It depends.Edited out So something to ask yourself is does this person identify more with the Saturn or Uranus manifestation of Aquarius and what aspects does their moon make? Also look at the sun since it represents the father and the 4H, 10H and its rulers. IP: Logged |

My Father has moon in Aquarius. So far, he is the best Dad that I could ever ask for. It may take some time, but he is a very caring Father and will always be there for you even when no one is loving you. He will always try to make you feel SAFE and to not worry about anything because he is there. I don't realize about the detachment as I kind of like some space too. He let me be me and he sees nothing is wrong with it, he is my biggest supporter I guess. IP: Logged |

I don't think so, my mother has an Aqua Moon, I don't see her as detached (maybe in my early childhood she didn't quite know how to deal with me, but she did try her best) however, her mother was (and still is) quite detached...IP: Logged |

In my case I can only answer based on fur babies. I've never been detached with them. In my head sometimes but with them it's more telepathic tbh. They would get my attention easily. Now true two legged, furless children, I can't speak to that. I've never been a parent in that sense. I do know Princes Di was a moon Aqua and she was reported to be a loving mother.IP: Logged |

My son has moon in Aquarius conjunct uranus. I don't think it can get more aquarian that that for the moon. I understand him quite well, always there for him if he needs me. As a child he could be clingy a little bit more than most for a boy but I never saw it as an issue. We have a really good bond that I know of, he says he sees me as a little eccentric.I worry sometimes because my chiron is in the same sign as his sun in Taurus. Aquarious does rule my 5th house and my sun is trine my uranus. Last night he gave me the best complement I think I have ever heard him say. He said : mom your a really good person. I told him I try son and he said: you really are mom, thats how I learned how to be a good person was threw you. I almost started to cry but I held it back. IP: Logged |

Moon in Aqua can be detached. They may want to connect with their kids more intellectualy and usually can't wait for their kids to learn to speak. Most times however, Moon in Aqua tends to befriend their children and treat them as equals. The "parental" role is not assumed in the conventional "I am older and therefore the authority" etc. This can also be true of Moon Gemini. They may even befriend their kid's friends and be known as a "cool" Mom. IP: Logged |

So I guess that means I wouldn't make a good mother then.

I would think that would depend on the moon sign of the kid. Sag moon, and perhaps any air moon, would appreciate it while Scorpio or Cancer moon would not. And you're not a slave to the sky (if you were then there would be no point in asking anything here, just go with the flow as it's inevitable anyway, and children would grow up according to the stars even if they were raised by wolves). If you know someone has a moon that craves close emotional attachment then you can put more effort into it. I've done it and it seems to work out good most of the time (of course I see to it that my own needs are also met, which includes some space). If you're willing to work at it then you can be a good mother, generally speaking. Linda Goodman has advice on how to raise children according to their sun sign (and other placements) to bring out the best of their astrological energy while helping them to overcome the more negative aspects. But if you don't want to be a mother, then don't be. Becoming a mother simply because it's expected of you is something all too many bad mothers do (and often blame the kids when they have themselves to blame). Nurture that Aquarius moon of yours to resist the peer pressure that pressures you to make a decision that is not right for you. IP: Logged |
