Mata Hari is quite popular now and it seems a lot of movies and books are in the works about her life, especially with all the talk of an upcoming world war. It's extremely interesting to have a look at her chart and think about the life that she lived. I read Paulo Coehlo's novel about her recently to understand her more.

I'm unable to post her chart right now but here is the birth info I have on her:
Aug 7, 1876 @ The Hague, Netherlands
Birthtime used was unavailable, so I used Noon giving her a 10th house sun for her extreme level of fame.

Her chart is kind of fascinating; I wonder what people think of the accuracy of her portrayal in history in relation to her chart. Do you think she was accurately portrayed or was she demonized like typical scapegoats of history?

UPDATE::

I agree she is a fascinating study. A few months ago I loaded her chart too. She has sime interesting asteroid placements too iir.

I think she likely was an easy scapegoat.

I'm very interested in seeing her chart.
I'm curious to see what her Venus looks like.

May I ask was she very famous when alive or did she become famous after death?

If she became famous after death then I would think sun would be somewhere else or paired with the lord of 8th maybe even in the 8th house? Maybe 8th lord in 10th house.

I haven't looked up her chart yet..so these are just random thoughts.

She was secret agent while at the same time she was a vry public and well known person - you can say she was an it girl while she was alive and today she is an icon.

I remembe reading a book on Coco Chanel and there being mentioned howw she also was suspected to be some kind of spie, double agent - that reminded me of Mata Hari

Another woman whom we should look at and compare because of similar life story is Stephanie von Hohenlohe - anothr woman who used her charms to become a socialite while she was also a spie !

A famous inspiration for the most famous spie on earth James Bond 007 was another socialite or btter yet playboy Dushko Popov

I am on my phone so I can't track thei charts at the moment, but if someone can it would be fun to compare

Her 10th lord is still ruled by leo...even though it's a late degree. Sun is in 9th house paired with 8th lord...8 lord could indicate

She was a spy, exotic dancer, & prostitute, but also a scapegoat.

House of death, decay, mental anguish, poison, crisis, & deadly fears (8th)

1st/6th house is also conjunct with 10th lord. 6th is disease, work condition, small animals & lesser cattle, death of friends, weakness & affliction.
1st house: is self.
5th house is also ruled by mars... 5th lord can show her using her sexuality...exotic dancer & prostitutes.

This all sits in 9th house... which is related to foreign lands... she seems to have mostly been out of her birth country most of her life.

10th house is still a fame house too...how we are known in the public eye.

It seems to all align to her career.

I'm using traditional house meaning... so I don't see 8th as sex.

Jupiter is in 1st house...Jupiter is tied to abundance/inflation, also an opportunistic planet, fortune, etc.

Jupiter only rules one house and that is 2nd house.

Looks like she depends on herself to make money. She makes money through her own means and could even say with her own body.

Did she die in a foreign country? 4th house is end of matter and 9th is far away places....also 4th house is home country.
7th house is foreign destination. 7th is in 8th. 9th is in 4th.

Anyway just some thoughts.

Appleberry, I think we used close times in our analysis. I'm uncertain of course with accuracy in details passed down in time.

-This is only my opinion --
Her Sun being  in detriment  makes her seem more  insecure in nature. Longing to have love yet not brave enough to shine in her best way. Mixing these energies in her natal,  I think she may have brooded when her attempts  to get attention  were left unnoticed. Stripping or dancing  was a method  to get that unattainable attention she hungered for.
her Scorp AC seems to bring her intensity and being drawn to more intense archetypes. Like a woman attracted to danger yet she herself is not dangerous or overly shady. Her chart shows an abundance  of both Leo (here look my way. I crave your attention, your eyes) and the other water she has is mostly  Pisc+Can. Until we delve with more in depth study, that is.  I think she was addicted  to attention. She may have  fallen in love with a spy of two. Her many Tau placements  I think weave together a bit more of the indulgent and beauty driven sides of her. She wanted a man or men to spoil her, feel captivated  by her beauty.

I am a Sco Asc sidereal and feel it. People think I have an aire of mystery. That's why I suppose. -I also have my Jupiter in Sco. I can honestly  say an outsider  might view me as a Mata Hari (Zelle) because intrigue was always where my head sent me. Some people watch it or read it, (in her day books might consume the time of lonely  ladies) others just want to  be close to it. Like dancing close  to a fire. It's  merely attraction. I can't  speak to her Leo side except  for my examination of those I've known. As I dive there, Ive known them to be passionate, child like, creative, they light up rooms. When they feel something they are happy over, they want the world to see it.
