I would like to learn more about this aspect in natal chart. Do you have this or do you know anyone with this aspect?

Which signs and houses?
What do these people have in common?
Do they find it difficult to make choices in life, not knowing what to trust: mind or heart?
Are they irrational people?
Logical or illogical thinking?
Do you find the Moon then to take on an airy quality, be more like Gemini Moon maybe?

In a man's chart Moon is the kind of woman he's naturally drawn to. With Moon opposite Mercury, apart from Mercurial person, how else can this woman be described based on this aspect?

I have it, I am ENFP. My heart ultimately decides.

I am definitely a logical thinker though, very analytical, self reflection is a daily thing I do regularly. I am always in my head thinking, analyzing but I am always feeling too.

I have mercury in virgo with moon in pisces in the 4th house. I connect with others at a deep level for a living and exercise a lot of compassion for a living, my job also requires a lot of thinking and analyzing but just as much feeling and connecting.

I am a counselor, mercury rules my 8th house and moon trines my AC in scorpio.

Hey. I have Moon in Cancer opposite Mercury in Cap. Everything that Hypatia 238 said is true for me too.

The opposition always calls for balance between two extremes. In my case Moon in 3rd conjuncti Ic and.Mercury in 9th conjunct 10th.

Moon in Gemini folks always come across more superficially relatable than similar to me. In my case, changes in the external environment or even perceived changes, influence my emotional state.

Mercury on Moon will always try to define what they are thinking. So in relationships they often want their partner to be a soundboard for much of their thoughts.

Anytime they read something or hear something which they believe "profound", it makes them more intimately connected to their thoughts. And thus able to eventually "feel"(Moon).

So yes, they may cry because of being hurt. But when they talk(Mercury) about their feelings(Moon). They come to understand the "why it hurts so bad" and then they connect to the emotion of that experience etc.

In most people i know, Mercury on Moon results in them either being preoccupied with words to describe the exact feeling. Or being "data collectors"(extensive short distance travellers) in order to transfer that feeling to an experience had.

Either way, Mercury gets in the way of the full impact of really FEELING. They are always learning(Merc) to feel(Moon).

I dont know if is bc merc rules my 8H and moon is in my 4H and I have scorpio rising or bc my moon opposite merc square my nodes but I am a deep feeler and if anything I use my mind to help me stay more detached by seeking understanding of why this person is been hurtful for example. I still feel deeply hurt but am able to let it go quickly compare to others. Maybe due to the mutable nature of it too. My partner has the trine between merc in scorpio and moon in cancer and he does not let go easily, he is also very sweet and shows love through service like doing things for me like cooking and cleaning, getting me something downstairs etc (sun in libra in the 6H and moon in cancer). He feels anger deeply but when not angry he seems very cerebral. He has anger issues but I dont, yet I am the one with the opposition but that is why you have to look at the whole chart. He has Mars conjunct Uranus on the DC trine Nessus and sesquiquadrate his moon.

Feeling deeply comes naturally to me, it always has, I have never had to teach myself to feel, that is not my case at all. I use my mind to understand people's motives, why we feel the way we do, our shadow side and to help me through hard emotional times. Connecting to my mind and using my thinking the right way helps with emotional regulation. Feeling deeply comes naturally but my mind helps me sort my emotions and gain valuable insight or understand those emotions and I help others do the same for a living, mercury rules my 8H and falls in the 10H after all. I help people work through emotional issues and with attachment issues. Being there for others and connecting with others is my purpose in life. Further mars rules my 6H and conjuncts venus and the MC, I feel my job is about loving others and accepting others as they are while helping them gain understanding that helps with integration and healing and teaching them ways to manage their emotions better.

Example:

Moon trine Mercury: "let me feel what I feel."
He has been stuck in this negativity for the past few weeks and letting it out on me and always complaining about every little thing he gets a chance to complaint about, its not chronic there are nice times too but consistent enough to be a problem. I have been patient and letting him feel what he feels but am reaching the point that I have to start setting boundaries.

