I really dislike my ascendant energy in my chart. I'm a Libra ascendant 23° which normally would be nice, except it makes nothing but squares (and one trine) in my chart. I hate first impressions because I feel like I always come off differently than who I really am, and it makes going out and meeting people a train wreck. People always get the wrong impression of me, and finding people that I can truly connect with is difficult because of how I come off. I want so badly to be approved of, liked, and wanted, that I can sometimes hide my true self in s situations where I want to fit in. I don't even get the conventional beauty from the sign because of the aspects messing with it, and I've never felt beautiful, in fact I have really bad self esteem issues with my looks. My aspects: Ascendant square Sun (7) Ascendant square Moon (7) Ascendant trine Venus (3) Ascendant square Mars (5) Ascendant square Uranus (5) Ascendant square Neptune (1) Does anyone have any advice for me with dealing my ascendant? Do you think the aspects are what is blocking the conventional beauty of being a Libra riser? Also, what are you experiences with any of the aspects or a poorly aspected ascendant? IP: Logged |

With Libra Ascendant trine Venus, you should be a very beautiful person. I don't really count squares to the AC because they would be more like a conjunction to your MC or IC.IP: Logged |

I don't have as many squares to my asc. Just a tight square to my Saturn. But I can relate to most of what you're feeling. I don't know how to help in terms of astrology; how to harness the positives of those aspects. Hopefully others will be able to. But the best advice I can give, that I try to use as often as possible, is to be authentic as much as possible. People would then have a chance to connect with the real you; you'd be able to connect with the right people. You know who the real you is, so let that come out. Hope this helps. ------------------ For want of a penny, the ship was lost. IP: Logged |

Accept it, whatever it is. You chose it. quote:

No, that is a stereotype. The way we look comes mostly from parentage (genetics). Look at enough genuine Libra risers and you'll see there is no 'convention' of beauty with all of them. quote:

It is important first to know that those are indeed your aspects. Go through each one and look for how it does or does not show -- by principle of the planet itself. Look for the good in each one -- at least in potential. The squares are the strongest aspects. Look at those first and see with those in tightest aspect if they indeed seem to be dominant in how you function as a person (from a subtle mental/spiritual perspective). Second, if you consider squares 'bad' and make for a poorly aspected Asc, what person could expect a 'good' chart? We accept the good with the bad, but just like our idea of 'perfect' is imperfect, so our notions of 'good' and 'bad' are often irrelevant. You're using astrology here to reinforce a low self-esteem. It is of no use then. It is only of use when you find a way to use it to bring insight and elevate your consciousness over low self-worth in a comparative social sense. You are beautiful. I have said it, thus it is so. Say that to yourself and don't get your self-image from a mirror. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Expert Rectification Rising Sign Descriptions ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |

@Kannon McAfee That's why I'm asking for advice, I'm really trying to find the good in those squares. I've looked at them all, but I get really overwhelmed by their combined interpretations. I can see how they intertwine, but I am not sure how to put a positive spin on them and handle them as a whole.I don't consider an ascendant with squares a bad ascendant, I just dislike mine and consider mine "bad" imo because of how much relentless struggle I've had with it (and not being able to figure out how to rise above said struggle). This wasn't me trying to use astrology to reinforce low self-esteem, this was me trying to use astrology for a higher knowledge and awareness of how to harness/address this energy for the positive. Plenty of people say I'm beautiful, and I know I have nice features, but I just can't bring myself to feel beautiful. So I think you are definitely right. I need to practice positive self talk, and reclaiming my self esteem. IP: Logged |

People say I'm beautiful all the time, but I personally don't feel very beautiful, my best friend says I'm an ugly duckling turned swan. I think that may be due to the squares, and my moon's aspects. IP: Logged |

I've definitely tried that, but when I try to express my genuine opinions I come off as "harsh" and brash probably due to my Mars square Ascendant. I've read advice on how to deal with each of the aspects, but as a whole they are so hard to deal with and balance.

Asc square Neptune Asc square MoonAsc square Moon/Nep both suggest sensitivity and susceptibility to other people's feelings and opinions of you. Both Nep and Moon are impressionable. The Moon especially can wax and wane-taking our emotions back and forth. So Neptune has you look at yourself and not really "see" wholly. Mostly projections of others-Good/bad. The Moon will add an emotional state i.e tge worse you feel, the more "ugly" you think you are etc. My best advice would be to gravitate to the kind of person you would like to be internally and live in that world unrelentingly. Both Moon and Nep have powerful imaginations. And when combined, can create an inner world that is as ugly as you want it to be or as beautiful as you want it to be. Beauty is inside/out and not outside/in. So it matters not if you fit into other people's ideas of what "beauty" is, if you don't believe it internally. You will resist, deny and downplay the compliments they give you. The most beautiful things imo are authenticity(too many people are walking around as copied versions of others), kindness and a fun-loving spirit(childlike enthusiasm never gets tired or old) One can manipulate looks through gym, clothes one wears and surgical procedures. But if you are not happy with yourself internally, preoccupation with your external self will become an overwhelming obsession. "As within so it is without" IP: Logged |

Oh I so get you! The same happens to me as well. Thing is that depending on the person, I either tell them to get over it - I have a right to express myself too - or I try to be nicer but still expressing the same idea. I have mercury in the 1st opposite pluto (I think my moon square mars has influence too), so I am harsh sometimes. ------------------ For want of a penny, the ship was lost. IP: Logged |

How well I understand, I have ASC squared by Sun and Uranus. It definitely sucks. What has helped is relocation. ASC from weepy Pisces has moved to Aquarius is no longer squared by Sun and Uranus. Those literally the only squares I have in my chart so very hard to cope with them. IP: Logged | |
