Tradition says that the Ox and Snake hit it off well in male/female relationships.

I see a few successful Ox husband/Snake wife connections, but rarely an Ox woman/Snake man relationship that lasts.

I have my theory on this but would like to hear your experience.

It doesn't make much sense that gender should play a role, but it sure looks to me like it does. I don't know if this is generally true for the other signs - I've examined primarily the Ox/Snake match.

Dual, the Ox man and Rat women often make lasting connections as well. I have not a clue what their relationships look like from the inside, however.

Those Roosters can be challenging. Indeed, a couple of them have tried to roast me!!!

The Chinese elements are fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. Certain elements clash.

I read a weird tidbit long ago that the elements of metal and wood clash. Metal cuts wood or something. But then if metal is in a masculine sign(rat, tiger, dragon, horse, monkey, dog) and wood is in a feminine (ox, rabbit, snake, ram, rooster, pig) then there is an attraction.

So rams and ox are opposites. Opposites can attract or be enemies. Or both. My Chinese day sign is ram/sheep/lamb. I've had a few failed relationships with ox day sign fellows.

Also my year sign is metal horse I had a failed relationship with a wood ox.

Neither one wins an award for Most Lovable Chinese Sign.

So if you're an Ox or Snake and you find a mate who shows promise - look under the hood, check her/him out thoroughly,and consult a good mechanic before looking further.

This is conjecture. Your attraction of pre-owned, experienced women could be a natural Ox phenomenon.

If a woman's first couple of relationships have crashed and burned (a common situation with Snake women especially), and assuming she still wants to carry on with this thing called love, she's in need of stability and dependability. Ox people are noted for both qualities.

Now that I think about it, a few Ox women have tried to rescue me. Apparently I'm either too far over the hill - or not far enough.

From surveying my partner, his longest relationship was 1.5 years. He's the one who has ended all previous relationships. It's a bit of a mystery that we've lasted so long. He has a competitive nature.' I told him that we should be in a competition of who has the longest lasting relationship, and so far I'm winning. He'd have to spend four more years with me to beat my record lol.

My ex husband and ex before my husband were both metal roosters. A lot of great sexual chemistry there, but I feel that they have a lot of habits that rub me the wrong way and vice versa.

I'm not sure if I'm mainly compatible with my husband because we're both fire, or because when I start to get emotionally hostile, he's a cool cucumber.

I find him to be super attractive and lovely to watch.

In spite of having three Tiger women in my immediate family - and thus possibly being "pre-conditioned" as it were - , I've never gotten involved romantically with a Tiger woman. I've always thought that I'm probably too conservative and slow-moving for that sign.

However, I've had some great friendships with Tigers - same and opposite sex. People often say that's an important forerunner to a good marriage, so possibly I need to re-evaluate missed opportunities.

If you like enigmas,especially ones that are prone to keeping the lid on their inner selves, you might well have found the right match in a Snake.

Here's hoping you and yours break all previous records for relationship longevity.

I know the bare minimal for our synastry charts, but I'm a Gemini sun and Mercury, Taurus moon, Cancer Venus, Cap Mars and AC. My partner's a Taurus sun and Mercury, Leo moon, Aries Venus, Pisces Mars, Virgo AC.

I feel like with my moon and his sun conjunct, as well as with the signs between us being sextile and trine, that we tend to balance out just so?

I've noticed that I've had to tone down my emotional outbursts with steady and conscious effort. With him, he has to fight this ability to clam up and not communicate. It's really hard for him. Sometimes, I purposely create a devil's advocate position to argue with him to hear his true stance on a subject. It's rather backhanded, I know, but I think he's gotten conditioned to not being heard generally. I want to understand his true voice, not the one he has to appease others.

In terms of being conservative, I don't mind this. However, he has this tendency to even treat me with care even when I should know something to support our household. It makes me upset when I don't have the freedom to move towards a common goal to help support my snake. But do I let him do this and suffer, only to later ask for help, or do I keep pushing him to be more vocal towards shared interests?

I often ask myself this, as I have made the promise to myself to not let my partner suffer in silence. I also don't want to remove his behavior to treat me well. This is part of the reason I love him. I like to think he enjoys the affection I give him, as well as the passion I give him towards certain sensual pleasures he feels.

He very clearly expresses how he feels through his eyes, in my opinion. He enjoys expressing affection through physicality, hugs, kisses, touching, holding hands. I don't like this. Not sure if it's because of relating to my signs or past physical abuse. I moreso enjoy words. I realized in year 1 that I have to let him touch me outside of sex, so I had to rewire my brain to start allowing this.

He's very calm and steady and I appreciate this so much. It's helped me become more calm and slow down to keep pace. I've only seen him lose his cool once, and he was sobbing because of memories of the passing of his father in the same room that my mom was hospitalized in four years later. It was a bad omen for my mom. His mother is a goat sign, and it's weird that they never really talked about his father's death until I came into the picture. They were able to open up to me about this.