Moon opposite Mercury: I am noticing an unhealthy pattern been develop that is not helping him get out of his bad mood and is also affecting me since we live together. For example, yesterday he complained about how the sound system keeps turning off automatically (its designed that way), yet another little thing he complained about that day. I tell him well the sound sounds good why not focus on the positive, you now have a nice sound system and it sounds good. It has a remote which is cool so its easy to turn on but he just keeps getting irritated about this "issue." He snaps and tells me, "Don't tell me how to feel." I get that but he doesn't realize I have been letting him feel what he feels and be moody for a few weeks now and now I have to bring this to his awareness and set boundaries. Yesterday I also told him at some point nicely and calmly, can you make an effort not to criticize me every chance you get?. After I said that I noticed he got better. He keeps trying to have a nice time but he is just more irritable than usual, mars is transiting my 7H right now. I wonder if that is playing a role since that means it is transiting his 1H!!!!! haha it must be.

Finding that balance of letting him feel what he feels while staying emotionally regulated myself and calm while also setting boundaries and helping him gain awareness and transition out of the place he is stuck in.

Ok this thread really helped me sort things out and gain understanding into what has been happening lately with us. I would imagine Mars in the 1H can increase irritability specially under the context of someone who is prone to irritability. I am surprised I am not super irritable since today Mars is conjuncting my chiron in the 7H. I was feeling super irritable during a transit involving Mars square Chiron over a year ago.

Right, so this aspect is not about being the irrational, quite the opposite actually! Logical thinking. Mercury Moon is cerebral and will try to make sense of how they feel and to understand why. Please do correct me if I understood it wrong Hypatia and Aries23Degrees. So someone with trine is in harmony with how they feel. They won't question themselves. Their mind accepts their feelings and emotions. The person with opposition will question everything. Hmmm..interesting!

Mercury in Virgo in 10H, rules 8H and 11H?, Moon in Pisces in 4H, rules 9H?

logical, grounded, deep, socially oriented, critical thinking
versus
sensitive, private, caring, empathic, philanthropic and philosophical nature

I have this in my head. You can work in very difficult jobs where kindness, care and self-devotion (because it's all the right thing to do - 9H) is what you can offer but your Mercury will stop you from giving too much and not being taken advantage of by people or circumstances. I imagine medics at war locations, those who see a lot of blood, gore, pain and suffering but remain stoic, do their job and don't panic. That's the type. But you're a counselor! and a good one, I guess.

You know, I find Mars transits really..what's the word here )) active?? lol ok, wrong word I know, but they are very much felt, more so than other planet transits. Maybe it's because Mars is such a masculine, active planet. Whatever house it transits becomes active. I really hated when Mars transited my 12H. I connected the dots so quickly because the effect of this transit was something totally unusual for me. I became so suspicious, I could not trust anyone. People close to me suddenly were perceived as enemies by me. And none of it was true, it was just a false perception. 12H..what can I say.

Aries23Degrees,

This is a really good explanation! Thank you. Which houses are Moon and Mercury in? I'm digging deep. And how would you describe your Mercury in Cap? Does this placements combination make it difficult for you to express yourself? Cancer Moon - deep feeler, a fountain on emotions not yet turned on. And Capricorn Mercury - a man (woman) of few words. A water type person for a partner who can understand you without too much talk..turn that fountain on!

Can anyone help me figure out Scorpio Moon (7H) opposite Taurus Mercury (1H)? Taurus Mercury leaves me short of forming my own idea because I don't understand this Mercury well..

I am not stoic, I am known for been very compassionate and I cry with my clients at times bc I truly feel their pain and my emotions show in my face which makes it very easy to connect with my clients.I am incredibly kind to my clients and shower them with love and acceptance, obviously I connect more with some more than others and I am not a good fit for everyone, no therapist is. I can feel many different emotions in a day but I am also very analytical and logical, I am a very deep thinker and a deep feeler too, for the love of god I have moon in pisces in the 4H in the duad and decan of scorpio trine AC in scorpio. That is how moon opposite mercury looks like for me. I hope that is clear, its hard to isolate an aspect, you have to keep in mind the whole chart.

Mercury in Virgo ruling 8H parallel Pluto= deep thinker and analytical

Moon in Pisces in the 4H trine AC in scorpio=deep feeler but if I also add that moon rules my 9H=restlessness, moving away from place of origin, conservative values politically with some liberal inclinations bc of moon in pisces, emotional about political and world issues resulting in a need to retreat from it periodically but passionate about world issues and political values. So sometimes I need to retreat from world issues bc it affects too much and engaging with my mind puts me back into it after I retreat for a while.

