which house is it?

I've read that vedic uses the 3rd and and the 4th.

I have this strange relationship with fathers of men I've dated. most of them were from families with an absent father and the ones who had a normal relationship with their father and got along well with them, I didn't like their father and felt very jealous toward them!

is that because I have pluto in 4th? it's exactly opposite sun in 10th

thanx nine, I think it's true

for the longest amount of time i've been wondering why I feel like this toward the idea of "father-in-law"..that pluto in 4th might be the culprit

what about the house of mother-in-law?

My ex-husband dad is a Pisces and mom a Scorpio.

Scorpio rules my 2cond house and Pisces my 7th. Although you would think it was the other way around if you met them. He seems like the brooding type and his mom is very nice and caring.

It depends on the particular natal chart and whether it is diurnal or nocturnal (sun above or below horizon). But in either case father-in-law is seen in 4th or 10th house.

my sun is in the 10th, I think it's considered above the horizon?

what about mother-in-law? which house do you think that is?

Looking at my book here...
{Alan Oken, Houses in the Horoscope}

H10 ... The partner's mother and family.

H9 ... Brothers-/sisters-In-Law

___________

H1 ... Paternal aunts/uncles
H1 ... Maternal grandFather
H1 ... Paternal grandmother

H3 ... siblings (bro or sis) (esp. the eldest of, first-one)

H4 ... Family background 'in general';
H4 ... "parental influence" in particular.

H6 ... Maternal aunts and uncles.

H7 ... Partners;
H7 ... Also is the Mother's family;
H7 ... (especially, 'maternal' grandmother)

H10 ... The father and all authority figures

H11 ... Partners/spouses of "one's children"
meaning e.g. <7th=Partners; from 5th=children>

Other examples...........

For sister's husband use H9--
7th=partner from the 3rd=sister/siblings>
Count 7 houses from 3rdHouse(asH1)

Your grandchildren, use H9--
9th House = H5 (children; asH1) counting 5 more -- thus, 5th (children) from the 5th---
(The Children's children)

Still new at this!!! Just beginner-Learner here!

ADD---
I like info on Vedic--
however, I've heard it said that they have their own system-interpretations, and it's to be regarded as 'separate' from the Westerns?

But I DO like considering their descriptions.
Adds depth to meanings.

e.g. H4 Vedic is supposed to be 'how you feel'... your emotions?

Vedic systems DO NOT include the outer three-- Uranus, Neptune, Pluto?

In WESTERN this is the Cancer natural house, ruled natural Moon.

You might want to check? Vedic/sidereal planets MAY be lodging in a different House, than with western astrology?

hahaha... It's ALLLLL just Fascinating!

The houses for in-laws are derivative. Partner = 7th, 4th and 10th from that mean essentially the parental in-laws are seen in the reverse houses of your own parents in your natal chart. So with a diurnal chart, that means your father is seen not in the 10th, but in your 4th natal house, mother in 10th. Reverse that for your father-in-law = 10th, mother-in-law = 4th.

Don't be surprised if this does not seem to line up with what you know about them. A large percentage of natal charts are not accurate by degree or even sign when cast according to the recorded official birth time. That throws off the houses in many charts.
