In natal I have moon, mercury, and jupiter quincunx/inconjunct MC, I can say it is different with the conjunction.

In synastry, I tend to be in mars quincunx/inconjunct mars and seems attracting this pattern in all relationship. To be honest, it feels like we're completely from another planet on how we take/choose the actions. Need a lot of compromising. It is different with the conjunction.

I don't understand why some people consider it as the same as conjunction? Like venus quincunx/inconjunct sun and they say it is the same as conjunction?

Help me to understand.

It isn't. A quincunx is a negative aspect, whereas a conjunction is a positive aspect. A parallel is pretty much identical to a conjunction, whereas a quincunx is the counterpart of the semi sextile (like how if a planet is conjunct the North Node, it's opposite the South Node).

@kewf1988:

I forgot to put parallel too.

How it can be the same as the conjunction?

hearttreasure, they are not the same aspects, and I know of no astrologer who has made such an equivalencey.

Instead, it is that a planet, say in Libra, make a quincunx aspect to one in Pisces. Those planets, because they would be in low south declination, could also be in parallel aspect to each other.

This is not an equivalency or 'sameness' of aspects, but a relation of two planets or points. Depending on exactly where they are they can be making two different aspects at once, one in longitude (zodiac), one in declination (north/south).

@Kannon McAfee:

I've read somewhere in another forum, some called it the same/similar and I was wondering.. Especially in the synastry..

'Relation' I think I can understand. But if it feels like a conjunction, hmm, I'm pretty sure it is different.

How parallel can be called as a conjunction in synastry? Is it symbolize as (') in astro.com?

Parallels are not called conjunctions in synastry. Two planets that are conjunct are often also in parallel aspect, but 'conjunction' indicates an aspect in longitude (zodiac) and 'parallel' indicates an aspect in declination (north/south).

The standard symbol for parallel = ||, two parallel vertical lines.