Am I good therapy? I have no idea but I love what I do and many clients leave good feedback and send me a lot of referrals. I have a long history of also receiving tokens of appreciation from clients, my last gift was flowers so I GUESS, lord and behold, I must be doing something right. Do i make a difference all the time? I doubt it, i am thinking probably 50% of the time yes.

I will say this and hopefully this helps. Since I have mercury opposite moon in mutable signs especially when you consider that it involves Pisces which goes with the flow it is easier for me to access mercury when I am in moon mode and access moon when I am mercury mode, I can flow back and forth from one and the other so it makes it a lot easier for me to integrate the energies between this opposition.

Now your opposition is fixed so I am making a guess that perhaps is harder for you to integrate the energies from this opposition and that you perhaps identify more with one side of the opposition than the other, on a positive note maybe you are less moody bc you don't flow back and forth from the opposition. My last theory is that this opposition is why your screen name is capriciouscapricorn, that opposition in fixed signs can make someone capricious since capriciousness involves traits like stubbornness and difficulty letting go, I want what I want.

Also I am very forgiving, I think bc my opposition is mutable, I am thinking with yours since is fixed you hold grudges maybe..

I like your analysis up the stoic part and me working with blood lol...

It just popped in my mind that 9H rules higher learning, getting a higher education and counseling requires a master's degree which I had to obtain and its a profession all about kindness and caring but also requires analytical skills. So moon in the 4H in pisces ruling the 9H also fits with counseling: obtaining a higher degree for a profession focused around caring for others, helping others and exploring emotions (4H meets Pisces and moon ruling 9H).

Anyhoo my partner's behavior totally shifted and we had a lovely peaceful weekend Saturday and Sunday so this worked: Finding that balance of letting him feel what he feels while staying emotionally regulated myself and calm while also setting boundaries and helping him gain awareness and transition out of the place he is stuck in.

His mood is good now.

My Mercury is in Cap....yes. But arcs to conjunct the 10th-so I like to prepare what i want to say. As if i will be speaking at a press conference.

My Merc in Cap is not so much about what is being said but rather the "how" it is said and whether or not it is worth saying etc. More quality than quantity really.

Moon in Cancer conjunct the Ic has many fears and woes. But its Mercury in Cap that is in constant dialogue with it to sort the paranoia from legitimate concerns.

I worry about safety, security, the future, feeling bonded to people a lot. And I do think that my conversations are mostly about family/career concerns( classic Cancer/Cap mix)

I am with someone with whom my Cancer/Cap mix forms a trine/sextile to his Sun. Whilst their Moon Sag/Merc Aqua sextile mix forms a conjunction/sextile aspect to my Sun.

There is very little in feelings/emotions that we can hide from each other. And sometimes we can go on and talk for hours on end about how we feel.

So the mutual Merc/Moon natal mirror connection is very beneficial.

Hypatia,

I think what I did when having a go at your opposition analysis was describe it as if it's a trine, not an opposition, which was wrong. In other words, for some reason I imagined a harmonious blend of your Virgo Mercury and Cancer Moon. But what I drew from your 2nd explanation is that it doesn't work like that. Planets take turns to express themselves, each pulling the blanket their way, you alternate between Mercury and Moon. But you know what..I think that with time it's quite possible to sort of turn your opposition into a trine, not literally of course but that's what squares and oppositions are about - challenge! Make the opposites work together. You transcend yourself one day and what you for a long time thought was a problem in your chart you see now as a gift.

Scorpio Taurus opposition I was asking about is not mine. I actually have no Moon Mercury aspect. Is that why I want to know more about it? Hmm.. maybe My nickname is because of Moon Venus and Mars in 5H squared by Saturn. That makes me capricious, drama drama demands.

^^ drama drama demands lol

Yes I was thinking that it wasn't you bc I was like she cannot have Mer in Taurus if she is a Capricorn but I was like Maybe she has cap rising and not sun in cap like I thought lol.

Yes I think my opposition is a gift but its also part of why I have mood swings. However in this opposition lies the key to managing my mood swings better too, accessing my mer in virgo to ground me and practice observing without judgement and detachment.

