or 8th can idealize partners and marriage a little too much.

Never thought it was a bad thing to have Nep 7th...but today was an article and Halle Berry is quoted saying the following:

"'[As] women, we go into marriage thinking it’s going to last forever and that this is our prince on a shiny horse. That’s what fairy tales taught me as a kid … and I’m kind of anti–fairy tales today.''
I find that very alarming because I never, not even once believed in fairy tales...never idealized a partner even when I was 18 lol! Maybe its my Moon in Aquarius...trine Saturn...so you are correct about idealizing a partner...once she saw them as real people she was deeply disappointed!

erickaf, isn't it interesting that Halle and Kylie were involved with the same man?

Jupiter doesn't make things "great"... it exaggerates... so if it's bad, it's really bad... if it's good, it's really good.

I have Venus square Saturn (see thread in interpersonal ha) and feel it's less about bad luck and more about self-sabotage.

I've learned though that this energy can be worked through and I believe that, with adequate self-awareness, tons of patience and a brave heart, love is (probably) not out of the question

Saturn restricts, limits and delays, sometimes even denies or withholds so I would say Saturn in aspect to Venus can be tough or ruling your 5H or 7H.

Would you say having Aquarius on the 7th house cusp has the same effect? I mean Saturn being it's traditional ruler and all.

Yeah, I'd say Saturn anywhere near the 5th, 7th, even 8th houses. I think Neptune in these areas brings illusions and false hopes.

I consider myself as having been unlucky in love so far. A lot of intense, unreciprocated passion and obsession. A lot of being cheated on and/or there always being another woman whom my romantic interest chooses over me. For awhile I convinced myself that I'm "unloveable." As a result I've rejected romanticism and partnership as viable possibilities in my life.

I have Uranus and Neptune in my 7th house and I feel they bring a ton of illusion to my love life! I have to be careful about projecting onto my romantic interests. I try to bring more realism, restriction, and discipline (Saturn, basically) to this area.

Belage, I think your advice about Neptune in 7H is REALLY on point!! I need my romantic relationships to be spiritually fulfilling, and that's tough to find. Nurturing my spirituality has definitely made me a stronger, better, wiser person and because of that I can now enter partnerships in a more healthy way, less "hungry" like you say.

Capricorn rules my 7th and 8th houses as well, which I feel brings a lot of seriousness and restriction.

Ceres and Lilith are in my 8th house. I seek nurturing and refuge in sex for sure, but then BML brings a lot of dark stuff into my bedroom.

I have Pluto in the 5th house as well, which (as I just discovered via whaaat's thread!) seems to bring intensity and betrayal to my romantic life. My Pluto is loosely (3 degrees) squared by Saturn too, and I DEFINITELY feel its impact. Above all I think Pluto in the 5th has brought the worst trouble to me romantically.

Other aspects that may affect things:
-My Moon tightly conjuncts my Venus (an out-of-sign conjunction).
-My Venus is also quintile Saturn.
-My Venus does have a loose (4 degree) trine to Jupiter.

I am almost always the pursuer!! Despite my Mars in Pisces.

It obviously has to do with venus, saturn, uranus, maybe jupiter and the 7th house...I wouldn't say the 5th, since this house is not about longtherm-relationships

But having venus square/opposition saturn, uranus or jupiter is a hard one, for some reason...I've seen it again and again, in fact everyone I know who got venus in harsh aspect with uranus, is very unstable regarding love, and most often they havn't ever been in a long relationship at all! Men seems to be worse than women regarding that...

Maybe not "unlucky", but there could be some issues.

Chiron/Saturn/Mars/Pluto/Saturn in 7th for pain
Uranus/Neptune/Moon/Mercury in 7th for instability

I have Saturn in the 7th, Venus opposite Saturn, Venus square Pluto, Venus square Chiron
- venus sextile jupiter + mercury conjunct venus

I have been unlucky in love...

I have 3 friends who have Saturn in the 7th hs.
They have been unlucky in love too.

We are all aged between 42 to 48. So plenty of experiences...

You could have considered me 'unlucky' in love since I did not have a relationship that lasted more than brief dating until I was nearly 40. But I consider myself more than lucky to find my mate who is my best friend and accepts me as I am.

It is not a matter of luck. I asked for the Universe to take me to someone who accepts and appreciates who I am. My challenge has been living up to my end of that.

I know what Venus opposite Neptune is like, even recently. But I also know many people want a fairy tale to fall into their laps and don't want to think that a serious adult relationship can be work. I was one of those people, but I've had to outgrow that.

It is not what is in your chart, but how you handle those energies that determine your success in anything, including relationships.

There is a mate for everyone who wants one. What you do with that relationship is another thing altogether.
