Do other aspects like square and trines count too or it's only the conjunction/ oppositions?

I'd skip soft aspects. Squares are fine with me.

The Vertex is a sensitive point/degree. So if an eclipse (for example) hit the Vertex/fate degree and the Vertex (in the natal or composite) was also aspected by Venus (trine Venus for example) then the eclipse would be conjunct the Vertex (activating the fate point) while also connecting energy to the Venus. I see that as "flavoring" the hit. You would look to the House where the Vertex resides and the ruler of the House. Is it the 7th House/ruler Venus? That trine to Venus might make whatever lesson the eclipse has in store for your relationships have a more Venusian outcome.

If you mean as a synastry aspect, your Vertex trine his Venus for example, then the same principle would apply. When that eclipse was hitting your Vertex, it would also be trine his Venus. You would look to the Houses of your Vertex and his Venus to see how it would affect you both. In the example we are using here with the up-coming eclipse hitting your Vertex... that would mean your Vertex was at 28 degrees Leo (like the upcoming solar eclipse) so his Venus would have to be either 28 Sag or 28 Aries. Uranus is currently hanging out around 28 Aries so the fated changes in both of your lives that are "sudden" changes for all (due to the eclipse trine to Uranus) would then add the element of sudden changes to VENUS things in HIS world. It would also mean both your Vertex (in this example) and his Venus are in Fire which adds to this Fire eclipse in Leo trine crazy Uranus in Fiery Aries. This could then be very telling for your relationship (if it was all affecting relationship houses or house axis' as we said for this example).

I'll stop there. But yes, it is all part of the puzzle.

I just use conjunctions to the vertex and the anti vertex--the opposite point, my Friend