My husband has the trine and I think managing his mood comes more naturally to him till he gets angry but I blame his mars conjunct uranus sesquisquare moon for that. I do feel it is easier for him to manage his moods overall though more naturally than me until Mars and Uranus come along! He is a Taurus riser too which helps. I overthink things, he doesn't but bc I analyze and "overthink" you can say that I am a lot more self-aware than he is too so his trine is a true blessing but even my opposition has its gifts .

I feel being around him usually helps me be more balanced that is one of the things that attracted me a lot about him. His sun libra with that moon trine mer and taurus rising I feel give him an ability to stay emotionally stable overall but when he does have mood swings is not pretty.

Whoa..Mars conjunct Uranus. Better not wake the beast in him! Sorry, I'm going off topic now. Everything is interesting. This conjunction he has, do you trigger it somehow? Anything of yours touching it? There's this guy I like who has Mars Pluto square. I wonder how it works in synastry. Surely the right partner can help a man with Mars Uranus conjunction or a man with Mars Pluto square or whatever else worrisome they have in their chart. Let's say your Saturn square that Mars, or conjunct it. He will be more calm with you, you will not trigger anger outbursts in him. You're like a good influence. But of course it can be argued that Saturn there can do the opposite. Suppress suppress suppress the partner and then..the worst possible outburst happens because he can't stomach the Saturn partner anymore. This reminds me of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. He's got Mars Uranus conjunction. Thinking maybe she's triggered it with something in her chart. Oh, I don't mean it's her fault he beat her, NO! )) Just saying that people can be a good or bad influence on each other and that can be seen in their synastry.

yes I see your point, We have Venus conjunct Venus which squares his Mars conjunct Uranus. My AC also conjuncts his Mars-Uranus. My moon trines his Mars-Uranus too.

Do you think that is enough to trigger him?

WE have come a long way though and I feel based on how I got him to shift this weekend that we will make even more progress and continue growing as a couple. Our fights many years ago were very bad.

I have it.

Mercury 11H-Moon 5H

I am a logical thinker. Can be cold and calculating.
I switch between heart/mind. Can be indecisive and very mutable.
For me, that first little gut feelings has always proven correct. In hindsight of course..

No! I don't think you trigger it, meaning bring out the worst of that conjunction. This is good. All the soft feminine planets come in touch with his conjunction. Your Asc likes it and finds his electric energy sexy. Your Moon is comfortable with it. Both Asc and Moon are supportive of his self-expression so this is especially good for him. But your Venus square his Mars/Uranus will come out and say 'I don't like it' need some peace and harmony too sometimes. But Venus is 50% irritated by conjunction and 50% happy (soothed by his Venus, what comforts and helps you relax will help him just as well). Maybe you will put up with a lot of his tantrums but once in a while will stamp your foot down and say 'hey, do you want to stop now? Enough. I want some stability, peace and quiet sometimes..how bout that?' Don't know..I like it all best possible configuration in regards to his Mars Uranus conjunction from your side. The whole thing is stressful for you. For him it's bliss

I have this with the guy I like. He's got Mars Pluto square. My Venus is on his Mars. My translation. 1) Intense sexual attraction (Venus Mars) and jealousy (his Pluto to my Venus) but his anger/aggression is curbed because soft planet Venus channels this Mars Pluto square aggression into sexual chemistry and jealousy. Transformed form of anger. Again,,you can look at it differently. 2) Would his jealousy make him violently angry? Hmmm.. I like 1) but 2) is more likely. We are not a couple so I don't know how it works. Just guessing.

Charlie )) Cardinal signs, fixed houses yet you describe yourself very mutable.

Would mood swings, depression have anything to do with this aspect?

Would mood swings, depression have anything to do with this aspect?

Don't really have mood swings but what I do have is a hard time choosing whether to listen to my heart or brain UNLESS the decision making involves something urgent or someting concerning work at which point I am super logical and very straight forward. And also very "fixed".

If I'm left on my own too much I could probably daydream my life away. I DO have a pretty hefty Virgo stellium (incl asc) 12H square Neptune in my progressed chart which I think colors me a tad "mercurial".

Everything I do is mercurial! I can change everything on a split second and that includes how I dress, how I wear my hair, what I eat, what I like and what I don't like, what I work with and on it goes. My mom, who is super fixed, hates that about me

I am also not depressed.
