So I just found out that Jupiter is Stationary Direct in my natal chart, at 0deg virgo in the seventh house.I never even knew this was a thing, let alone that this was significant, but from my initial research I have seen that some people consider stationary direct to be one of the most positive conditions for a planet to be in - and significant enough to make it have the equivalent power of a chart ruler. Does this mean I effectively have three chart rulers (Asc Aquarius, so Saturn and Uranus)? What other impact might this have - do I look to house (7th - impact on 121 relationships), conjunct mars (out of sign) by 3deg? Do you have any stationary planets? Are they stationary retrograde or direct? Have you seen the impact of this in action? Or is it not really that significant? IP: Logged |

My Jupiter is Stationary Direct in my natal chart. It's in 9th house conjunct my Midheaven. It also aspects my 7th house ruler, my Venus in 5th house, but I have no idea how strong it is. Unfortunately, aside from me having a stationary direct planet in my chart, all I can find on Google is the information you just mentioned in your post. There doesn't seem to be much information about the meaning of individual stationary planets, direct or retrograde. Without being able to thoroughly research the topic and reflect on periods of significance that may have involved the stationary direct planet in question, it's impossible for me to say whether what people say about it is true. I'm not even clear on whether Jupiter has impacted me more than it has any other person. It may be significant, however, that I have both Jupiter and Chiron in 9th house, yet I have trouble relating to descriptions of Chiron in 9th house. Does this mean anything? I'm not sure. It's worth mentioning that aside from Chiron, all my other placements appear to be correct, including my Ascendant. Whatever the case, Jupiter is a planet of expansion and it makes a tight semi-sextile aspect with my Chiron, implying that maybe Jupiter is strong enough in my chart to result in healing from the wound to be much easier than it would be otherwise. This is the only thing I can think of, for me personally, that might suggest that stationary direct planets have a massive influence matching that of the actual chart ruler. IP: Logged |

I don't think so. quote:

No. "Chart ruler" can be interpreted a couple different ways, both correct, but neither apply to a planet whose direction (D/S/Rx) applies to all persons born during that period. A chart ruler requires Asc alignment with a sign, whose planetary ruler is considered the chart ruler in the absence of a planet near Asc or MC. A planet aligned with the Asc by conjunction or parallel aspect, or aligned with the MC similarly and in the absence of similar alignment with the Asc by another planet, is the chart ruler. A planet's motion is shared by everyone born that day or days and does not have the significance of a chart ruler. ------------------ The Declinations Guy > Expert birth chart rectification > Rising Sign Descriptions ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |

However, Jupiter is significant in your chart since it is parallel Sun and N.Node at 12° North.------------------ The Declinations Guy > Expert birth chart rectification > Rising Sign Descriptions ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |

What the what - how did you figure that out?! It is, of course, true. I also have Sun trine jupiter (2deg), and jupiter is a wide conjunction with my north node (4deg, out of sign). Thanks for the input on the general significance - equal to a chart ruler did feel like a bit of a stretch From my perspective, I can grasp the concept that starting things is helped by having jupiter SD, especially at 0deg of a mutable sign. Indeed, this could explain my enthusiasm for starting new things - this is despite having a significantly fixed signature in my chart. [Sun, Moon, Asc, Mars, Uranus, Nodal axis, Chiron, Ceres...] The positive for me, then, is an ability to leap into new tasks, especially around learning new things. The negative is I'm terrible at completing anything

http://therealastrology.com/ask-kevin-topics/planets-signs-and-houses/121-stationary-planets.html I found this ^ article on stationary planets and I hope you'll find it useful the summary is that a planet at station is trine the sun (apart from mercury and venus) and thus why we feel its effects to the core of our personality (sun) IP: Logged |

you're welcome you can also read this article, which helps how to find the station point, by the help of the Swiss ephemeris: http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_stations_e.htm this website is also dedicated to the stationary planets; you can click on each planet to see a list of significant people who have that, in a particular house: http://www.stationaryplanets.com/neptune/

I pay attention. You've posted your chart here before.

This is true, but without declination... Are they always the same? Eg do they map exactly to the same degrees every time? So 2 Taurus is always 12 declination, for example? I'd always thought they were different for some reason... I'm always impressed by your attention to detail Kannon - you spot things others miss because of it. And you know a huge amount. It's nice to be able to learn from you 😊

Only for the Sun and Asc. Other planets' paths vary a bit off the ecliptic (Sun's path), thus veer from the ecliptic's declination path. You can see on my Declinations page that Pluto's path veers far from it, entirely separating from the ecliptic for most of its orbit (until it reaches extreme north or south). quote:

Thank you, for the kind words. I really appreciate you noticing. ------------------ The Declinations Guy > Expert birth chart rectification > Rising Sign Descriptions ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |
