Is it just me or is it virgo-influence?

I know SO many lonely and single virgo people (and I am one myself too), who just can't find love or another person to enjoy their time with?

Is it because we are too picky?
Is it because we think too much?
Is it because we are too independent?
Or simply too introverted?

Or what do you think?

It's probably pickiness, not that I have room to talk. My Sun in Taurus is in the Virgo decan, and yes, I am picky too. Virgos seem to have high standards that not everyone can live up to, which likely increases the impact of their loneliness. In fact, they get lonely incredibly fast. They really need a partner that can be with them on a daily basis and appreciate all they do. Unfortunately, unless their chart has placements and aspects that compensate, you will find that most Virgos have difficulty finding anyone to satisfy their needs.

what placement would you think could compensate in your point of view?

I'm not actually sure. Maybe some air placements would compensate or Aries and Sagittarius placements. These are just guesses though.

All of what you said could apply, but also Virgo naturally isn't too keen on modern society's standards for dating and romance. They don't like obvious heavy flirting, and they take their time - while the rest of the world loves tinder, fast dating and the instant gratification of the dopamine rush from a fling.

As for them being picky - depends on how picky we're talking. We're SUPPOSED to be picky when finding a partner. This is someone we're going to be sharing our intimate life with, our psychic energy, our body, our saliva, our bathroom with so being picky isn't a bad thing.

And so, back to modern day standards for relationships - many people will be programmed to think dating must happen such and such a way, and so probably wouldn't know or understand how to properly do the courtship dance with Virgo.

But the way you could look at it, more optimistically, is it shows you who's not worth it, and it'll show you, when you finally come across them, who IS worth it and can dance to your beat.

I have not met a lonely Virgo, yet. We're pretty content to do our own thing.

My friend has a Virgo moon in the 6th house, and it squares her Mercury and is inconjunct her Jupiter.

While she would always love a partner, she's more than content waiting for one she knows she'll like.

Virgo energies are best described by quality over quantity. She'll take one great date over one hundred okay dates.

Then again, Virgo isn't particularly strong in her chart as the rest of her planets are in Sagittarius - Aquarius.

I'd also argue that a lot of the "single" aspect comes from where planets mostly reside and in what houses. Someone with no Virgo and a ton of planets in the 11th house will find that they're much more focused on friendships than relationships. Even the 12th house can have that effect.

It's unfortunate that they want perfection because it doesn't exist.

My father has moon in Virgo and has only been married once to my mother and they are still together, have been together for over 35 years and I know they will never divorce, they have a healthy marriage, they are content.

There are definitely lots of virgos I have come accross who have been married many years so I don't think virgos have a tendency to be alone IME.

Now, my sister with venus in virgo married late in her mid 30s but boy did she date a lot and never had issues attracting suitors.

I do have a friend who is a virgo with venus in virgo and she is usually single but not by choice, I think is just her personality and issues she has that are not conducive to been in a long term relationship, she is a bit shallow and not very stable. Perhaps having both sun in virgo and venus in virgo leads to tendencies towards been single and lonely if I go by that ONE example! I would need to replicate this with other cases to see if this combination is an actual marker of what you are saying. Now just having sun in virgo on its own does not seem to lead to been single or loneliness. I am myself a sun in virgo and I tend to be in relationships or date and when I am single there is usually one really close friend I hang out with frequently.
