I am 25 and have been to college off and on in the last seven years since high school graduation, but I've never been able to stick it through and get my degree because I've always been too lazy to drive to school, study etc. Just dumb excuses. I was in AP classes ("smart people classes") throughout high school and did well in them, but still, when time came for college I just couldn't motivate myself to do the work. I've been a very non-motivated person all my life (except where it comes to weight where I work extremely hard to stay in shape). What aspects in my chart/aspects in general show a severe lack of motivation and what in my chart can possibly fix my lack of motivation and get me to complete school or at the very least get a well-paying job so I can move out of my parent's house I wholeheartedly suspect my Pisces MC causes me issues because it can be very indecisive and changeable. However, as the Pisces would suggest, I'm the creative type and always have been. I've always wanted to be a journalist for a fashion magazine. I feel like my Taurus sun and Cap moon combo can give me tremendous motivation since they're a powerhouse combo for ambitious people (the singer Cher has my same sun, moon and rising combo and she's certainly successful and ambitious). Wow. We were born within two weeks of each other. Anyway, I'm not a professional astrologer, so I'm not sure I'm looking for the right things, but right away, your North Node in 6th house stands out to me.You said that you make an effort to stay in shape and the North Node in 6th house can point to good physical health. On the other hand, it can also point to discipline and responsibility being a challenge, which is further indicated by North Node in Capricorn. You have not developed the qualities of North Node in Capricorn so you may find it difficult to motivate yourself to succeed. However, I think our birth dates may be too close together for me to offer you any solutions, because I'm also having issues with college. In my case, I don't think I'll graduate. Unfortunately, all I can suggest is maybe finding a major that allows you to pursue a creative outlet. Since you said you want to be a journalist, maybe your Mars in Pisces and your Pisces Midheaven would get motivated by having the chance to express yourself through writing. Being an English major would allow you to polish your writing skills for the field you want. You'll still have to push yourself to get through unpleasant courses, but you can use college to take courses that help you develop your creativity. IP: Logged |

I'm not sure. Maybe your Jupiter RX in the 3rd?I can say that having Saturn in the 9th will make it happen slower, but it will happen. IP: Logged |

I am thinking that Uranus ruling the 9th house with Mars therein is to be looked at?You have Venus/Mars contra parallel though which suggests creativity or initiative(Mars) in beauty related things (Venus) or being a gifted diplomat. Often times this combo may suggest boredom when things dont remain interesting. IP: Logged |

Moon square Mercury suggests that you can't activate your intellect fully unless your feelings get involved too. But lack of motivation is different from the person who is truly motivated, but who struggle with keeping grades up, etc.The strugglers often have a Mercury-Saturn aspect in longitude or declination, or Mercury-Neptune. I know someone who has struggled with college academics who has both. University isn't for everyone, even some who could handle the studies just fine. There are many reasons people don't finish college, not just lack of motivation or smarts. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification Rising Sign Descriptions ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |

You were born the same day as my cousin and she finished High School last year. I'm sorry if I'm not helping but this caught my attention because you have the same natal chart she has, but I don't know her time of birth.I think you can accomplish everything. Even if it takes time. Maybe the combination of Taurus and Pisces is the reason? Or maybe is something that has to do with your personal life; my cousin grew up without her father and her mother was never a very 'good' mom...

This is excellent advice! You definitely need to choose a more creative major. Filmmaking or screenwriting would be a good field to go into given that pisces midheaven. Just make sure you get practical experience while you are in school in order to get a job when you graduate. You are having a tough time buckling down and completing your work because it doesn't interest you. You have to pick a major that you are passionate about. When you choose the right major, then you will finish your degree very quickly. IP: Logged |

@SunAscendant The Grand Trine consisting of Sun, Moon and Jupiter could mean that some things come easily to you and it could be the culprit for your lack of motivation.Your ninth house ruler (higher education) Uranus is conjunct Neptune (fogginess) which could mean that you don't have a clear plan of what you really want to study. Uranus and Neptune are in the seventh house (house of open enemies among other things) squaring Venus (love). Maybe you would love some competition and maybe some competitive peers could motivate you. Having Mars in the ninth house also points to that, I think. IP: Logged |

Uranus the ruler of your 9TH is sesquisquare Jupiter the natural ruler of the 9H.The 9th house rules higher learning. Uranus could be disrupting the flow in this area leading to a lot of breaks. Neptune conjuncting Uranus perhaps contributes to the laziness.Since you have Jupiter in the 3H and Uranus rules your 9H going to school online may be a better fit for you but Neptune may not let you be disciplined enough, perhaps studying something Neptunian in nature may help. I have wanted to do online schooling, but yeah, I know I would be too lazy to force myself to do the work >.< IP: Logged |

I agree on the North Node in the 6th house also. IP: Logged |

I didn`t finish college and I have moon square mercury, opposite Uranus. Moon is my 9th house ruler. Someone wrote, that you need to be emotionally invested in something in order to get motivated. Same with me! I was in design school.. since I`m working in the entertainment industry, it`s not such a big deal to have no degree. Work experience counts more. Although I must say, I wished I had finished it! Just for myself. You`ll feel better, if you finish something! IP: Logged |
