I'm just curious.. Moon in Scorpio or Pluto conj Moon.. What is the difference??

Same with Moon in Pisces or Moon conj Neptune..

Moon in Sagittarius or Moon conj Jupiter ... and so on

(I'm talking about very close conjunctions 0-2 degree)

I read that Scorpio moon and moon conj Pluto are very similar. I think Scorpio moon would always be the real Scorpio and that Moon conjunct Pluto just would make the emotional nature very intense.

My moon is Libra conj Pluto in the 1st house. I had it described as someone who can see into relational dynamics with more depth. My feelings though do get very intense , extremely intense . I usually am fine as long as I am not pushed in a corner or don't have an option. It's usually when I get upset over something. Then a person might see that they grabbed a tiger by the tail. ( I read that somewhere)

I've always thought that planets in a particular sign (ie. Scorpio) and a planet touching another planet (ie. Moon conj. Pluto) it is expressed differently.

I think when a planet touches another planet, no matter what it is (let's say Pluto conj. Libra Moon in this case) it won't make the Libra Moon a Scorpio Moon, but rather intensify the traits of that planet and adding a darker twist. That would go for any of them. Venus in Leo square Pluto would be Venus in Leo on steroids for instance.

Pluto doesn't automatically negate the qualities of the planet sign and make it "Scorpio."

I like the def you put. I think Moon in Aquarius for instance is the feeling of wanting independence whilst Moon/Uranus square/conj/opp is the metaphorical actual "event" of this need for emotional independence.

Many Moon/Uranus often find that they cannot depend on emotional support very early in their lives i.e erratic mom/dad ,moving houses a lot, being raised in a group home, estranged from relatives etc. So they learn to develop inner independence (Uranus)from emotional relationships/ties(Moon)

Very interesting! So the planetary aspect would be felt more intensly, right?

If that is the case, could planetary aspects totally change the initial planets expression based on their star sign??

For example... wouldn't a cancer moon conj Uranus, square mercury, sextile mars express itself more like Moon in aquarius?? If we put this into synastry, wouldn't this particular cancer moon be more compatible with another`s aquarius moon?? Because its expression is completely altered..

Don't have a conjunction but Pluto is sq my Sun, Moon and Mercury. Also parallel Asc and Mars. To explain it as easy as possible: I do not mesh well with "butterflies" or superficial people. If you want to hang with me you better be prepared for intense physical workouts, energy that never subsides, intense emotions and intense conversations! I also don't like if you can't hold a gaze or shake my hand firmly. I am not for everyone and most people I've gotten along with have had some type of tight Pluto aspects or Scorpio Moons. Scorpio Suns alone I don't care too much for.

It certainly opens the door up for compatibility in that it creates a mirror. Because compatibility is about being mirrored.

When it is close (say within 3° or so) the conjunction to the Moon by Neptune or Pluto is stronger in effect than Moon in Pisces or Scorpio. You'll see a more pronounced lunar transference of the other planetary energies into the person's internal processing and personality.

Another difference is that you have two points close together in that sign that can be activated by progression.

Depending on the direction of the planet, it could progressed to the Moon by conjunction or parallel aspect, bringing into the person's life a concentrated experience of these two together, possibly at two different times. This creates what I call internal chart rectifying metrics that can isolate the true exact position of the natal Moon, thus the natal Asc.

I don't know, I have Scorpio moon conjunct Pluto 1 degree away. Though I've been told by another Scorpio moon that I'm lucky that my Pluto is rxing backwards away from my moon. Making it a little less "painful."

But, if I may ask, how do you feel for that moon conjunct pluto in scorpio?

I've known someone who has a very tight scorpio mercury conjunct pluto and moon/venus also conjunct the pluto, but she describes herself as a Libra, although she has sun (late degree, Libra/Scorp cusp) and mars (early degree) in there. She describes herself as a cheerful (something like happy-go-lucky) person in a profile.

IMO, moon-Pluto is a stronger Scorpio moon.

I have moon square Pluto and it can be very intense.

I still think though, that despite the conj. in whatever planet it may be (Pluto or otherwise) it doesn't completely overshadow the qualities of the native planet.

For instance I know someone, who has his Libra Mars conj. Pluto, and I would never automatically slap a "Scorpio Mars" onto him because there is NO DENYING his Libra traits. The way I see it, it makes his fight for justice FIERCE. Instead of being the voice of reason during a heated discussion, he will vehemently enforce the fairness or make obvious the lack thereof even if it goes against the opinion in the room, causing everyone to start defending their points of view and an argument will ensue. I don't even think he does it intentionally, but his strong need to see everything objectively and interject the opposing view even when it's not necessary can rub people the wrong way to his detriment.

Yes I do agree. I have Cancer moon square Pluto and I do have the Cancer qualities, but emotions are always so trans-formative for me.

Would you even count Pluto conj Moon at 10 orb?

No, because Pluto is too distant. Moon <10°> Sun, yes.

What about 9 orb? I have it at that, and it shows up in my Astro.com as an aspect.

What traits does this aspect have? I can gauge from there if this aspect playing out.

ScorpieScorp, check the declinations to see if Moon and Pluto are in parallel aspect...

Actually, I just checked and based on what you've said about your chart here in the forums, I would not say you have Moon conjunct Pluto. I'd limit that aspect to an 8° orb.

What you do have is a tight square from Moon to Jupiter.

@ana_bee: I agree with colorful butterfly and margym0o.

The conjunction will take on the themes of the planet and sign that the planet is in. I also think they work together and the expression is reinforced by the planet

By the way I don't think it's smart/logical to compare these placements because they are different. Yes there are similarities obviously but ultimately different.

It's like comparing bananas to plantains. Yes they are from the same family but ultimately different with different flavors, uses, etc.

Hate to piggyback here, but what if someone has a Gemini moon conjunct Jupiter? Would it bring extra cheerfulness and Sag like qualities to the Gemini moon?

Moon in Aries conjunct Jupiter, 2 degrees. Am I like a Sag moon?

I feel my emotions (moon) are all intensified by the Jupiter. The keywords of moon in Aries is "intense" (the fire emotions can burn things) and the Jupiter intensifies this emotions. But I have the trine aspect from saturn who keeps my emotions on check and my Sun/Pluto is a self-controlling freak. The good side of Jupiter is his Faith, I may have a bad day today but it doesn't effect me in a worst way or in a long time, because the Jupiter keeps the faith alive (but it doesn't mean I don't have one/two bad days for awhile). I don't have moon/jupiter afflicted aspect, so the moon/jupiter affects me in a positive way. If your moon is treated in a positive way, jupiter will intensify the positivity.

I don't think this aspect is the same with the moon in Sag, but it may have similarities like the same humor taste and the bluntness of emotions (example: if you ask if your cloth is ugly or not, I will give blunt feelings towards your cloth, in my mind I don't see the need to make you happy by telling a good sweet sentence to your ears).

I have Moon in the 8th house exactly opposite Pluto. I have so many similarities to a Scorpio Moon that people have trouble identifying the difference between my Moon in Gemini and Moon in Scorpio. The pivotal difference is that while I am extremely emotional, there will be times where I can take a step back and rationalize my emotions, whereas a Scorpio Moon will most likely stick to their emotions no matter what, maybe perhaps using logic to justify why they feel the way they do, if they have an Aquarius Sun or such. There's no denying though that the emotional intensity and perception is there, just comes from a different place.
