Topic: Natal Sun square natal moon - mom tries to dominate you?

I have this in my natal chart, and one pattern I'm noticing is about my mom: everytime I try to access my Sun (Scorpio), she comes and makes the drama (my Moon is in Leo). She cries a lot, tries to make me down everytime too, telling me that I'm her daugther, and I need to agree with EVERYTHING she does and wants. This is very annoying...What is your opinion about this square? IP: Logged |

Sun-Moon aspects can make one self centred. The emotional mind(Moon) is constantly conversing with the self(Sun). This has a feel of Cancer but on steroids.So you can be sure that emotions(Moon) strongly affect self perception(Sun). And we can add mental health as well as intimate relationships also factoring in The square suggests challenges in remaining objective. As you tend to make everything about you and this makes it difficult for others to reason with you without you thinking that its a personal affront or even anticipating a physical threat. Now with two fixed signs involved in the square, the result is the conviction of ones own point of view to the point of inflexibility/stubbornness What aspects does your Moon make? I feel like you are projecting 😕

I felt my mom did try to dominate me, I felt she wanted to breath for me and shape me into her, it felt like an enmeshed relationship but I resisted it and rebelled. I had the strong personality to do this bc of my leo and scorpio influence. She was pushy, controlling and I felt overprotective (she has venus opposite pluto in fixed signs) with sun in cap.I have moon in pisces opposite sun which both square neptune in sag, she is very religious and till this day is trying to still control and push religion unto to me sending me religious stuff via Whatsup even though I am in Colorado and she is in Florida. I remember her making me feel guilty a lot and I always felt since very little she was manipulative. Growing up my relationship with her was this tug of war and felt tense and I wanted to free myself from it. In spite of this I do love her and always have and I am grateful for her truly for a lot of things but its definitely an emotionally complex relationship. IP: Logged |

My partner has moon square sun and he cut off his mother, he never felt accepted by her the way he was and like he could not be himself and he really resented that among other things, he didn't feel free to be him around her and accepted by her.I think is safe to say that moon in hard aspect to sun can represent power struggles with mother who is trying to shape the identity of her child but the individual is resisting and feels stress and tension around mother and not fully accepted or supported by mother in his or her identity development. Mother is trying to control the person's development, the sun perceives it that way and is trying to fight for his or her emancipation and right to be who they are (e.g.ego expression). IP: Logged |

I have an exact sun-moon square. My sun is conjunct my mum's sun, my moon is conjunct my sister's sun. Oh we're all fixed, my sun taurus and moon Leo.I love her lots but feel challenged and irritated by her. I always secretly resent the fact that, for example, we always share birthday celebrations, because I do feel selfishly stifled by it. We also have Venus conjunct Venus, but we're very different characters in some ways. One extreme reaction I have is when she makes a fuss over getting emotional like when she sees live music. Or if she shares a video and says 'thats so powerful' - I hate the feeling that she's imposing her opinions onto others. Don't get me wrong, I'm a complete hypocrite. I am opinionated. I am passionate. One of my huge fears is that I force my view on others in a way that she makes me feel, if that makes sense. I do agree about being self-centred - not in a centre of attention way but in a 'this must be my fault' way - and I am a total and utter overthinker. Do I feel restricted by my mum? Maybe not, but I do feel a bit overshadowed at times. This is probably why I moved 150 miles away - to create my own space. I love her dearly, she's kind, generous and cares for all her children (and other people's!) - but I do find her a bit 'worthy' at times. It's difficult. IP: Logged |

I never expected such thing from this aspect but my friend has a very problematic relationship with her mother,the woman criticize every breathe she takes and she have on natal:moon in libra/sun in cancer

Moon square Sun itself does not indicate dominance by the mother. It does indicate pronounced energies that can be very creative, engaged, heightened above what most feel. The principles of feminine (Moon) and masculine (Sun) are both pressing hard for full expression. In theory this can mean strong parental influences that may not seem to work in harmony. My birth chart has Moon trine Sun. So I don't have your experience, but more a internal balancing point of ease between masculine/feminine. ------------------
