I have read that one should not accept a job offer or sign any contracts during a Mercury Retrograde. My boss just sent an offer letter to this new guy back on Thursday and he accepted the offer on Friday (all during the retrograde). He isn't scheduled to start the job though until September 16th (after retrograde). Would the "rules/theory" still apply to this guy? Would it be that maybe he doesn't end up liking the job or it turns out to not be what he thought it was. IP: Logged |

In my experience, people change their minds about new jobs all the time - regardless of whether Mercury is retrograde or not. My understanding is that it is encouraged to not start anything "new" while Mercury is retrograde. So, in theory, if that person was already working out the details of the job before signing the contract, they may not be affected (since it would not be "new"). I interviewed during Mercury retrograde last year and subsequently accepted the job while it was still retrograde - it worked out fine. This year, I verbally accepted a job during the "pre-shadow" period and signed the paperwork during Mercury retrograde. And since I can't "stop" my life or my job because of Mercury retrograde, I went with it (in both cases), with some extra caution. No quoting please. IP: Logged |

I am in a similar situation right now though I feel like it's a good thing because I am reevaluating all the details during the retrograde, and officially starting on the 6th of September. To be fair, I started emailing and interviewing for my new job in Mid July, though I didn't come in to shadow until August 10th or so. I got my offer officially on the 18th of August, and since then I've had time to plan out my departure at my current job, and ways to utilise myself at both places until I or God decides one is enough. I have embodied every detail of mercury retrograde: I've restructured my schedule at both jobs, reevaluated my role at my current job, and re-edited my schedule to accommodate both positions. It's been an up and down process, but I think I'm ready when this retrograde is over. IP: Logged |

I have never advised someone to not take a job offer because Mercury was Rx. There are no absolute rules on this.Mercury Rx means going back over those things that need clarification and more mental attention, even learning. So it is advisable that one not sign a contract during Mercury Rx over important matters of one's housing or complex legal nuances -- unless/until they have viewed the terms carefully and thoroughly and gotten all their questions satisfied -- or unless you have co-created the outcome and are satisfied that it is synchronicity that is at work. To avoid and delay and reject offers during Mercury Rx is a defensive, un-empowered position. I moved across country during Mercury Rx. I'm still here. People who are more grounded and practical, as well as those that are more communicative and attentive will not have as much trouble during Mercury Rx. Assess yourself honestly and then decide how to deal with it. Too much is made of it in my opinion. ------------------ The Declinations Guy > Expert birth chart rectification > Rising Sign Descriptions ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |
