Let me say this before I start. If you don’t like my honesty, please, stop reading now(said like a meditation tape about operating heavy machinery). I think the close Mercury/Uranus squares is one of the very hardest aspects in the chart. Why is it so hard? I will try to answer that question.Mercury is the mind. It is a very sensitive spot for the person. One’s mind needs to be balanced or one will be in for a ‘world of hurting”. Balance allows for a wide spectrum of quircks. No one is “normal”. Everyone is a nut in his own way. Everyone is a weirdo in his own way. If one can get along well enough with others and one can keep the laws, one can live in “normal”society. Within that spectrum, we have the very balanced people to the very unbalanced people. How does the Mercury/Uranus square fit in here? First of all, the very close square is much more difficult than the wider square. The very close square would be exact to four degrees. The wider square would be five to ten degrees. When the square is very close, the native’s mind RACES. Uranus rules electricity. Think of being around a constant hum or a constant buzz. It can drive one crazy. That is the constant nature of the close square. The person is brilliant. His brilliance is “out of the box”, such as that of a brilliant inventor. However, the price he pays is not worth it, in my opinion. When the square is further apart, the naive retains the brilliance, but the buzzing mind is diminished. It is still there, but it does not have the same intensity. If I had to try to make this really practical, I would point us to times when our mind won’t stop, for whatever reason. Perhaps, someone has hurt us or betrayed us and we replay it over and over. Perhaps, we are afraid of an upcoming event and we think, think, think and think about it. Perhaps, we have met an amazing person and we can’t stop thinking about him/her.In these instances, our mind will not shut down. We can’t help it. This is how I would describe the nature of this square. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Especially with the octave equation thrown in. Maybe like a mind constantly going around a loop, and unable to bring it to the higher level of the spiral. IP: Logged |

mercury/uranus square simply put: ADHDI have it, it's like turning on the radio while a hundred different frequencies are playing together, hard to focus on just one...and yes, this is how my mind is ALL the time...it never stops the good side is, learning things fast and never running out of ideas I'm thankful for this aspect in my chart, I've gotten a LOT of use out of it! but if you don't know how to handle an ADHD person, yep, you'd better leave them alone IP: Logged |

always listened to music in class during university years, those professors just talk too muchI wear ear plugs often, especially since last year when uranus has been on my natal mercury occasional deafness is a bliss..and I dislike listening to people talk (lose focus under 10 seconds) unless they have a nice, calm voice (taurus mercury) IP: Logged |

Well, I would choose brilliance over "normal", yes there is a chance of going mad, but a 30 years of life at full throttle is more worth living than a 100 years of balanced boredom.IP: Logged |

Think Robin Williams had this, or something akin. IP: Logged |

I have Mercury square Uranus in my chart. The orb is 4 degrees. While I have my fair share of hard experiences, this aspect never stood out as being very difficult for me. In fact, I'm still kind of confused. It could be the phrasing or the kind of comparison used, but it's more likely I just don't relate to the description even though the aspect is supposedly close enough to count. Are there any placements/aspects that would balance out the negative side of this square? I feel like I'm never able to make my mind shut up, but it's not necessarily a negative experience. I'm just naturally an active thinker. In fact, if I have nothing to think about, I end up getting bored and that's when the trouble comes. Edit: I've experienced cases where I couldn't stop thinking about something, but this isn't an on-going constant. I get breaks, and based on what I've read in this thread, this aspect tends to drive people nuts. Well, I'm waiting to go nuts then. :P IP: Logged |
