How do planets that square others affect someone's natal chart?

For instance, how would a Moon square Neptune person be different than a Moon conjunct Neptune or Moon trine Neptune? Or even how would they be different than a Pisces Moon?

I would look to find a common theme rather than stark differences.

Moon-Neptune aspects tend to focus on a hazy view of the domestic life.

Perhaps the individual over-identified with the mother(moon) so much so that they idolized her?

Maybe the mother was victimised or was the underdog in the domestic setting?

Maybe the home was one where spirituality/religious beliefs played a huge part?

Perhaps the mother was psychic or a clairvoyant? Or she could read energy fields?

This could also suggest the mother not being present/being unable to take care of the child.

There are so many variations of this position. The list is not exhaustive.

What can be inferred from this is that the home life or early childhood is filled with both magical and tragic memories that the individual can choose to magnify(1st instance) or supress because of being too painful(2nd instance).

My mom has the opposition and she was very close to my late gran. She grew up poor but i think she also may have embellished some of the stories she tells us as i doubt very much that things were as she says

Its hard to tell differences as often these people are drawn to each other

Thanks Aries.

I have a Pisces moon. My grandad and ex bf both had a very tight Mercury square Neptune so I'm wondering the commonality between them.

I know Pisces moons and moon-Neptunes have addictive personalities. While I do not, my grandad and ex struggled with alcohol.

I didn't realize there was a mother theme to it.
I think my grandad loved his mom very much but there was something that happened with their family relationship. Either his parents got a divorce and he didn't see her as much or something along those lines. And he was very upset about it.
With my ex, he was very much a mommas boy. I think he was overly dependent on her.
