I'm curious about the effect of Saturn contacts in a natal chart with Neptune or with neptunian placements, like planets in pisces.Example. I have venus in pisces sextile saturn in capricorn. Would Saturn in this case contain the neptunian, escapists and/or overly idealistic tendencies of my venus?
Yes, Saturn structures, helps apply energies in practical constructive ways.

Would having this aspect make me more down to earth when it comes to Venus stuff?
Yes, to a degree, but it does not remove Venus from Pisces, does it?
Saturn in Cap + Venus in Pisces is a good pairing.

What about other natal Saturn-Neptune contacts, like Neptune in capricorn, Saturn in the 12th, Neptune in the 10th, Capricorn placements in the 12th...affinities like that.
Saturn-Neptune aspects, especially these conjunctions and parallels many people have, are difficult to understand. They can go one of two ways. If the desire for tangibility and certainty is too strong in the person's mindset, the Saturnine energies may seem to block the imagination of Neptune. However, the outermost planet always exerts itself for the purpose of our trans-personal development.
So while our personalities want what is tangible, definite, a goal, something clear-cut, that is not what Neptune deals in. Neptune deals in our relation to what is invisible and of elevated, divine beauty (higher octave of Venus).
So eventually these Neptune-Saturn aspects are about a growth of creative and spiritual influence being structured, given tangible form for sharing with the world. Such persons can seem genius, coming up with solutions to problems others cannot imagine (similar to Uranus).
Once inspiration, imagination can lead the way and find purpose, the Saturnine can be satisfied.
You could say that it is the calling of persons with such Neptune-Saturn aspects to go beyond mere imagination or faith and give structure and form to it so that it can serve you in the material world and be presented as a gift to others. That probably sounds rather high falutin', but if the person does not show a gift for magic or inspired solutions early on, then it can be assumed it is an aspect of trans-personal development.
It is about taking the imagination and belief beyond conventional or rationalistic limitations.
Some people may find that such Neptune-Saturn aspects are about learning compassion and service to overcome the colder, sterner aspects within themselves.
